One of the Dutch reviews of last night's show mentioned the setlist choices being worse than they could have been (which I agree with, though I still very much enjoyed the show) and then proceeded to call The Handler and Citizen Erased the worst songs in the set and praise Revolt. Oh well
What the hell Do you have a link?
-
First night of Amsterdam should start in 5 minutes. If they're on in time that is.
-
Holy shit.
-
I think he sounded quite well during The Globalist tbh...
EDIT: Haha didn't notice...that was probably sarcasm
Yeah Tjet was actually praising Matt's performance so you two agree.
-
Ah didn't realise the gig wasn't over! Still, I can't imagine it getting played if his voice is off.
I was thinking that as well. If he's already struggling with notes in MotP, how is he going to hold up during something as TaB
-
That's more like it, Muse.
Sure do hope Matt's voice gets better, must be a crap situation to be in when you know you're not at 100%. I imagine this is why Take a Bow was skipped tonight?
Was it , though?

Niks?

Chris is on the guitar
Why
Why
Why
Why
FFS.

Where are you hearing it? Is there a periscope?
This.
edit: nvm

Heb zitplekken voor de 9e, recht tegenover het podium. Aangezien het niet de eerste avond is hoop ik op een prima setlist

I don't think people like or dislike certain songs merely because they are slow, but just because they do or don't think it is a good slow song. You could classify RBS as a slow song, which I think is amazing, while I think Aftermath is pathetic.

Not Bm but B7 or just B.
Ah right, thanks! At least I tabbed it correctly :')
-
And also the next guitar part when he usually does 5-5-8-5 / 7-7-5-7... he plays some chords instead. Thanks! I am trying to cover it perfectly so this will help a lot!
The chords are just the Am, Bm, E, F, G chords but all higher up on the neck.
I believe they're:
E---8----7---7----8----10
B--10---7---9----10---12
G---9----8---9---10---12

Okay, say there are 5 songs which you all rate to your liking on a 1-10 scale:
Song A: 7
Song B: 6
Song C: 9
Song D: 6
Song E: 7
This means that, although I like almost all of them, I like songs A, B, D and E least. Those are therefore the worst songs of the album. The terms 'worse' and 'better' are relative.
The worst 3-track span of this selection of songs could then be either:
A, B, C
or
C, D, E
depending on your own preference. This means that although I like song C best, it could still be in my worst 3-track span, simply because it is surrounded by the worst songs (i.e. the songs I like least) of the album.
edit: You could also just put B, C, D because actually B and D have the lowest overall rating. But as I said above, it all comes down to your own choices and willingness to 'sacrifice' a good song.

Pretty cool

Also I noticed that I never actually look back at the photo's and movies I make during gigs. Not only because the quality isn't that great, but also because it doesn't really capture the moment at all.
If you just really attend to the fact that the band is right in front of you and focus on having a good time right there and then instead of wanting to record everything, the overall experience will be a lot better. At least for me.

This is what Muse are currently doing so I think he took inspiration from that.
Fair enough. But if I were to make a setlist that appealed a bit more to all the fans (so including us) I'd at least put Defector behind JFK. Because this is just... I don't know why Muse do it .
-
I made a setlist wich I think most fans would be happy with.It.s something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue:D and I had nothing else to do:LOL:
Drones
Psycho
Dead inside
Interlude
Hysteria
Bliss or Plug in baby
Deadstar or Fury
The Handler
Map of the problematque
Supermassive black hole
Butterflies and hurricanes
Showbiz or Muscle Museum or Sunburn
Apocalypse please or Feeling good
Stockholm Syndrome
Assassin or Exo- Politics
New Born or Citizen erased
JFK
Reapers
Time is running out
Resistance or Uprising or Panic Station
Revolt
The Globalist
Mercy
Knights of Cydonia
The or,s are rotations:D
I think it,s a whole lot better than what we got so far.....
Bury the past,rob us blind
and leave nothing [but a shit setlist] behind.
Just stare....and live the nightmare:LOL:
JFK into Reapers?
Also Revolt as main set closer? Why not SS which is now somewhere mid set.

Yeah. I can see a little bit why they keep American shows a bit more low-energy. It must be a bit draining to play your guts out to a dead crowd. I used to come back from shows in Holland with my voice gone for days and some sore muscles. Sure, I'm a bit older now, but if I had moved or screamed or sang along loudly I'd have looked like a complete dick in this dead crowd.
Which says a lot, because as far as European crowds go the ones from The Netherlands aren't even the most active.
-
I'm really scared for 2nd/3rd night syndrome though. More gigs per venue means more chance of having a shite setlist compared to the others. And I don't have the money and time to go to all of them.
-
I think this is the first time Muse does 3 gigs in the same tour in the Netherlands. Or more than one for that matter .
-
Nope it's definitely not playback: if you really pay attention to it you can always hear slight variations in the playing. Way of strumming, timing, extra nonsense he does inbetween sections.
He is just so experienced running around while playing guitar that it doesn't make much of a difference anymore. I mean, look at how he can play the Hysteria solo perfectly while swinging the guitar from side to side, and also the plug in baby riff while 'pirouetting'.

Okay so there are 2 presales this morning:
- Fan .mu presale at 9:00 am
- Ziggo Member presale at 10:00 am
-
Could be they changed it? Because my girlfriend also said to me yesterday "Oh apparently we can also buy tickets in a Ziggo-presale which starts at 10 am." Not that we needed it, but.
Also on Twitter there was this guy who replied to my "I've got tickets" tweet with "I thought the Ziggo presale only began at 10 am?"
What was the first Muse song you listened to?

Somewhere in 2006, my brother played Absolution all the time. As soon as I heard the song Sing for Absolution I was sold. Then I saw them at Pinkpop in 2007 which blew me away com-pletely. Ah, when they opened with KoC and still played Hoodoo
