  1. Guhhhh. Aida, I'm so sorry I wasn't able to call you during MK Ultra. Trust me I was frantically trying but stupid maxis won't let me get through, and I think it cut off my call when I called Faz!! ARGH. I tried using Joelyn's phone to call but it didn't get through either. I'm hoping the bootlegs would sound OK, I'm nervous to listen to it because, like Faz said earlier lol we were practically squeeling (like for SUNBURN <33 I think I went apeshit ) SO HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY. I'll get through the bootlegs asap, but I saw other people recording as well, hopefully their recording would have less girls uh, making noise Pleasure to have met all of you btw!! Miele, hope you're ok!
  2. Maybe it's for them in case they got hungry. I suppose it's a projector or air cooler of sorts lol I'm amused that the screen actually looks really slim. I mean, if you're looking at it from the front (http://twitpic.com/110ce1), you would think it's 3 dimensional! Or maybe it's just my eyes right now, it's late!! Â I would really love to work on setting up the acoustics for the stadium. Eek. Â Shall go hunt for 7-11 then We'll see you guys there (we, meaning er me Joelyn and Mel?), and good luck squeezing in to get to the front, if you're going late from work! Â I'm off, HAVE FUN EVERYONE! Â Support group, we'll keep you updated whenever we can! I'm also gonna attempt to bootleg the gig for you guys, so it's almost like hearing it live :]
  3. Welcome aboard the twitter wagon! I was thinking of updating the setlist too but I guess sending tweets from my Malaysian number wouldn't be too wise hurr. I'll just link to you for updates lol! Â The gadgets look WAY TOO AWESOME. I CAN'T SLEEP!! Â So I assume we'll be meeting after the concert then? At least, with those who would be queueing early. I guess the doors would open round bout 6pm tmrw yeah? If we reach early, we'll come by to say hello before you guys get in, but if we can't make it in time, we'll just meet after the gig? Â Now, where would be the most convenient place to wait after the gig?
  4. Aww, where's Chris? Is he flying over from Perth today? He needs love too lol. Nut, those pictures are priceless! Thanks for the write up. Would've been better if there were less people, cause you get to have more personal time with them, but at least you got to see them! Meet & greet, literally? Miele & Debbie, have fun in Singapore today!!
  5. ^ Hahahah, I'll pass on the skills to you in the bus I should catch up on sleep for the bus ride, but I have a feeling we'll be too excited lol. Can't wait for Wednesday morning too! Wangsa Maju station round bout 830am k? Or should we make it slightly earlier? I hope the traffic won't be too hideous that morning!
  6. Lol I think it's best they do that (the delay) and not post where they are immediately, because then people like me would be able to pin point their exact locations in the exact time Like for example, I know that Saosin (who ate durian in Bandung) is at Crown Regency Hotel right now or perhaps headed off to Pelita for some nasi kandar before their Malaysian show hahaha. I love your 500 Days of Summer re-enactment plan. If it's a number of you and your friends headed back to The Hive (will they play music from the band in the lobby?) I think sharing a midnight surcharge cab fee wouldn't be too bad, right? You'll probably want the comfort after the intense Muse gig =D Yeah, I don't know why I'm getting excited about the flight arrival times as well, I'm not even gonna be there Hmm, gave it some thought and I guess I'll stay at betelbox too. Easier to contact Joelyn since we're travelling back together as well Tee, congrats on scoring those Pen A tix!!! What happens if you do win the AXN contest? Lol. Miele, I shall bring your Rolling Stones mag k?
  7. OK, let me try to work this out. Muse just posted a picture on twitter which pretty much suggests that they're in the airport right now, Perth time (6pm). A quick check on the Perth international departures show that there are no flights leaving for Singapore after 6pm, safe for Tiger Airways (9:35pm) or SIA at 2am later, but why would they want to go to the airport 7 hours earlier right? Either that or they updated their Twitter account in the flight or something. It takes about a total of 5 hours to reach Singapore from Perth. There is one flight coming in from Perth to Singapore at approx 5:20pm local time, therefore I think it's safe to rule that flight out because they would have to board the flight from Perth at 12:20pm. If they were to fly on SIA, they would've taken the 4pm flight from Perth (SQ226), arriving at 9:05pm tonight. I checked the Qantas Monday flights and they have one that leaves from Perth at 3:40pm (QF71). Suggestively, this would mean that the flight would arrive about half an hour ealier than SIA, therefore at about 8:45pm. Whatever it is though, I think if you were at Changi tonight from 9:15pm onwards, you might be lucky enough to meet them. These are still however, strictly just guesses from past experience so please don't rely on them too much. Edit: If they took the via Bali flight, and not direct flights, then kantoi lol I'm not sure any more.
  8. OUFT. I've booked a bunk at betelbox, but I'm still weighing my options if I should stay there or to bunk over at my cousin's place (despite troubling her but for comfort!). Betelbox would be easier to get home to after the gig since we're all gonna beramai-ramai walk back there right? What do you guys think? Anyway, my itinerary is pretty short for SG. Leaving in a bus at about 10am with Joelyn on the 3rd itself, and our estimated time of arrival is prolly about 5-6pm at the stadium (after checking in and such). Day after gig I'm going to Tampines with a friend and Debbie to eat meatballs for brunch at IKEA Shop & sight see a lil while, then our bus leaves at about 5:30pm from Singapore.
  9. I'm sorry to hear that Hurr. Updated list- CONFIRMED. Miele - Pen A Nut - Pen A cipankurus - Pen B Pen A Starkiller - Pen A Shannaz - Pen B Lya - Terrace Debbie - Balc Mel - Balc Joelyn - Balc Liz - Balc Almost confirmed (In the midst of getting the tix? Please update us) Tee Grace (GraySea) Unfortunately sitting this one out ...support group in the midst of formation? Aida Faz Kay-a? musebrat? Noor Nawkaz P/S: Joelyn, I just realized I misspelled your name earlier lol sorry, got it confused with another friend of mine with the same name, but different spelling!
  10. Woah, that flag looks awesome. Malaysia's in it right? Hahaha. That Uprising shirt looks SWEET and I'm so getting a sweatband The price looks insane, as compared to the merch that was selling during the Mono gig a few hours back. Their album Hymn to the Immortal Wind was only going for RM20, which is ridiculously cheap!!! The shirts (Mono) were so pretty too, but I thought it was a bit preachy.. I bought a tote bag though Speaking of Mono, holy campers. I cannot believe loud noises can make such a beautiful sound. The idea of it is crazy, because when music is so loud, honestly you can't hear shit. With Mono though, loud is awesome rhythmic loud. It was 90 minutes of pure, intense love affairs with various instruments. Equally great were the opening band Deepset whom I've been dying to catch them live. Finally tonight I did, and they certainly did not disappoint! As the customs usually go with the Malaysian crowd, they tend to boo off the opening acts, but for this gig, it was crazy different. Everyone cheered and was hungry for more even after Deepset had to humbly dismantle their own gear/set from the stage! What a stark contrast to last night's Nokia Launch party where four artistes were featured, including Boys Like Girls. Sorry to all BLG fans, but they were just horrid (even after the 2nd time I'm seeing them live). Sound system was set up poorly and Martin the lead singer was just honestly trying too hard. I remember hearing about them 6 years back on Myspace and The Great Escape wasn't huge then. At that point I actually thought they've got potential (perhaps in a Hoobastank kinda way). Now however, they've just got a looong way to go to reach echelon (and I don't mean that in a 30 Seconds To Mars way) status! I did, however, had a lot of fun going to concerts after my final paper! (TQ Miele btw for having such faith lol but I'm not even sure myself anymore) ---------------- In other news, is it time we start following Muse's tweets closely for hints as to what time they'll be taking a plane from Oz to SG?
  11. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Aww you forgot to add that you called me when The Killers played Tranquilize ! That is one kick ass set list though!! Holy crap. That would've been so hard on them Blah. LOUSY LOUSY organizers. I cannot believe that there were no Killers posters at all. Mmmm, pretty Muse poster =D Last night was rough. I still can't believe I was slaving over my books when Andrew Bird was performing to a sold out gig at Esplanade Thanks for the write up, Aida <3 Hope you had fried ice cream and everything at Bugis Street :] Luge sounds great!
  12. Tee, thank you so much for your help! I didn't hear back from those who emailed me but it's ok I guess, I'll just keep the ticket (along with The Killers') in a dark corner. Out of sight, out of mind Hope you'll win that AXN contest! Not sure which tickets they're giving out though. Any idea how the Cat Power gig went btw? We would've been at the airport right now because The Killers' (supposed) flight leaves for Hong Kong in about 20 minutes Last night went past as a blur, I think because I was trying to keep myself occupied. Here's hoping Aida & Faz would give us a short report on their sg trip, didn't turn out too bad I hope. Meeting up with Nut and all? Hmm, I think I could only reach singapore at about 5pm, the latest. You should be in line by then!! I could come find you (plus everyone else) in line, or perhaps just meet after the gig? Speaking of which, do you want me to bring the Muse Rolling Stones mag to Singapore? Lol we should do that dance! Ok, must go choreograph it now, if only we have four of us though. Debbie, come join us in B14!!! During Uprising if we do start dancing I think everyone would stare at us lol but it'll be so much fun! That extra space at the corner could come in handy eh? Heh. Now where do we get matching santarina outfits? Jk. Yeah we'll have to fill up an immigration/customs card of sorts, but those things will be provided by the bus coach. Just get the address of beetlebox and I think you should be fine.
  13. Awesome! We shall teach everyone around us the Starlight clap lol. Do we have an Uprising clap? Lol. I'm glad the Franz Ferdinand phase has disappeared slightly now lol Yeah I was thinking of PosLaju or FedEx but considering this being in singapore and another country, I'm not sure if it's guaranteed the next day. Too bad things didn't work out, I guess $200+, ouch! Maybe you could try joining contests? There's one for AXN Singapore viewers (click here) and another one at MTV (Closing date's today though!) The important things like flight/accommodation etc has already been paid for right? Unless you're planning to head to Sentosa and Night Safari etc lol then yeah I guess you have to carry more cash. If you have friends with the EZ link card (similar to our Touch & Go only way more efficient), I suggest you borrow because public transport would cost less then. I'm planning to do my CNY shopping in singapore haha but I don't know if I'll hv time. I've promised my friend that we'll be visiting IKEA Speaking of IKEA, hey Nut which IKEA's swedish meatballs are better? The one in Tampines is the newer one, right?
  14. Splitting rumours are abundant but they remain rumours for now... Go watch Placebo and Echo!!! If I had enough resources I would definitely catch both! Aww, no I didn't get an email about the Bird ticket from the last.fm user I think it's a little too late now though! Since I won't be leaving Singapore in a few hours, even if I mail the ticket, I'm pretty sure it'll take more than 5 working days to reach Singapore. I guess that seat will just be empty :'( How's your Pen A hunt coming along? I absolutely hate ticket scalpers! In other news though... I'M SEEING MUSE!! This is some really crazy impulse decision, I'm forgoing so many new year resolutions by doing so, but wth I really need this! I think I'm a row behind Joelyn and Mel but at least we're in the same Balcony (B14). Hurray! Girls, you gotta let me stand next to you I should be jumping for joy and all but I don't know why I'm not. Man, this setback really did a number eh. Still though... MK ULTRA LIVEEEEEEEEE. and yay, I'm hanging out with you guys!!!
  15. Bleurgh, I am absolutely bummmmed out about The Killers. I miss Singapore. Honestly I was looking forward to so many things, for one, visiting the two IKEAs and trying out Singapore's version of Swedish meatballs... I guess the outfit I picked out to wear when we go stalk meet Brandon Flowers in the airport will not materialize (lol i'm such a girl ) I guess these tickets will forever remain unstubbed, whatever that word is, I'm too upset to find the right word. So instead of The Killers and Andrew Bird in the span of 3 days, I guess now I'll have to survive with Boys Like Girls (they're playing a free gig courtesy of Nokia at the Bukit Equestrian Indoor venue this Friday) and Mono (KL Pac this Saturday with a string quartet!) in the span of 2 days. I still really want to visit Singapore though, at least before CNY. I guess it's pretty likely that I'll be going for Muse now! Just need to work out little details. My parents are not exactly thrilled about the idea however (but at least I'm not travelling down twice in 10 days), I'll have to cut short the hours spent in Singapore to make it back in time for the preparations of my cousin's wedding. Family gatherings. Meh. P/S: Aside from "unforseen circumstances" I heard The Killers cancelled because one of the member's close member of the family passed away. It's a real pity especially most of the crew already flew out to Singapore earlier to make preparations for the concert Aida & Faz, do look out for random people in Bugis street or something donning the Killers' crew shirts or something At least that could make your trip a little less depressing My sister cancelled her leave for Monday so she's going back to work and I guess I'll just have to stay home and study PP/S: I heard they will reschedule all their Asian dates, but I also heard that they would be going on an indefinite hiatus after their Melbourne gig. Hurr.
  16. Since I'd rather skim through the Muse forums than studying, here's a quick update on the list. CONFIRMED. Miele - Pen A Nut - Pen A cipankurus - Pen B Pen A Starkiller - Pen A Shannaz - Pen B Lya - Terrace Debbie - Balc Mel - Balc Jolynn - Balc Almost confirmed (In the midst of getting the tix? Please update us) Tee Nawkaz Grace (GraySea) Unfortunately sitting this one out ...support group in the midst of formation? Aida Liz? Faz Kay-a? musebrat? Noor I think I will only be able to leave the ? behind my name after The Killers' gig this Sunday. Gotta see if this Indoor Stadium is worth the price! ..or if I should save for Wembley... or neither if I don't pass this particular exam I'm taking in between that 10 days of the two gigs.
  17. If it's not too much trouble, could you perhaps please help me out a little there? I don't have a Last.fm account. Looooonnnng story. I would be around Singapore for the Killers so I could meet up with the buyer on a cash on delivery basis, that might work. I'll give you my email if it's ok for you I'm still not really going all out to sell my "unwanted" Andrew Bird ticket I only posted it on twitter and on here so far... I guess a part of me kinda hopes no one would buy it so I could still hold the ticket in my hands. Maybe next week... Edit: That avatar is indeed monstre-ous!
  18. You could try here. I suggest you bid higher to make sure you get those tickets! Good luck Btw, do you know of anyone who could be interested in one foyer stall (student) ticket for Andrew Bird's gig ($25) ? Apparently I cannot make it any more Damn you Wednesday 8am exam that contributes to 30% of my finals. Any chance you could make it (or anyone you know) and perhaps at least write up as to how mad Andrew Bird's violin skillzzz really are? Sigh. Of course, with a little Bird out of sight now, Muse comes into play once again. It's crazy how I've been arguing with myself on and off to really make the trip down to Singapore again in 10 days. It's really up to my partner-in-crime to convince me now. She's a huge fan of Saosin, so really, it works for both of us right?
  19. Noor, what happened? *hugs* That really sucks. Are you sure it's gonna be a no go?
  20. I totally feel we should all dance to that if they should play Uprising live during a gig!!! Haha. I think I'll go study the dance moves. How cool would a Muse flash mob dance be? HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Fingers crossed for 2010. Although things aren't looking so good for Andrew Bird now Priorities are so difficult to judge. I should be packing, but I heard that Mono (awesome post-rock Japanese band) will be playing Malaysia at KL Pac Jan 30th (horrible timing for me, but at least it's in Malaysia and I don't have to travel much!) and they'll be bringing a string quartet along. OMFG. String quartet! Mono!! plus, Deepset (awesome Msian lads) will be opening for them, so I strongly suggest this is a MUST WATCH event. The last time they came over, I had to miss because of an immediate friend's party so with them coming back for their 10th anniversary, I honestly cannot wait! More details here.
  21. I could see Tyson Ritter was trying so hard for both nights in Malaysia to not include any profanity during the AAR gig I think you need to read this, dear. Nothing against the politics of our country, but to come out with a statement that says The permit to stage a concert is all that matters. I have a feeling the department responsible for approving permits have been infiltrated so negatively to the extent of being a total pain in the ass for anyone to even attempt to bring a band over. It is honestly not easy to stage a concert and usually those that are a success could be attributed to the endearing passion of the organisers in ensuring that everything runs smoothly. Adding to the fact that it is difficult to get a permit, usually promoters don't exactly take the initiative because they half know it'll be futile effort anyway. Someone needs to change this. ----------------------- Miele/Faz/Aida, always a pleasure to meet up with you girls I didn't join for dinner, but it was fun to catch up. We talked from Debbie's long forgotten poster to plastering and blowing up a picture of Faz for the SG Muse gig so Miele can hold and ask Matt if he remembers lol to certain dilemmas to Tom Kirk to Bangkok to Stockholm Syndrome KL video to a brief description about bras (LOL) to getting halaued during MSP's soundcheck to Nut's very nice mom who paid for cab fare to ... well, everything. It's never a good thing to meet up with fellow Musers knowing you can't go for a Muse gig because before meeting up, I was at peace with the fact that I couldn't go for Muse any longer. But now, thanks to them, and the Rolling Stones mag, I'm on the fence again
  22. I could drop by KL Sentral after catching Sherlock Holmes on Wed Must remember to bring Faz's DVD!
