  1. Now, if only Bukit Kiara's close to the ocean/beach/sand lol then Wish You Were Here would be purrrfect! Now that the opposition has taken over the state though - perhaps they'll make an exception with Brandon going shirtless? Lol. I'm pretty sure even if he doesn't it would still be a kickass show. His vocals are awesome enough, I say the good looks just come as a bonus. Heh. I guess I'll just bring my umbrella along just in case - perhaps during Under My Umbrella I can wave along to it. lol. Debbie, the song's from the Morning View album.. Heh. I managed to get this off MAS' time schedule. (I've done my part in stalking welcoming bands too in KLIA lol. Switchfoot being the latest victim. Wanted to go welcome EITS as well, but they arrived from Taiwan late that night :-/ ) So yeah, looks like there'll be two arrival times from Shanghai, 3:25pm and 9:40pm. I'm hoping they would land in the afternoon flight. Because if it's at night the chances of me being able to make it would be a lot slimmer. The only two questions now though - will they be taking MAS or some other airline, and which day/time will they depart from Shanghai (March 13th is the concert day in Shanghai- so will they leave the day after on the 14th? or 15th itself since they'll only start playing after midnight)? I suggest we should have a look out for any interviews that Incubus may be doing. It will roughly tell us when they'll be in Malaysia and such. I wonder if I should make a banner... Gee, I'm getting excited? Lol. I hear Hitz.fm are giving out tix.. Along with Celcom? Sigh. Maybe if you drop by The Curve this Friday, I'm pretty sure you'd be able to hear her and all that. Laundry's pretty open - actually most of the seats are in an open space. So I say why not just try and give it a shot? I might be there... If I can drag a few of my other friends to drive me there. Haha. Oh wait... Incubus arriving on Friday too, right? Khir Toyo must be really bumped. I hope Pak Lah doesn't step down anytime soon though - despite all these rumours. I just can't see Najib as Prime Minister just yet... Saleee! My sister's getting married soon.. Maybe I could find a dress from there or something. Lol.
  2. Yeah, Tom Cruise bit Brad Pitt and turned him into a vampire... and thus unravels the story of the two of them living through centuries along with a little girl played by Kirsten Dunst... I think? Mhm. I doubt Brandon would go shirtless too... The closest we had the last time they came here was Brandon taking off his beanie. Haha. Unless it rains? Oh dear, what if it rains? I believe it'll get all messy and muddy. Hmm. Speaking of Incubus, do you guys have any plans @ KLIA on welcoming them here in Malaysian soil? Would love to drop by Colbie's showcase too this Friday. Unfortunately, I'm rather broke due to the Switchfoot/Explosions in the Sky/Sunburst gigs Might have to feed off maggi noodles for dinner for the next few weeks! Ah. Politics. I was rather surprised too when I heard that the Opposition managed to take over most of the key seats in Penang, Kedah, Perak, Wilayah KL and Selangor. I guess I'm on the fence for this one, but the results yesterday will definitely affect the way I vote in the next general elections (I couldnt make it for this one...). I believe we do need a change with how things work in the goverment. Especially with how things are running thesedays behind closed doors. But of course, change here doesnt exactly mean to the extend that the Opposition will form the new government. I still can't exactly picture how DAP and PAS would work together. Eventhough they say that they will manage somehow, but I've experienced certain issues (especially during NS) whereby I find that two completely different visions from two seperate minds cannot come together to achieve a common goal. It's just not built that way. Overall though, I think this general elections proved quite a number of things - and the rakyat has certainly spoken. I suppose all we have to do now is stay calm and watch as things unfold.
  3. Debbie, thank you so much for that setlist! I was just about to come over here to rant after sifting through pages of Incubus talk over at another forum with no news of the setlist. I read that Brandon Boyd had the courtesy to take off his shirt for the fans though. Lol. OMG STELLAR. PLEASE PLEASE PLAY STELLAR. No Pardon Me again? Would really love to hear that! Here's the setlist from the recent Soundwave Festival in Australia (I believe it's something like Sunburst - where Incubus did a short set) Nice to Know You Wish You Were Here Anna Molly Vitamin Favorite Things Pistola Under My Umbrella The Warmth Drive A Kiss To Send Us Off Sick Sad Little World Megalomaniac Looking forward to hear Drive live since they didn't play that back in 2004! ------- Also, Cats Whiskers pretty cool.
  4. Happy Anniversary everyone! Eventhough I'm usually just a lurker I shall never forget the day I heard Sunburn live and of course the day Muse rocked our socks off! Anyway, since Muse came by, we've been blessed with a string of gigs from several other bands. Switchfoot (♥) and Explosions in the Sky, most recently! Kudos to Muse for starting everything! I saw the schedule for Sunburst too. (Odd - for some reason I typed Sunburn ) Incubus at 12:30 - 1:30am. That should be interesting! I wonder how I'm gonna get a ride back hmmm. I wish they would try to get Jimmy Eat World to drop by KL. They're headed to Japan for a gig on the 17th of March - surely these pineapple people could enlighten us by bringing JEW along? :-/
  5. Hey guys. Frequent lurker here. Sorry to intrude in all this football talk (Chelsea fan here btw). But. OH MY GOD. SWITCHFOOT IS COMING TO MALAYSIA! February 2nd 2008! Mark your calendars!! Sorry if this has been posted earlier on.. But look! KL is on the tour section of Switchfoot's Official Site! So it should be *quite* confirmed right? I cannot tell you what an awesome Christmas gift this is! FINALLY!! Well even if the Malaysia gig's not confirmed (I haven't heard any news of it just yet...) but I'm pretty sure the Singapore gig on the 31st of Jan is quite certain. Will have to make time for that one! Now they only have to get Jimmy Eat World, Brand New and Lifehouse here as well! Oh and Muse + Incubus again!
  6. Better Than Ezra has quite a number of hits, but I guess they never really hit off here in Malaysia. At the Stars would be my favourite song from them As for Dishwalla, I've given up hope looking for any of their albums here. One of the most underrated bands, and yeah Red still plays Angels or Devils ocassionally. So do you guys listen to Clash on Red fm? And mmmm, I don't mind side tracking for F1 at all!! I went for today's testing session It was spawesome. I took a few pictures, but here's one from my hp. That's the Ferrari pit. I wonder why the top teams are soooo secretive (hence the barrier thingy and all). When I stepped into the circuit, I could hear the engines revving up and the drivers changing gears and everything. As soon as I heard all that, my adrenalin started pumping in. (Yes I'm a geek). Honestly, I can sit there all day to listen to the sounds of an F1 car. (But eh, i would definitely give that up for another Muse concert!) My friend and I made a banner for Heikki Kovalen and Nico Rosberg. A welcome banner. But personally, I'm more of a Nick Heidfeld and Fisichella fan.. Assignments are evil. I should really stop procrastinting.
  7. I highly recommend the Bends too Apart from the songs mentioned above, you might want to check out Black Star from The Bends as well. Hmm, actually just get the whole album. Heh. Hmm, I don't know if you guys tuned in then, but there used to be this really great show over at WOW.FM (I think it was called The Edge of Wow?) and that DJ, Kevin B, played a heck load of awesome songs back then. He indirectly introduced me to a few great bands like Feeder, Ash, Better Than Ezra and Dishwalla. He would ocassionally bring a few local rock artistes in to promote them too. I miss him
  8. ^ Hmm.... Looks like Kimi Raikkonen to me? Could be wrong. 3 weeks to Malaysian GP. Can't hardly wait til the pit parties and autograph sessions start rolling in. ---------- Ooh, thanks for the Spidey suit picture! The invincible vid was simple. Yet packed with uncountable hidden messages... I like.
  9. Mmmm. The Presitge is awesome. Christian Bale and Hugh Jackman, awesome actors; great combination. And this movie was definitely top stuff from Chris Nolan, although Memento is still one of his best movies, IMO. And Christian Bale was sure smokin' in Reign of Fire! He's trully a talented actor. ------- As for 300, I watched it last night. It was surprisingly enjoyable for me. The movie in general was simple and straight forward. The cinematography and the graphics etc were impressive. The movie had a good script too, unlike other war movies like ummm Black Hawk Down or King Arthur. Gerard Butler did a great performance but really, the star of the show, in my eyes, would be Dilios played by the very versatile David Wenham (who was Faramir in LOTR and Carl in Van Helsing). His narration really pulled the whole show together, and I guess that's why the whole movie didn't fall apart halfway through. It would be better if they could cut down on the slow mo Matrix-like action scenes. But generally, I was really impressed. The guys would probably enjoy the show a lot more with blood, limbs and even heads all over the places. But ah, semi-naked sword/spear wielding men with 8-packs in action. Need I say more? And of course, one can't help but hope that they miiighhhtt play KoC in the middle of the movie, or in the credits. But sadly, no.
  10. Yeah there was a really great article in the Star the other day concerning our current concert-music scene. I thought it was cleverly written. Also read this interview cum article in Malay Mail today. It's really long though! But definitely worth the read I love the italicized quotes towards the end of the article.
  11. Woah! Muse playing Apocalypse, Feeling Good, Sunburn, Starlight, Plug in Baby, Map of the Problematique and TIRO back to back to back was specacular, awesome and amazing. Those were some of my ultimate fav Muse songs played one after another. My friend and I were both so drained out after TIRO. The crowd was awesome. Minus the inconsiderate smokers (My apologies if there are any here who are smokers). But I think everyone of us in the stadium deserve a good pat in the back for rocking out hard with Muse. I was blown away by the show. I wish they would come back! Tired.Unhappy, thank you so much for sharing the videos! Hats off to you for uploading them so quickly and everything. Awesome pictures from the crowd. Again thanks for sharing, guys. You've made this experience even more memorable.
  12. Ooh, I hope your offer still stands? If that is so, I'm definitely interested in getting one of the tickets. ----- As for the meetup on the 24th. I'm hoping I can make it, but thing is, it's the week after CNY and I have no idea if I'm supposed to wait on my relatives. If i'm not wrong, the Hokkiens celebrate this 8th/9th day of CNY thing during the midnight of the 9th CNY day. Or something like that. Sadly, that happens to fall on the 26th Feb, morning. Meaning, if I'm going for the Muse concert, I'll have to give up my family traditions for it Ah, the things we do for the sake of music.
  13. I concur Only problem is, I believe the majority of you here will be in the Pitt, whereas I only bought the Rock Zone tix.
  14. Rock the World crowd is certainly craaazy. But I do agree with your earlier post stating that they're mostly school kids with a LOT of energy. I sure hope the crowd in the Muse concert will never be a repeat of RTW, if yes, then I need to find a group to stand together with. Pronto. I for one, and I'm sure many of us here too, love going to concerts mainly because of the music, and not just for the purpose of trashing other ppl in the event of rocking out to the music. It's fine that you're rocking out, but please, please do not get other people involved or injured. As for the more bananas loving Muse comment, I cannot agree more with you. Lol. I'm actually thrown in a crowd of mandarin speaking people in college, and when you ask who's going to Muse, they'll all look at me and go ?!?????. But if you ask them about the LeeHom concert, oh well, I guess you guys know the answer to that. I suppose it's the same when they ask us about chinese bands and that we hardly know anything about them, I think it's just the different culture and way that we're all being brought up. But ultimately however, I think all of us are there and we're all connected in one way or another for one reason. That we're there for the purpose of great rockin' Muse music. Let the countdown begin. 29 more days til we see Muse!
  15. Hello there. I've been lurking around the msg board for quite some time now, finally coming out of my hiding place to catch up with fellow Malaysian Musers. So yeah, hi. I got my Muse concert tickets (RockZone) the other day @ Sg. Wang. Came around 12.15pm with another friend (that I dragged along) and the queue was already close to the KFC entrance. I was really surprised and impressed to see Muse fans queueing up for hours. And oh, it'll be cool to meet other 'real' Muse fans on that day. I can honestly say that none of my classmates from college know who or what kind of songs Muse plays. It's depressing. But anyway, after reading a couple of concert experiences from the Singapore thread, I find myself vaguely afraid of being trampled all over come Feb 25th. Of course, what's a rock concert without a little bit of moshing right? But yeah. I was at Rock The World 7 recently and the crowd at the main stage was crazy. I just hope most Muse fans would be decent enough to rock out to the music and not just push people like crazy. All in all though, I can't hardly wait for the actual event. We've been deprived of good concerts for so long! (Last main event worth mentioning: Incubus @ bkt Kiara.)
