  1. Welp, I finally gathered my thoughts, and posted a review at my blog. Hope it's ok (be gentle, folks!) https://goo.gl/GfNKBQ Absolutely love it overall, although I can kind of see why it's dividing the fanbase. It's a bit bizarre, but I feel that makes it more wonderful!
  2. Can't stop listening to this album! As a whole package, it's the best album they've released for years, and the most creative they've been for a very long time. Algorithm is one of their best openers. I still don't know how/where I'd rank stuff. I'm still trying to process it all.
  3. Not as bad as I thought it would be, it's just ok. Still feels like My Chemical Romance meets an opening to an anime though.
  4. Know the feeling tbh. Listening to the leak early feels like peeking at your Christmas presents before opening them on Christmas Day, it just spoils the surprise for the actual day! I don't get my own logic sometimes...
  5. Gaaah, I wanted to wait until release day, but the hype has me wanting to listen now! Although HMV only shipped my CD out less than an hour ago, so I don't even know if it'll arrive on time. D:
  6. I honestly don't get how anyone can justify paying that much for a ticket, it's a complete rip-off! Yes, I'm aware it's a charity gig, but they clearly jacked-up the price so that the band still get paid. I've known much smaller bands do charity gigs, and get nothing in return. Hell, I've been to entire festivals for less than the price of these tickets!
  7. So Dig Down is a bit boring in my opinion. It's nothing we haven't seen them do before, and it's pretty much just Madness with the energy and soul ripped out of it. I don't think it's bad, and it's far from their worst, but it's just really boring. And Matt says this will be on album 8? If that's the case, my expectations are pretty low. It's a shame really, Drones was a step in the right direction, and now they seem to be going backwards again...
  8. Well, I don't think it's a bad track, and I think it's far from their worst, but it's definitely a bit boring. I have no real desire to listen to it again tbh, but would listen if it were there. The only really decent part was the solo, everything else is pretty much just Madness pt.2, with less engergy. I just hope this isn't a sign of things to come...
  9. Ha! Hopefully this means they'll actually see some sense, and strip the show back again. I can dream though (and they'll still probably overcharge for gigs)...
  10. I know I'm very late to the party, but I see Assassin was played in London on Thursday. Glad it finally made an appearance! I'm pretty gutted for peeps who went to see them in Belfast though, I bet they really feel screwed over! Plus, is it just me, or does JFK > Assassin seem like poor taste, considering the context? Dick moves Muse, dick moves...
  11. Although it does say a lot about the current setlist situation when someone posts a genuinely awesome track, and we instantly realise it's someone trolling. Mind you, it's nice to see that Muse actually have thrown in a few decent surprises recently.
  12. I wasn't just talking about the back-to-back shows, I was also talking about this: If it weren't such a "bombastic" tour, then there wouldn't be these issues (or they'd be less likely.) Long story short, this is a good example of why Muse should strip-back, and not add unnecessary over-the-top production elements.
  13. I knew this entire over-the-top set up was a bad idea, now the issues are really starting to pile up, and it looks like it's costing the fans too. I really hope this is an eye-opener for Muse, and that it convinces them to really scale down in the future (yes, I know there's a lot more people involved, so it isn't entirely their fault.)
  14. Yeah, fair points there, I never thought about it like that, and I guess I got the quote out of context. I still think it's a shame that they've gone so over-the-top with the production, and presentation, when they're perfectly capable of doing mind-blowing performances without all the glitz. Having too much stuff going on just dilutes the entire thing, in my opinion.
  15. Wow, this forum... Seriously though, I do have to agree that Muse have really taken the piss with this tour. I know the pricing is mainly up to the promoters, but they clearly don't give a shit about it, plus the mediocre, short setlists certainly aren't promising. I also hate how hypocritical they've become. Drones is supposed to be an album about finding yourself again, and fighting the powers that be, but they constantly keep selling out (Revolt being Apple Music exclusive, for example.) It's hard to take them seriously anymore. I also remember how, after the Psycho Tour, Muse said that they wanted to "strip back a bit" and "play smaller venues". Yet, here we are, and they've gone with the most OTT setup they possibly could. It is kind of impressive, but I want to pay to see Muse perform, not to see a production. We shouldn't have to pay extra cash for their extravagance either. As for the musical quality, I personally still like Drones, but it's all subjective when it comes to liking the music, I guess. That said, some of Matt Bellamy's lyrics are absolutely fucking terrible. I'm kind of used to that now though (even though it's sad I've had to get used to it.) Overall, I have lost a lot of respect for Muse myself, with some of their terrible decision making, and clearly not giving a crap about the fans. I really hope they get their act together next album cycle.
