    Nope, that's easily single-kick pedal work. Just like Undisclosed Desires (the acoustic version), or Assassin. And Dom with a double pedal - let alone MUSE with a double pedal for the drum kit - worries me slightly. It's one of those things that will either really enhance the song and its heaviness or it'll just be overkill and just ruin it.

    Keep in mind rehearsals and re-learning their own songs. Remembering structures, specific notes, etc.

    Listening to this song with headphones makes it even better than it already is, oh my goodness! And Dom's drum fills in this song are so perfect! Ahh yesss so much win here.

    Yeah, fair enough. Apologies for the emotional reaction - it's definitely an acquired taste for his high notes. His low-mid notes are definitely nice though.

    Haha yeah just to clarify, I say that because it'd have a duet sort of vibe, which, to me, is hella cheesy. Not the female themselves, of course.

    Eh, perhaps two male singers like these two, but anybody else and it'd just be weird. With a female, really cheesy. Oh my gosh Cedric's high notes are awful and piercing!

    OHHH I was thinking he was referring to the DI outro!! Yeah, but the riff works! They've replicated their liveliness on an album, finally - or since OoS which played a lot with feedback, (is that what it's called?) and all.

    pls no collabs. With instrumentalists, maybe, but then that might set higher standards than what Muse alone can produce. Collabs with singers are just cheesy.

    Yes, 5/4 so is!! I'd love to see Muse pull a Dream Theater and have something like 7/16 and what not. Stuff like in The Dance of Eternity. OR even the rhythmic changes in the Munich/Varia Jam where Dom went from straight to triplet beat, and then back again, drastically changing the feel of the music through rhythm.

    What are you on about? Obviously June 9... And if you're talking about a leak (pretty sure you are), you are quite direct about it on a Muse forum. :S

    Ah yeah, you're right on that! Yeah, can't wait to hear rhythmic technicalities in Drones! What I'm talking about would include: polymeters, polyrhythms (not too fussed on these - more of an African or Tool thing anyway), time signature changes, odd time signatures.

    Completely agree on all of that! Even as a drummer, I find drum solos disinteresting as well. And Monty Jam is really something - sure, Helsinki Jam might have some cool bass, but it doesn't make me feel anything as much as Monty Jam does.

    Yeah, And the polymeter sung by the choir near the end in 3/4 against the 4/4 piece really chills me. Hoodoo string section as well - 4/4 against 3/4.
