  1. Isolated System + Drones + Drill Sergeant + JFK + Drones again + MWAH + KOC

Drones + Isolated System + We are the universe + What's he building in there + Drones again + JFK + We are the universe(stadium siren version) + Drones one more time + Drill Sergeant + MWAH + Knights

  2. I feel like we're talking about completely different bands.

Maybe they'll actually put out that hip hop album, and put this to rest.

    Psycho

    SMBH

    The Handler

    Interlude/Hysteria(Back in Black outro)

    Dead Inside

    Micro Cuts

    Munich Jam

    Citizen Erased

    Apocalypse Please

    Plug in Baby

    Mercy

    TIRO

    Reapers

    Stockholm Syndrome

    JFK/Uprising

    Starlight

    MWAH/Knights

Yeah, Muse is a pop band. Provinssi 2015 setlist.

  3. 2009/10/11:

    - The Resistance is released to initial general high praise from fans

    - Fans optimistic for upcoming arena tour

    - Arena tour turns out to be quite a big disappointment, large amounts of complaints from fans and album opinion begins to sour

    - Petitions made for some kind of request/rarity tour

    - Band makes a half-hearted attempt at letting the fans vote for rarities but don't fully follow through with it and get the rest of the tour over with instead

    - Tour officially ends in 2010, band state that the shows in 2011 will be separate from the album era just gone (bar the remaining Russian shows)

    - 2011 consists of U2 support gigs, 3 Russian stadium concerts and US festivals

    - R/L '11 is booked as their only UK show that year, and also the last

    - In March, band announce OOS to played in full (most likely to appease fans after a generally negatively-received era)

    2015/16/17:

    - Drones is released to a lukewarm but generally solid reception from fans

    - Fans optimistic for upcoming arena tour, mainly due to rarities returning throughout 2015

    - Arena tour turns out to be a huge disappointment, large amounts of complaints from fans

    - Petitions made for some kind of request/rarity tour

    - Rumours (later confirmed?) float around that the band is considering a BH&R anniversary concert

    - Band makes a half-hearted attempt at letting the fans vote for rarities but don't fully follow through with it and get the rest of the tour over with instead

    - Tour officially ends in 2016, band post messages on social media saying that the Drones era is finished but that they have "a few things planned" for the near future

    - R/L '17 is nigh-confirmed and would be the only UK show next year that we know of (Matt only ever mentioned US festivals iirc) and tmk would also come last after the US festivals they're rumoured for(?)

  4. It was just quite cringey to watch tbh and felt like another example of the band trying to make us watch anything but them performing. The bit where Matt would go under the stage only for a (pre-recorded?) video of him singing UD to the two 'dead' actors is still potentially the dumbest thing I've seen at a Muse concert.

Jesus fuck I forgot the shit they made for UD. Like I said, Animals was fine for me. Others were, like, meh-to-okay.

  5. Time to use on-stage actors again!

So, tell me, did these forums actually hate the actors used on T2L stadiums? I didn't actually mind it so much, especially what they did with Animals. Okay, I mean, Feeling Good is... well, I put it nicely, bad, whatever you do with it. Guiding Light/Blackout was alright, bit random but okay.

TL;DR: Wouldn't mind if they do it again, as long as it's not on FG.

  6. Tbf, before R/L 2011, you could've said "what are they gonna do, stick some rugby posts on stage?" :chuckle:

Black Holes is indeed a bit more tricky though. As much as I've imagined and dreamt about an anniversary gig, I've never been able to work out how you'd go about recreating the album cover on-stage. I'd be down for some variation of the old satellite thing if needs be, with just a massive screen behind them for album-specific visuals again:.

What about using holograms on the stage with the screens to create the album cover and other fx as well? The tech is developed enough, it could work. The problem would probably be how much it'd cost :chuckle:

  7. Edit: Didn't register with me at first because of how blasphemous it was but I can't believe I actually just read someone suggesting they drop Map.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Map. I'd just rather have something like Butterflies on that slot if Matt can't get his hardware working. When I saw them in Helsinki, it was nice to hear live, but the 1:30-2 min downtime before the song with Matt trying to fix his shit didn't really help the setlist which was already pretty damn bad(TaB and Map were the only semi-rares).

  8. I still don't get why Muse thinks Plug in Baby belongs in the 3rd or even 2nd song slot of a set list, I miss the days of it being an encore song, make um wait

I think the best slot for it is around the 5 last slots before encore, like it was for most of T2L(or at least the summer stadiums).

  9. The meme-set:

    Panic Station

    Unsustainable

    Pink Ego Box

    Muscle Museum

    Micro Cuts

    SMBH

    Showbiz

    *Drones*

    Psycho

    *Isolated System*

    Uprising

    *Dance of the Knights*

    Knights of Cydonia

    *What's he building in there*

    New Born

    *We are the Universe*

    Uprising

    Mercy

    Feeling Good

    Undisclosed Desires

    Stockholm Syndrome

    Starlight

*Waits for the regular posters to get triggered*

  10. Reapers? Defector? The Globalist?

Reapers: Same distortion as in other songs the solo is most likely whammy tho, which I forgot. Approved.

Defector: Flang/phase on bass aaand that's about it. Whammy on solo possibly?

Globalist: Eh... what? I can't hear anything special and if you mean the 'solo', it can be played without wham.

  11. If anything, that interview actually confused me 'cause I seem to remember him saying that bit at the end almost word-for-word after T2L except...they actually kinda already followed through with it on Drones? I mean, it took 'em like 3 or 4 albums of saying it but still. So I can't really imagine what he means by going even more stripped back.

I think a really big part they've either ignored or forgot is the tones they use now. When was the last time you hear Matt going crazy with FF or the whammy in a song(not counting Unsustainable, it's just a clusterfuck of fx)? MK Ultra has whammy I think and it, along with Unnatural Selection, has pretty good guitar dist/fuzz as well.

Matt seriously needs to dust off his DL-1 and start messing with the fx a lot more again. Same with Chris, hearing the same-ish distortion in every song(especially live) is kinda boring. And I know it's much more difficult for live purposes, but as an fx-freak, I'd love to see some new stuff from them in that front :awesome:

  12. Watching/listening/reading any political discussion over the past few years, MK Ultra just plays in my head;

How much deception can you take?

How many lies will you create?

How much longer until you break?

    Your mind's about to fall

People are so adamant that there's only this one reliable source of information, all people are either good or bad and others opinions are just results of brainwash. No doubt some of my views have been manipulated, but I still try to be doubtful and/or find alternative sources about almost everything that I find important and is said in public.

  13. I'm of the opinion that, while not necessarily planned, Agitated and Yes Please were not as spontaneous as every seems to think. They hadn't been touched in 12+ years at that point. No way did they just pull them out of nowhere after all that time and play them perfectly.

For me the most likely scenario is they had rehearsed them recently, possibly while trying to come up with a setlist for Zepp.

Well I mean, if you look at the video, it's really funny, because Dom and Chris almost stop playing when they thought it was only gonna be the riff outro, so Matt turns and looks at them so they see he is actually singing the verse and that is when everyone in the stadium basically goes nuts.

Yeah they probably had rehearsed them earlier, but I mean, come on, TWO of that level of rarities instead of Bliss? Rehearsed earlier? Yeah. Matt just swapped them for Bliss on the spot? Probs.

  14. The problem with this is, from the very first Drones era interview, Matt claimed that he was "trying to get into the mindset" of OoS and CE when writing new material.

And, more specifically in regards to that "magic" moment of seeing Agitated/Yes Please on the T2L gigs... he actually stated at one of those gigs that he was writing songs like those.

So... they did exactly what you're proposing when writing Drones.

(And then not only didn't bring back old songs, but systematically began eliminating the older songs that were still around.)

Yeah it's weird. Like I said at some point, it was like pure insanity when they just went 'fuck setlist' and played Agitated/Yes Please instead of Bliss... Like a damn time machine. They're weird. But amazing. :chuckle:
