  1. I would really like to see them do the whole thing, but throw in some songs that fit well in between.

I mean, assuming I would actually be able to go. :'(

So would I. If I am on my death bed I will have the two, strong men in my family carry me into the arena on a stretcher. I would die happy.:)

Bad news, mate. Matt confirmed they want to do Drones in its entirety.

    But how?

I, for one, am excited to hear Drones live. d:

    But how?

If they do play the whole thing, I'm so damn curious to hear Drones... How will they do that one?

They would have to hire an extra singer just for that as it's in four parts and Dom can't sing in tune.

    i like aftermath

    I love it! :D

  2. Are we bored enough that, if I say this is a thread to list your favorite forum threads, it somehow won't get locked?

    My favs:

    The Resistance Love Thread

    Favorite album thread

    Drones discussion thread(s)

    Middle favorite song thread

let's see how far this goes...

You joined six months ago and you're bored already?

  3. It should be available as a podcast tonight.

Tea is usually taken at 3:40 but it was a little later today, maybe 3:45.

Yes we have tea during cricket matches!

 I live in the UK but I'm not a cricket fan. A friend told me about the broadcast. Lovely to hear Chris for a change.

  4. Can someone put it on YouTube?

    I don't know how.:(

Having watched it I can say that it is a good introduction for people who know nothing about Muse but there was nothing fans didn't already know. It also seems to have been made a couple of years ago as there was no mention of anything after T2L.

  5. Apologies for the mistake. You are right in saying that it is 'Discovering Muse.' It's not a new programme as my daughter is a Radiohead fan and they have shown a programme about them. I've no idea when the series started.

  6. I received the album this morning. I haven't read all the previous comments yet so, if anyone has already mentioned the name 'Palestrina,' my apologies.

I have a degree in music. We had to learn to write in the styles of various composers. I was fine with Bach, Mozart, Debussy etc but I could never, EVER write a piece in the style of Palestrina. There were so many damn rules; I don't know how anyone could write anything that beautiful when there were so many rules, yet here is Matt Bellamy with NO degree writing a piece in the style of Palestrina and it sounds amazing! Forget the words; if he had really stuck to Palestrina's model, they would have been in Latin and very few people would have cared because the music is so wonderful.:D

That's what happens when you don't read the sleeve notes.

As recorded sound hadn't been invented when Palestrina was alive, it's not a cover. As the sleeve notes state, it's an arrangement of a piece by Palestrina. And there I was thinking Matt had written a pastiche!

  8. It's the worst song I've ever heard. Like a sub-par Keane knockoff

Shouldn't you call your self 'Over-dramatic Hammer?'

It's not their best song ever but there are many, many songs worse. Try this one if you don't believe me:

    Mercy

I've had a link already. Not so sure about the song - weakest of the three releases so far I feel. Little bit radio friendly; Guiding light/Neutron star style feel about it.

Definitely but I still like it.:D

  9. Thank you for your helpful feedback :)

I once wrote some songs for a band of which I was a huge fan. It took me weeks to record them - if you don't send a recording, your songs will go in the bin - and I got a standard reply from their agent saying the songs were ' not suitable for the band at this stage in their career.' That was 18 years ago and I haven't written anything since. Trust me: don't send your songs to an established band whose members write their own material. You are certain to meet with rejection which will destroy your confidence.

  10. Matt doesn't need help from fans to write shit lyrics. Move along.

A bit of an assumption there as you haven't seen them. I agree that anyone writing lyrics for Muse is wasting their time. Best to find a musician who can't write lyrics to team up with.

  11. This was on our local rock station out of Wichita, KS

Strange that they won't play in there...even an edited version. I mean....they are from there. But BBC (??) are kind of heavy on their regulations, aren't they?

I added a link if you click on T95, it will take you to their website. Although, I'm not sure if you'll be able to listen being in the UK - some sites are weird like that.

So yeah - I was pretty excited about that. It was kind of weird because I was in the middle of talking with a new friend about the new sound being more like their older stuff. And boom! There it was - unedited. It was crazy good!

I think the only reason we get away with playing stuff like that here is because nobody pays any attention to us in the world! haha

They've probably played it on BBC Radio 1. The only station I listen to that plays Muse is called Nation. It plays 'the best of today's music plus the classics that inspired it' so you can hear Muse, Radiohead, The Killers, Arcade Fire, Arctic Monkeys etc as well as the Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Queen etc. It's totally R & B, rap and hip-hop free :D but it doesn't broadcast all over the UK.

  12. So, we were on our way to our random "beer summit" this evening...and I was listening to T95 and guess what starts playing? Friggin 'Psycho' - (Also...not censored)ed.

    Kansans are

...your "too intense" Muse does not scare us. :p:D

We *heart* you! (Please don't forget us during the tour)

I still haven't heard it on UK radio because I don't listen to Radio 1 but even the station I listen to that regularly plays Muse hasn't played it when I've been listening. Which station was it?

  13. Everywhere. People here seem to have different opinions to other fans. Such as Take a Bow. That's considered average by anyone I've met who's a fan on the Internet and in real life, but here people see it as one of Muse's best.

'Take a Bow' was the song that made me a fan. I've got a good hi-fi but I rarely use it to listen to the radio. One day I did have the radio on and 'Take a Bow' was played. It sounded so amazing that my son and I both bought BHAR.
