  1. It does, the guy escapes and rediscovers love/friendship/whatever the fuck the lyrics are ;) I'll admit, I haven't yet read the lyrics

Loves who though? If everyone else is still in the system and he then goes and destroys the world, it doesn't make sense. Is he trying to lull people into a false sense of security. I reckon listening to Aftermath is what makes everyone in the world kill themselves but that's just a theory....

  2. I don't think you understand the concept. Which is weird since it's been explained in detail.

A journey of entering the system, defecting from the system and creating a system. I get it fine enough. Aftermath as a love song does not fit into this story line whatsoever.

  3. It's what Survival should have sounded like. It's a fun track and would have been ok as an album track if didn't betray the nose dive in quality that marks the second half of the album. It marks a distinct change in tone which doesn't given the supposed 'concept' of the album...

  4. While I won't spoil the setlist, if it was mental as last night's and if the Barrowlands crowd is as mental as usual, this will probably be one of the better gigs anyone has been to in a long time.

Make sure to buy your drinks before the support finishes at 8:30. 7 hours to go!!!!

  5. Would be kinda annoyed if they used the piano at other gigs.

Maybe it didn't turn up to the gig or they had to repair it. It would explain the unusually guitar based set and dropping some songs that are among the band's own favorites. It's been five years since they have not played undisclosed desires even though it wounds like a lead balloon live...

After hearing about the crowd last night, I fear for the set tonight in Barrowlands.

I agree with predictions above, think I made the same comments in another thread though I think SS will be dropped for Newborn like during the T2L tour.

  6. Funnily enough I was also basing it on the Manics in December, was sure they finished at half 10. I think the weekday curfew is 10.45 but obviously most bands finish in advance of that. My suggestion would be, if you're going to be in the middle of things for most of the show, get out during the encore break and watch from nearer the exit so as soon as they finish you can bolt and make it back in time.

Good thing about the manics, when you hear design for life, the gig is over!

They finished 10:40, I left at 10:30 ish just in case.

    Are you on FD?

  7. I will also be going back to Aberdeen, but I think 11:00 is too risky :/

15 minutes is enough to run to the bus station from the Barrowlands. Did it back in December for the Manics. If you plan to hang about for the 3:40 bus, let me know. Could do with the company if I'm sticking around for five hours!

On Musewiki, there's two support acts so I'm not so sure about the 10:30 finish. I think the Manics finished at 10:45 and they started at 8:45!!!! I guess I can plan after we see the Belfast gig, if they end with Knights of Cydonia or Starlight, I'll happily skip!
