It does, the guy escapes and rediscovers love/friendship/whatever the fuck the lyrics are I'll admit, I haven't yet read the lyrics
Loves who though? If everyone else is still in the system and he then goes and destroys the world, it doesn't make sense. Is he trying to lull people into a false sense of security. I reckon listening to Aftermath is what makes everyone in the world kill themselves but that's just a theory....
-
I don't think you understand the concept. Which is weird since it's been explained in detail.
A journey of entering the system, defecting from the system and creating a system. I get it fine enough. Aftermath as a love song does not fit into this story line whatsoever.
-
It wasn't a concept album, quite clearly Mercy, Dead Inside and Aftermath have nothing to do with the concept of Drones and references were shoehorned in. Them along with Revolt are relics of the T2L era...
-
Day 2: Denial.....
(this could be the basis more Muse's next concept album....)
-
It's what Survival should have sounded like. It's a fun track and would have been ok as an album track if didn't betray the nose dive in quality that marks the second half of the album. It marks a distinct change in tone which doesn't given the supposed 'concept' of the album...
-
Am I only one who immediate who thought of this when I first heard Aftermath...
-
I bloody wish....
-
Jesus, you guys are too easy to fuck with
Thought Matt when he said the Globalist was Citizen Erased 2....
It is nothing of the fucking sort, there's whistling for christ sake!
-
That half of Drones you haven't heard yet. Cool story bro'.
A friend who works in a record store in Ireland brought it home.
Can't wait til people blow their shit when they listen to the track Drones...
-
well, I will never excited about a muse album again, the 2nd half of Drones and T2L should be combined and jettisoned into space.....
-
Well my friend runs a music store in Ireland and they've just received the physical CDs....not long....
-
Ah shit, Big Freeze part 2....
-
While I won't spoil the setlist, if it was mental as last night's and if the Barrowlands crowd is as mental as usual, this will probably be one of the better gigs anyone has been to in a long time.
Â
Â
Make sure to buy your drinks before the support finishes at 8:30. 7 hours to go!!!!
-
Would be kinda annoyed if they used the piano at other gigs.
Â
Maybe it didn't turn up to the gig or they had to repair it. It would explain the unusually guitar based set and dropping some songs that are among the band's own favorites. It's been five years since they have not played undisclosed desires even though it wounds like a lead balloon live...
Â
Â
After hearing about the crowd last night, I fear for the set tonight in Barrowlands.
Â
I agree with predictions above, think I made the same comments in another thread though I think SS will be dropped for Newborn like during the T2L tour.
-
I won't be going till 7 so there better be some meaty mosh pits.
Â
Just remembered I've only been to the Barrowlands in Summer, is there a cloakroom?
Â
Â
Pretty sure there was one when I was there in December....
-
9PM start and 10:30 PM finish.
-
Anyone have an idea of stage times for this tour, have a 23:00 bus to catch tomorrow and need a fifteen minute run!
-
Funnily enough I was also basing it on the Manics in December, was sure they finished at half 10. I think the weekday curfew is 10.45 but obviously most bands finish in advance of that. My suggestion would be, if you're going to be in the middle of things for most of the show, get out during the encore break and watch from nearer the exit so as soon as they finish you can bolt and make it back in time.
Good thing about the manics, when you hear design for life, the gig is over!
They finished 10:40, I left at 10:30 ish just in case.
Are you on FD?
-
This place is open til 3 so I think I'll crash there if I miss the 23:00 bus
-
I will also be going back to Aberdeen, but I think 11:00 is too risky :/
15 minutes is enough to run to the bus station from the Barrowlands. Did it back in December for the Manics. If you plan to hang about for the 3:40 bus, let me know. Could do with the company if I'm sticking around for five hours!
On Musewiki, there's two support acts so I'm not so sure about the 10:30 finish. I think the Manics finished at 10:45 and they started at 8:45!!!! I guess I can plan after we see the Belfast gig, if they end with Knights of Cydonia or Starlight, I'll happily skip!
-
Need to get a bus at 11:00 back to Aberdeen or wait until 3:40... (does anyone know somewhere to chill out and read in Glasgow into the wee hours of the morning?)
Will there be a support act for these gigs?

Why not call the album 'friendzoned', it would make so much more sense...
