    The outro is definitely my favourite thing we've heard from the album so far.

    I kind of get the sense that they're trying to progress into a harder, heavier band, but they're a bit reluctant to let go of the fun they've been having with the last few albums. This could well turn out to be a middle album between styles, like BH&R. Or, maybe they just don't give a shit. The song?

    Simple, swap the first half of Dead Inside with the first half of Madness, and you have one good song, one absolutely atrocious one.

    I think people would just prefer good songwriting. If you wonder why people typically prefer OoS and Absolution, that's why.

    It's like they just tried to replicate what made Madness good, but it feels so forced. If they had explored the weirdy, dirty, saturated guitar riff a bit more and worked that into an outro I would've probably loved it.

    One of my fears with Muse doing a concept album was that they might try to shoehorn the themes into the songs, regardless of the fit. Sigh.
