  1. Thanks!

I'm so glad they have that proshot, it's so much fun to watch! I watch live videos all the time. When I was at the concert, I didn't know when Uprising would start so when it did I was totally taken by surprise. Then MoTP was just amazing. They were all amazing . Even Guiding Light and Undisclosed Desires. I miss it sooo much. I really hope Lollapalooza works out, though that goes without saying! Hearing everyone sing and clap to Starlight was great! I hope he does too! I will certainly remind him to

The guy said it's supposed to be an earthquake that hits every part of the earth at 6 PM in their local timezone. Didn't realize God recognized our timezones . So it'll start in Japan/eastern Asia and will hit us last. If I actually knew I had only a few days to live, I don't know what I'd do. Part of me would want to go to the Muse gig in Ukraine but most of me would want to stay here with my family and friends

Yes, I remember hearing that too. I also have Time is Running Out playing in my head :chuckle:

Six more! Oh that's really lucky! :D

 Awesome! Yeah I get that. Like the last show for any of the plays I've worked on is bittersweet

That'd be great! I really hope it's not just a basic setlist

  2. I just realized my post from a few days ago was on my own profile . You found it though!

    Yes I'm glad about that

When the curtains fell on the towers and Uprising started...that was one of the best moments of my life :awesome:. I was going insane it was so amazing. I sang at the top of my lungs in my horribly off-key voice. I can hear myself sing in the videos my friend took :$

    Hopefully I'll change it! :D

    :(

It's so much fun! Ah, I sound like such a dork but everyone in my class likes it a lot too

Yeah, thats what it is actually I think. I think it's crazy too, but I can't help but be a little worried :chuckle:. I feel bad for the people who spent their live savings thinking that the world will end. They're going to be so mad when it doesn't end. I'd sue the guy

    Me too!

Yes I cannot wait, I'm so excited

I'm glad it went well! Don't worry about! I love talking to you . Good luck at the concert! Aw, that's sad but I'm sure it'll be really great

I'm excited to see what the setlist is for the Muse show in Ukraine tomorrow! Hopefully they put in some rarities

  3. I'm sure I'd really like it. Just have to wait till it comes out on DVD

I'm so glad! Muse are just so amazing live! You're so lucky. Well, I've already gotten to see them once so if I get to go to Lolla it won't be fair anymore :chuckle:

Oh, I see what you mean. We only have two main parties who could never get along . There is so much partisan fighting in American politics it's infuriating

If only there was some way to play...

 I doubt I could have done any better!

It's going pretty well! I still really love it even though it's a ton of work. I've made a lot of my documents now so soon I've got to start making the actual presentation part

Random thing: have you heard about the guy who thinks the world is going to end on the 21st? What do you think about that

School is so close to ending! I've just got to keep it up for these last few days

    How's school going for you?

  4. Thanks . Yeah I really want to see it. I feel like I'd end up crying though :(

Well they'll just have to learn won't they! :awesome::party::dance: I'm so glad! That will be so amazing! I'm so happy/jealous :D.

What exactly do you mean by coalitions?

I don't know if I'd beat you, I'm not that good. I'm sure it'd be a pretty close match :D

 That's pretty funny. That is really confusing! I think I understand...maybe. I also think it sounds fun, even though I'm not entirely sure I get it

    Sounds like a blast :chuckle:

Yes it's so close! Eight days of school left. Got a lot of projects going on now though. I think I can get them all done though

  5. It's really alright! I've gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me typically. No, I didn't. I wanted to but unfortunately I haven't gotten to

Well good luck! I really hope you get to :awesome:.

They're pretty good! No Muse, though. In my opinion at least. So none of your friends like Muse? :(

I agree with that, seems pretty obvious to me  but obviously there was some reason why they did it like that originally

Europe is pretty tough to hold, though if you can get Africa too you're in a pretty good position. I really wish we could too! That'd be so much fun :D. Never played Dutch Blitz, what is it?

    I'll have to consider it

Ohhh, I get it. Well it actually sounds like a pretty fun/scary/dark game. Maybe I should play it. If only I had more time to do all of this :chuckle:

    You're welcome

  6. It's not that bad usually and I've been working on it through speech therapy, but it's still there :(

Thank you, so do I! Going to Reading would be so cool! Oh my gosh that would be amazing. Getting to hear some of those songs, too! I like MCR too! Don't know that much of their stuff but my friend made me an MCR mix CD and I made her a Muse mix CD. Anyway, I really hope you get to go, that would be so cool

I just think whoever has the majority of the popular vote should win

I used to go for Australia first also, but once you get it it's pretty much a dead end. I only go for Europe if I start with a lot of countries there. I do too! It is really fun. Yeah, I mostly play board games with my parents and then Risk with my friends

I feel like I should buy some of these computer games because I really would like them. SimCity was just amazing

I actually don't know much about Doom. What is it and why does it deserve a facepalm? :chuckle:

    You'll do amazingly!

  7. I wouldn't mind public speaking except that I have a stutter (maybe it's called stammer in Canada, I know that's what it's called in England) which is usually pretty mild but when I'm talking in front of a lot of people it gets pretty bad. Thanks though

If it's on TV, I will try! Not yet, we haven't tried to talk to my parents again. Are you going to get to go to any Muse gigs this summer? I think there's one in San Fransisco

Yeah, it doesn't fit with the whole "government by the people, for the people" ideal that America was started on

I play my dad sometimes too. I have a couple friends who can play, but they're all a lot better than I am. Risk is so much fun! I get so into it. I like taking Africa and South America, or North America and South America. What about you? In Scattergories you have a die with most of the letters on the alphabet on it and you roll it and start a timer and each player has a list of 12 categories (brand name, thing you would bring on vacation, desert, weapon, disease, stuff like that). So say you roll an A, every player tries to come up with one thing for as many categories as possible. Then when the timer goes off, everyone goes around and reads theirs and the other players decide if they work or not. The player with the most wins. I also really like Apples to Apples :awesome:

I never played that but I really think I would like it. And the Civilization series. The only computer game I played was SimCity, which I loved

That sounds great! I'm sure you'll do a great job

  8. Thank you! I just need to maintain my work ethic for these last two weeks, which I might be able to do :shifty:. I'm pretty sure we are presenting them. I'm excited for that part, though public speaking isn't my strong suit (kind of a problem if I want to be a politician)

I actually don't know it it's televised or not. That would be awesome, though

Well thank you! I'll certainly keep using it. Yes, it would be quite the drive

    :(. It is

You're welcome! Anytime! Yeah that would've been really frustrating and. I think the electoral college should be done away with. I really don't see the point. It was meant to be a check on the excess of power the masses could have, but I don't really see how it accomplishes that goal

That always annoyed me, because it's really not all that hard to learn the basics. Yes, I absolutely love it. My friends and I play a lot. I've never played Lord of the Rings Risk, just the regular version. I love Monopoly too! And Taboo, Scattergories, Scrabble.

    :chuckle: I would've too

I've got to spend a lot of time working on my final projects but I was able to hang out with my friends tonight which is good. How about you?

  9. It's going to be a lot of work to find out all the research because I've got to have a reason why the invasion failed, I can't just say it did. I think I'm going to do something about the weather conditions made them turn around. One of my friends is doing if John Brown's raid on Harpers' Ferry had succeeded (not sure if you know what that is or not, but it was basically a guy trying to start a massive slave revolt). Another one of my friends is doing if the Bay of Pigs invasion was successful and we had killed Castro. Not all of them are about wars, I just can't think of any others at the moment :chuckle:. Oh well, being a dork isn't a bad thing!

Hopefully he will! Maybe if I go to Lollapalooza I'll make a sign :dom:

Yeah I just then realized it might be lipstick, but your explanation is better because it makes me feel less dumb. I'll just stick with that one :yesey:. Aw, thank you! My friends and I actually joked about driving to Vancouver this weekend. That would be quite the drive though

    :D Good

I don't know when, exactly, I just remember hearing about it somewhere

Well, we have this (incredibly dumb) thing for presidential elections called the electoral college. Each state has a certain number of votes, which are based on number of senators (every state has two) and number of congressional representatives (based on the population of the state). This means that states with bigger populations have more electoral votes than states with small populations. For instance, California has 55 while Missouri only has 10 and South Dakota only has 3. If a presidential candidate receives the majority of the vote in a certain state, he (or she) gets all the electoral votes from that state. A candidate needs 270 votes to win the election. So, because of this system, it is possible that a candidate can receive fewer popular votes than his opponent but still win the election. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election,_2000. Al Gore had 48.4% of the popular vote compared to Bush's 47.9, but Bush had 271 electoral votes compared to Gore's 266. So all in all, a system that needs to be changed

I never know what to do! Chess is fun, even though I'm awful. I love Risk :awesome:. :chuckle: Don't worry about it. Ah, I hope it doesn't either! It rained a ton when I was in Vancouver

I'm glad it was still fun!

  10. Thanks! I'm really excited to work on it (such a dork :$). That's a really good one! I feel like someone in my class might be doing something pretty similar

    Wonder why?

I think Dom should wear an astronaut costume at a concert! :chuckle:

 Makes me happy just thinking about it. I'm glad you do! I don't see us stopping anytime soon either. Also, I just now realized that kissing emoticon is probably supposed to be a girl (see the lipstick?). Oh well :chuckle: Thanks!

:awesome: And you should feel free to talk physics! (not that I would understand a lot of it)

What's really awful is Hitler actually complemented America on how well we exterminated the Native Americans :(

That has to be one of the best  Oh, goodness those are bad. I can't believe we elected him, TWICE. Although technically Al Gore got more popular votes in the 2000 election but Bush won because of the electoral college

I'm not really a big dance person either! I feel all awkward and just end up standing around. I probably would've ended up playing chess there too. I did have fun at prom but in general I'm not really into that kinda thing. Well I'm sure you'll have a good time! :D

    I'm glad! Me too, mostly

  11. No not at all. For our history final project, we have to choose an event in American history and change it and write about what affect it would have and I've chosen if the Normandy Invasion had failed and therefore Russia defeated the Nazis by itself and gained control of most of Europe, turning it communist. I'm pretty excited about it. We get to create primary source documents (like fake newspaper headlines and speeches) from the time and it sounds so awesome :D:awesome:

Yes there is, it's also called the Marxist-Leninist Party. I imagine it's not very popular though

Yes, I agree :noey:. Me too!. That is a cool site but unfortunately I can't find the belt!

There's always a chance though! It would be really great if it did happen . (Just as a warning this is going to be really mushy) but meeting you would be really cool because you're really awesome and I'm so glad we've talked so much :kiss:

Well thanks! I enjoyed explaining all that

Oh wow that's really interesting. There were a lot of Chinese people on America's west coast too, also to work on the railway. I know a lot of Native Americans tried to escape into Canada to avoid persecution as westward expansion continued. Also during the Vietnam War thousands of Americans went north to avoid the draft

:chuckle: I'm sure. Have you seen the one "I believe that human-beings and fish can coexist peacefully"?

When's your prom? :awesome: I bet you're excited!

:chuckle: Yes i suppose that's probably it. But still, you're really close!

  12. Yes, that would be correct! We really hate communism over here in America

 I'm not even sure what those are called. But who would wear one of those, honestly? Who even came up with the idea to manufacture them? *High five received* Oh well, at least they appreciate us for who we are. You have a belt with the theory of relativity on it? :chuckle::awesome:

Wouldn't that be cool if we actually got to meet! Very unlikely :(, but possible. I really hope we do actually, but I don't see how that could happen. Oh well, there's always a chance

Well after the French and Indian War, the British wanted to appease the Native Americans so they made the Proclamation of 1763, saying colonists couldn't go passed the Appalachian Mountains, which is something they wanted to do. More importantly though, Britain passed the Stamp Act of 1765, taxing basically any paper products. Colonists were angry that they were being taxed without a representative in parliament Colonists boycotted all British goods and eventually British merchants lost so much money that they demanded a repeal and so the British passed the Declaratory Act in 1766, repealing most taxes but saying Britain still had the right to tax (the colonists ignored the last bit). Also in 1765 the British passed the Quartering Act, saying British troops had the right to stay in colonists' homes. Britain then passed the Townsend Duties, which were basically tariffs. Colonists protested this and British troops ended up killing several colonists in the "Boston Massacre" of 1770. Enforcement of these Duties was avoided by smuggling. In 1773 Britain passed the Tea Act, allowing the East India Trading Company to ship tea directly to the colonies with a slight tax, making it cheaper than smuggling, but the colonists were against the idea of a monopoly on tea and were against the tax and would much rather pay more for smuggled tea. Britain demanded the colonists take the tea of the ships so the colonists, not wanting to pay taxes, dumped it into the harbor in what's now called the Boston Tea Party. In response Britain passed the Coercive Acts, shutting down Boston Harbor and sending over British troops, among other things. The colonists began to ready a militia and when the Brits tried to confiscate colonial weapons at Lexington and Concord, fighting began. The colonists still wanted to be a part of England and petitioned to King George to reign in parliament, but he ignored them and the war started :awesome:

Probably more than you wanted to know . That's a lot of writing :$

Ah, I see. In the US, many people went to the west coast for gold or good farming land and much of the plains were settled by either farmers, ranchers or miners

Oh I see. Ah well, not like that really bothers us! :chuckle: Must be a good poster

    I know! :awesome:. You will!

Oh, that makes sense! I'd rather start late and end late:  That's rough

  13. That's so great! :awesome:

    I getcha

  14. Just saw Vancouver won! Congratulations!:party::D

  15. We had one after WWII but the first one came after WWI. I had no idea actually

Ah, I see :D. Yes, they all think I'm a little weird :chuckle:, totally okay with that though. Now I get it! Boy, Bush is dumb. Certainly glad he's gone. I really don't know. I'm not sure what part of the country calls it what. We call it dinner. What do you call it?

You should definitely go to the East Coast! And Saint Louis :awesome:

And I could tell you about all the events that led the US to start fighting :chuckle:

I'd like to know how the exploration settlement of west/north Canada compares to the exploration/settlement of the western US

Well thank you . Nah me neither. No interest and it's not legal for me either. 21 is the limit in the States. Is it 18 in Canada? So many Bush jokes

Yes! Only 15 more school days. Oh well, you'll make it

We start around the 20th of August usually. How about you guys?

  16. Well that is good, they seem to have pretty similar views, besides the whole Quebec being free thing

Yeah it's terrible. The the KKK kind of went away again until the 1920s, due to the large influx of immigrants. Congress ended up passing a bunch of laws restricting immigrants during that time. Partly due to the Red Scare. Was it really? That's surprising

Uh, I guess but not just in the cold. My friends look at me like that anyway though :chuckle:. I've never heard of that. Sounds pretty good actually. I think most people in America call it pop but in Saint Louis we call it soda

I really want to go back sometime soon, especially to Vancouver. Well at least you haven't been involved in ridiculously dumb wars like we have. Smarties are important!

Oh, I see. Interesting how Canada and the US can be right next to each other but take totally different approaches to being colonized

Yes it does . So does Alabama and some other parts of the south. I would like to know some stuff about Canadian history though

Well we do have that attitude, and it's pretty annoying actually. I haven't had beer/alcohol either, so don't worry, you aren't alone! Americans make fun of Bush too so that's alright

    You'll get it, I'm sure

 You're welcome. Ours ends on May 27. So close! Jeez that's awhile away

  17. Hm, I guess I do kind of feel bad for them

Yeah, it's pretty awful. That's what really let the KKK come to power also

OH :chuckle: yes those are called beanies in the States. I'll start using that word now and my friends will all look at me like :wtf:. I haven't eaten nor heard of poutine. What is it? Let's see... Do you call Pepsi/Coke/Sprite/etc soda or pop? A lot of people here call it pop but I think that's mostly in the south

 Okay sounds good. Well both times I've been to Canada the people have been really nice, so i think it holds true for the most part. Well not that everything the US has done on the international scale has been good  so it's not necessarily a bad thing. 1982? I didn't realize it was that recent

 Those aren't that bad though

I don't know, he was in Arkansas after all :chuckle:. I feel like a lot of Americans are just uninformed though

    :awesome: Good

    You're welcome. I bet you got a 5!

Alright, I will try not too

 Thank you! I hope so

You're really sweet thank you. When is your school year over?

  18. Oh I see the problem. Have they always wanted this?

Yeah it's unbelievable. In order to keep the Democrats happy, the Republicans came up with the Compromise of 1877 where they basically agreed to withdraw all remaining Union troops who had been occupying the south after the Civil War. This led to a huge increase in violence against former slaves and allowed for discriminatory and segregationist laws to be put in place

What does tuque mean? I've never heard of that. It seems like it might be a French word, or at least have come from French origins

 I don't know. Mostly people joke about how Canada hasn't really "done" anything on like the international scale and how you're all really really nice :chuckle:

I'm glad! Weird Al is so funny

 That was so great! God that makes Americans look dumb :$. Even though a lot of Americans really are that dumb. Come to think of it, I'm not sure I know the capitol of Canada. Is it Ottawa?

:yesey: It would be so amazing :awesome:

That's probably a good thing though, you don't want to dwell on it and worry which questions you got wrong (which I'm sure was a very small number!)

I hope so! It was bad though. Ah well

Yeah thank you! I'm really hoping for a 5 and I think on this one it's pretty possible

 Okay I'll try not to worry. Thanks

    Yes! Me too

  19. As in making it an independent country? Interesting. Well it seems like beyond that the BQ and NDP have relatively similar interests so that makes sense. It'll be interesting to see

 It is. President Hayes really did win by just one vote, though it wasn't a regular vote. Basically the election was disputed so they made this special panel that was supposed to have 7 democrats, 7 republicans and one independent on it to decide the election, but the one independent died so they replaced him with a republican (dumb, I know) so Hayes won 8-7

Yep, for awhile there were Brits and Americans in the territory but that obviously wasn't going to work. I think it was about gold

:chuckle: We make jokes about Canadians quite often, though I'm sure yours are more valid

 Making fun of Americans and Canadians at the same time! That was really funny. Have you heard Canadian Idiot? It's Weird Al's parody of American Idiot by Greenday. It makes fun of America too, :LOL:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W_fOttyeq3M

They've got to fix it a lot because most of the states are against it

I know! Thanks! I'm really excited

:chuckle: You should. That would be :awesome:. That's pretty funny

Well, AP Lit was really hard and I'm not sure how I did. Probably a 3

APUSH was much better, but I felt like my essays weren't as good as they could've been but I'm still pretty sure I got at least a 4 if not a 5. Thanks for wishing me luck  and sorry it took so long to get back to you

  20. Good for them!

BQ needs to rethink their goals I feel like

I love it . I'm glad you did, you're welcome

    :chuckle:

Yep! That was President Polk's campaign slogan when he ran in 1844, but in reality he ended up compromising. The deal was called the Buchanan Peckenham treaty, if I recall correctly. The whole Alaska thing was . Until we discovered oil there, of course. Do Canadians make jokes about Americans?

    Thanks!

Yeah that's what I've heard. Hopefully it doesn't end up like that in America too with the new healthcare system

I'm not sure, I've talked to my parents some and it seems like a possibility at least. Not sure if I mentioned this earlier or not but my sister loves Eminem and he's playing there too so we both want to go really badly

You're welcome. I'm glad you did

I'm sure you did really well! A giraffe! Good idea. Was there one question that involved finding t and apparently no one knew how to do it? At least that's what some people who took the exam at my school were saying

    Thank you!

  21. I was really interested. I'm really happy about that!

Yeah, me too, but I'm sure it'll swing back their way in a few years are so

So I found this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dseIqeigniY. It's a song about all the US presidents through Clinton. I really like it . And the facts they put in there are actually pretty accurate. Hope you enjoy it!

Well thank you! Should be a blast

There was some pretty tense stuff going on in the 1840s between the US and Canada for awhile in the Northeast. (Well I guess Southeast for you guys). It was called the Arastook War and both sides built up big armies but no one was actually killed. It was all about disputed territory. And then there was also dispute about the Oregon territory. Many people in the US wanted all of the Oregon territory, which would've included Vancouver! Imagine if we had gotten that. Anyway now I'm rambling about history

I'm sure you'll be able to do it! You're going to do really well. Yep, studying is going pretty well. English is on Thursday and APUSH is Friday

    :chuckle:

What healthcare issues do you mean? I've heard it takes a really long time to get basic things (like cancer tests and stuff) done in Canada. That was one of the main arguments against universal health care in the US. Is that actually true?

People are treating it like we won't have to fight again :noey:

Good luck tomorrow! You're going to do so well!

  22. Wow well even though the conservatives got the majority the NDP really did well! Thanks for letting me know, that's really awesome! :D

I'm sure you guys will pull it out

Oh alright. For some reason our school doesn't even offer AP English, I'm just taking it because . I'm sure Canadian history wouldn't be that bad! Oh I see. Well too bad you couldn't take it. Calculus is so soon! How's studying going?

The debates seem always to be major things in campaigns even though I feel like too much weight is put on them. But asking someone to debate then backing down :noey::facepalm::LOL:. I really hope they do put them into action, despite the costs

It kind of makes me sad how people have been celebrating like it's a holiday. Yes it's great he was killed but it does in no way mean that the war is over and like you said with the revenge attacks, it could get worse

  23. Is Vancouver expected to win this series?

You could try to convince 'em ;). Nice! :awesome:

Is there an AP Canadian History course? either way that would've been awesome to take. Ah well, history isn't your main subject anyway!

I think it's great when people have a subject that they love.

I really don't see how anyone can be on the authoritarian side. That just doesn't make sense to me :noey:. Oh well

That's amazing! I can't believe they've pulled so close. It does make sense don't worry. Well I'm really glad at least one country looks like it's stepping in the right direction

    :noey: Me either

Probably the same as most people who have APs :chuckle:

Did you hear the news about Bin Laden? Crazy! About time though. Just wish we could've done it right away then pulled out without all the destruction that's gone on over there :(

  24. Tied 1-1 now?

Yeah being sick during exams is :noey:

    Thanks!

Maybe you'll get to eat Mexican food! :chuckle:. :awesome: I bet you're excited

    You will, I'm sure

At least I find it interesting though. I love learning about all of it but I just hope that I'm able to retain all of it. :chuckle: Yes I've figured that out

Well at least that's an improvement! Still not perfect though :shifty:

I'm really excited to hear how it turns out! That could be really big

Yeah, I really hope Donald Trump goes away. I'm not sure if he'd be worse than Sarah Palin but he's pretty bad

It's been good! But lots of studying though. How about you?

  25. I saw that the won! :awesome:. I'm so happy!

 I'm definitely better now. I'm so glad you are too

    I really hope so! :yesey:
