Oh my days, my girlfriend just won 2 tickets in the M.E.N competition! So excited
Congratulations! I entered that and forgot all about it. I haven't won
-
I got to the MEN a few years ago at 11am, French fans put a number on my hand to try and guilt me into queuing in a number order. It all went to shit by around 5pm when everyone was getting in the venue.
Theres also no point numbering when people have to queue and wait for other people who are on the same card as them (like me!) :muse sign:
Its all gonna be madness (haha) when we get in anyway!
It seems me and you like going to the same gigs
-
Yeah I'm not worrying about being at the front, I think everyone will move around so much during the gig you probably won't keep your place unless you're right on the barrier.
I'll be in a pub watching football til about half 3, then probably be heading around the back to see if I catch the band entering the venue at about 4, then queueing up 5ish
-
I shall be queuing from 12:00 onwards, gonna have to buy something from Greggs to keep me from starving all day
Depends what time they come on really, could be anytime between 22:30 and 23:00. You could always book it for 23:00 and just wait a bit if the gig finishes early.
12! What a long day. I think I'm gonna go watch Liverpool v United in a pub then queue after that
-
What time is everyone starting to queue?
Also what time do you think it will finish? can't decide whether to book taxi back to hotel before or when the gig finishes
No later than 11pm I'd say. 9pm has been around the time Muse get on stage, half 9 when they were late. You'd probably be okay ringing a taxi after the gig finishes.

Forum after-party?
If I didn't have a train to catch, that would be a splendid idea. I'm thinking of getting in Manchester early and having a few drinks before I meet up with the person getting me in
-
See you all on Sunday then, unbelievably lucky!
-
I'm so excited, I missed out on presale and general but managed to cling onto the coattails of someone selling a ticket on the board, I've been so lucky.
Never been this excited about a Muse gig before
-
when do you think the guys will start meeting the crowds before the gig? hopefully they will like they have with the first few gigs.. ie. what time are is everyone getting there for? and also does anyone know what the venue is like? good views? etc etc
half 4 is time time I will be hanging around to see if they come say hey but I honestly have no idea what the best time will be, I guess its down to luck. As for the venue, obviously smaller than Muse are used to recently, I'd say view will be fine wherever you are! Unless you're small that is

Christ on a bike..

I think instead of "Oh, its becoming a killing field" its "Home, its becoming a killing field"
Oh yeah, I suppose that fits a lot better than just "Oh"
-
Guitar in chorus and pre-chorus, mainly.
as soon as I heard the verse I thought classic rock, but more Iron Maiden than AC/DC
-
Saw some interpretations of the lyrics knocking about so I thought I'd post my own
Verse
Oh, its becoming a killing field
theres a crosshair locked on my heart
with no recourse, and there is no one behind the wheel
Hellfire, you'll .....
killed by
Drones etc
Chorus
We will rise in the city
the world is on our side
so wake up and see....
they have been radicalised
Verse
War, Wars just moved up a gear
I don't think I can handle the truth
and I'm just a clone
and we're all expendable
its a .....
electronically erased, by the
Drones etc
Chorus
We will rise in the sea/city
the world is on our side
To become reapers and horsemen
Now I am radicalised
.....mind control
the world is on our side
to become radicalised
......
-
Well, about the chorus,I also don't like how different it is from the verses melodically, they sound like two different songs.
After several listens, the flow, melody and overall song has improved for me. Again, I am reserving judgement until 8th June
-
Where is your avatar from? It cracks me up every time I see it.
Ha, I honestly don't know I just keep funny pictures saved and that was one of them
-
Chorus melody has been said to sound like a Madonna song, but obviously that doesn't make it sound "80s/90s disco"
-
oh and "electronically erased by the....DRONES" end of verse 2
-
Love
Is becoming a killing field
There's a crosshair locked on my heart
With no recourse
And there's no one behind the wheel
Hellfire
You're walking in the crossfire
Drones!
Drones!
We will rise in the sea
Bodies on the shore
Take off ************
Now I am ready to know
[Verse 2]
War
Watch us to **** here
I don't think I can handle the truth
And it's just too cold
And we're all expendable
**********
They're trying to get around the ********
Drones!
Drones!
[Chorus]
We will rise in the sea
Bodies on the shore
To become reapers and horsemen
Now I am ready to know
We will rise in the sea
Bodies on the shore
Take off ************
Now I am ready to know
Too much thought control
Bodies on the shore
To become reapers and horsemen
Now I am ready to know
"...ready to know" sounds like radicalised to me and I hear "war, wars just moved up a gear" in verse 2
-
Perhaps. It does sound improv . But I can also imagine him doing this improv style solo on the recording. I would be surprised if they key change was not the album bc that would be over the top improv !
It definitely gets wanky, but I love it when the solo continues over the chorus with no vocals, probably my favourite part. Not sure if thats what you mean by the key change or not.
-
After several listens, still not liking it. Also The key change during the solo is quite face palmy .
I still think a lot of that solo was improv, excited to hear it on album
-
I think I am going to love the final polished song on the album. I love the 2nd half of the solo that leads into the chorus. Yeah the outro sounds a lot like Freedom and that takes away from it a little bit for me.
Could be better, could be a lot worse
-
Might've already been said but is Chris screaming "drones" during the outro riff?
