  1. same goes for The Void and RBS
  2. because Isolated System wants to have a word
  3. It sounds like Matt to me, I think he's done (at least the main layer of) all of the whispered vocals on this album
  4. Video for BITM is nice but kind of irrelevant to the point of the lyrics as far as narrative goes. Would have been nice to see some kind of multi-character interaction, maybe between Terry and Matt since it's implied Matt is the creator It was a very good call for them to multitrack the synth bass over electric bass, it's smooth.
  5. They are the tits, I wasn't disagreeing there What's everyone's take on the acoustic guitar solo? Would you have preferred a distorted Manson MBK1 humbucker tone on there or leave as is?
  6. I actually think this vocal melody is one of his best in the past 10 years, it's not as forcefully delivered as Supremacy imo
  7. Oh gotcha. I think those were the drums that they had recorded out in that Instragram snippet ages ago. It doesn't beef anything up but it does fill up space, I think the intro would be a little too sparse without them
  8. Pretty sure the ending bassline is a callback to Dig Down’s message of faith, tying it in with The Void’s lyrical content to close out the record
  9. I think The Void, just like Algorithm work perfectly as they are on the album. I'm glad Matt had the good sense to not retread old ground given the opportunity with either track.
  10. Nah. This sounds like every Prince song ever, Break It To Me sounds like 20/20 era Justin Timberlake. Neither of those comments is a bad thing
  11. Clunge vs. Jobby is the showdown of the century. Also, disagree with you Clunge, the drums are there to beef up the riff. Same thing live; it'll sound massive
  12. Look up Microphone Fiend by RATM; halfway mark
  13. Also for you guys doing repeat listens, listen more closely to the stuff that's already been released. The 303-like synth in The Dark Side's been made louder in the mix, the guitars in Thought Contagion are louder while the chorus vocals are quieter, and Dig Down has new synths throughout.
  14. Disagree, album version fits better sonically. The alternate version definitely seems to have been a love letter to the older fans. Key word: evolved, it's more or less the same notes minus the hammer ons
