    Alex: pretend tv cop

    Nick: pretend lollypop

    Paul: pretend singlet top

    Bob: pretend hip hop

Your vast appreciation for the Sound and Vision cover... does that mean you like the song now?

  2. I will now make Alex eat pate whenever my joke requires it :chuckle:

hmmm perhaps I should have swapped Bob and Nick's lines in the caption. You are right, it would make more sense that way! :yesey:

    The shoes are awesome :awesome:

  3. Franz+Ferdinand.jpg

Nick: boardgames? yeah we like boardgames!

Alex: yeah... look at what we are doing now... we are skipping!

Paul: what the fudge? this is a photoshoot and skipping isnt even a boardgame

Bob: and where is the skipping rope if we were indeed skipping?

    Alex: it's invisible

Nick: who let Alex near the pate again?

  4. Delayed :yesey: that does sound better!

:chuckle: watching those videos with you was fun!

They can't be too cool for boardgames! I should hope they aren't!

  5. Hello to you too!

I'm just hanging about replying to you (late as usual).

:p I will hop on MSN and reply to you in the LB and then how about we watch the video? Is that okay?

I don't think there is a picture of them playing boardgames... either there isn't one or there is one and we have yet to find it.

Oooooooooh ouch to that scenario! Darts of Pain :chuckle:

  6. :p Regardless of when we start the countdown, I'm sure right now it says 24 hours remaning :awesome:

:p Thanks for the compliment about the Risk caption... now all we need is a picture... ha ha ha this caption is being done backwards (: :p

Throwing darts around is fun... but I too need to improve so said darts don't end up where they shouldn't be :chuckle:

    :yesey:

    picture.php?albumid=154&pictureid=17778

  7. It's perfect just seeing you (which will happen in a day :awesome:) The countdown has begun (if not, it had already begun and I'm just repeating / stating the obvious).

I'd imagine FF's game of choice to be Risk. I don't know why, but I can picture this scenario:

Alex: mwahahahahaha Now that I've taken over Bob's Australia, I can take over the world!

Bob: Not a chance, I have most of Asia and Russia

Paul: I've got reign over much of Europe

    Bob: Europe, shmeurope...

Nick: You lot take this too seriously

Alex: I want to rule the world *pouts*

Bob and Paul: so do we!

    Nick:

Either that or darts (no pun intended at all) :)

Yay for TMO... I'm happy  Not that I wasn't before though!

  8. Can't wait to see you  Don't worry about the food! *hug*

:p Awwww I'm sure they are totally impressed with what you will be studying... it's awesome and you are smart!

We once had a game that lasted three hours... lets just say by the end of it we all went our separate ways and didn't talk to each other for an hour after the game.

I might like Scrabble partly because I am good at it (if I may say so myself) :$

Ha ha ha... truth be told, I think Muse would prefer playing poker....

  9. Blergh... I want to hide under my bed because it seems that might be the coolest place in the house, where there is no sunlight and the tiles are cool :p

Monopoly is fun... when it's a short game that doesn't stretch out for hours on end (today's game, 2 hours; I became bankrupt first :awesome:). Personally I like Scrabble better :chuckle:

Playing with more people definitely makes the game faster so maybe you have an idea by wanting to play Monopoly against Radiohead. It sounds exciting

  10. Hey

Hope your Australia Day has been going great so far :)

I'm about to play Monopoly with my siblings so it can only mean boredom (:p) for me from here on in. I jest. It's not really that boring (to start off with). I don't know why I agreed to it because it usually ends with either one or the other of my siblings getting upset at something.

:p Now I want to know what it would be like to play Monopoly against Muse and Franz Ferdinand.

Hope the rest of your afternoon is awesome *hug*

  11. :yesey: I agree... I remember reading about the "aim, shoot, destroy" and turning Assassin up really loud to try to hear it... and then feeling a little silly for not being able to pick it out.

Chris singing in The Small Print on the Abso DVD is brilliant so I agree too... more songs with Chris in it please!

Would they put TAMTW on the new album if they released it a while ago? I want to hear Super Collider though :yesey:

  12. Alex: Yesssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss PUDDING :awesome::awesome::awesome::awesome::awesome:

Yeah... it's been in front of us this whole time in Assassin and we haven't picked it up. But now we know, so I guess it's better late than never. It is way cool I loved how the song sounded though. I dunno about filtering out Matt so we can here Chris... that might be difficult because they are both similar in terms of vocals against instrumentals.

:awesome: Radiohead! go them! New songs! They deserve the accolades with that set list... even if Thom forgot the words to A Wolf at the Door :chuckle:

  13. Just found this on another thread...

And I know this isn't on The Resistance, but this Assassin a capella shows all the layering work Matt did with the vocals.

I can hear the "aim, shoot, destroy" bit now. I have to admit, I had always thought that specific part was just some sort of distortion.

  14. Nor was I put the proof is in the pudding

Alex: did I hear someone say pudding?

Me: No. Go back to your seven year old pate and nine year old spam. The pudding is for Erica and I only :phu:

Okay. Talk to you later!

  15. :p true... you are right. I have this program that calculates the BPM of the songs... it says that YCHISMB is the fastest at 161 BPM, followed closely by You're the Reason I'm Leaving at 159 BPM, Michael and Anyone In Love at 157 BPM and This Boy at 156 BPM. Evil and a Heathen was 98 so I don't know what's happening there.

Your revised statement makes so much sense :chuckle:

  16. Evil and a Heathen is pretty fast paced... I'd like to see them perform it live... truth be told, it would be fun to hear the song live... it's be great to mosh / dance to.

David Bowie didn't do anything bad to Franz Ferdinand, so I have no idea what he did to deserve those covers.

Alex: did I hear that some one has nine year old Spam? That beats seven year old pate! I'm there!

:chuckle: okay heading to LB now.

  17. :chuckle: Towards the end it sounded like Alex was getting out of breath... that was another thing I noticed :p

Ha ha ha so the punishment of covering FF is having FF cover you... scary :p

Alex: aye... I'm the official profile-sitter... I look after profiles.

  18. :p

    Alex+kapranos.jpg

Ha ha ha ha ha ha that cover...... The instrumental at the start was the best... and then it was alright until the bridge... then it went downhill from there :chuckle:

  19. :wtf: Last time I was here, I tried posting a message for you and it said Doris wasn't working so I saved the message I was trying to send you... but it looks like it appeared anyway... Ah well... at least everything is working now.

I just read your MSN message about your surprise and it sounds brilliant. And it also sounds like you like most of them so that's pretty :awesome: too... I totally trust your judgement about the songs :)

I wish I had my own computer only for the freedom... other than that, I don't mind sharing apart from the times when I want to use the computer and I am being kicked off :p

    Ha ha ha ha

    n2366714192_6362.jpg

the question might be complex but the answer sure isn't... to not have a moustache... duh! (for Alex, having been an English lecturer / teacher, the answer should be clear and simple)

  20. :yesey: it's always a virus... if it were my computer I would get a different virus checker program... sadly it isn't my computer :p

Hope you had a good night's sleep last night too :p I can't imagine what it would be like if the world ended like that. Too much horror and chaos.

Ewwwww I'll bet Alex's moustache made Alex eat the pate :p now I am thinking of the moustache as some evil mind controlling thing that is taking over Alex's brain.

  21. Hmmm more interweb problems are scheduled for tonight I'm afraid. My dad called our internet service provider and they said that we are having problems (again) because some virus has infected some component of our internet connection. They said they are going to fix it today (yay) but they also said that we wont be able to access our internet between 3pm and midnight tonight. Which means I won't be online tonight I'm afraid. I'm so sorry about this :(

Hope you had a good night's sleep even if you went to bed late. And I hope those Muse dreams were nice ones. I had a really weird kinda scary dream that involved the entire Eastern seaboard of Australia. I don't know how or why but I had a dream in which Queensland was about to be ravaged by cyclones, New South Wales and Victoria were under imminent threat of earthquakes and Tasmania was about to experience a bunch of volcanic eruptions. I think it was a delayed reactionary dream from watching 2012:facepalm:

Nice to hear Alex has survived seven year old pate... ergh I just had the mental image of what it might have looked like and I have just eaten lunch :vomit: oh gosh I hope I didn't just make that mental image pop into your head... sorry :$ As for Alex becoming delirious from expired food, I've heard mouldy cheese might do the trick for inducing hallucinations :eyebrows: Maybe Dom can give us some mouldy brie :p

Right that's enough of me being disgusting. I shall be going to the LB now.

  22. Guess who just got their electronic interweb working again?

    *grumbles* Stupid internet.

Sorry about my internet dropping out like that. These inopportune moments where I leave for one reason or another must be annoying for you :(

Poor Alex... hope he isn't unwell from food poisoning or anything horrible like that.

  23. Ohhh *hug* sucks to have lack of sleep. 140 MB... that... huge.

Silly silly Alex. Even a five year old would be smart enough not to eat seven year old pate though. :chuckle: But what an awesome quote from Alex about the pate being a metaphor for his life. He is smart and stupid at the same time :chuckle:

Ha ha... what like prank Muse? That would be hilarious!

Yay for Radiohead for doing that.

  24. You are up at 7:48... and you said you wouldn't get to sleep till late... I hope you managed to get some sleep! How big were those e-textbooks?

Silly Alex is all I shall say on that matter. Seven year old mashed up animal liver cannot be good for you. Blergh it sounds so disgusting.

:chuckle: asking Matt and Dom about the photograph sounds like a funny concept to me... never-the-less, it sounds like a good idea if we ever get to meet them

You aren't being selfish for wanting Thom to ditch the no name band for Radiohead. It's what we all want. What positive things are the no name band doing, they haven't even released any songs.

  25. Because I usually have to leave at the most inopportune of moments...

Because they can? I still think it was a real picture :chuckle: I don't think it's creepy either

I dunno about good vibes from Radiohead... more like... anticipatory vibes... and vibes of something to come, it's just not good nor bad. Awwwwwwwwww banish the no name band! Is what I might say. But if it is helping Thom then I suppose I have to get over it and accept the no name band.
