  1. You should take a screenshot of where to change the midi track channel. Because the channel button I found on the left is only for left and right audio channel, Which means its not doing anything by putting it on 11.
  2. eh the current one will do for now but I'll def be looking out for that post when its all done. Thanks
  3. Ok cool pm'ed. Also if you want you should send me a link to your whammy 4 version in case my conversion has a problem or something. That'd be awesome.
  4. Anyone here using cubase? If not what are you guys using?
  5. Ha I would except I already converted your original one myself. If my conversion doesn't check out I'll DL your conversion of it. I'm not going to go buy a midi cable until I for sure learn how to output the midi stuff to my whammy. Still haven't figured it out.
  6. I forget now because he left with it but I'm gonna buy one in the next couple days. I found in device setup there is IO settings that just had the generic "wavetable gs synth" listed and nothing else but that was after I had unplugged the midi/usb cable. Once the cable is plugged in something should show up right? Also found some vst settings that had midi output selector info in there.
  7. So my brother came over tonight with his midi/usb adapter thing and we couldn't figure out how to get the data to output to the pc(cubase) into the whammy. We selected the midi regions and the output has like "wavetable gm synth" or something like that. It just seems like my computer wasn't recognizing the adapter prob needed a driver. But I'm still unsure about outputting midi data from pc to whammy. Can anyone who uses cubase give me a simple walkthrough on it? Maybe kueller? Thanks in advance.
  8. Yeah kind of weird. Before I looked at a pdf of the whammy 5 manual I had my suspicions just by looking at what sections of the drop I knew were under certain settings and then I just matched the time signature to the program change listed at that time. Pretty sure I have it correct now but gotta wait for my brother to get off work and bring me his midi/usb cable. If it tests out good I'll reupload it here for whammy 4 users. With all credit to Dom of course.
  9. So I figured out the program thing by looking at the whammy 5 manual. Maybe logic starts em off at 2oct up at 0 but in the manual its 1-9. so it really goes like this for 5 2up - 1 1up - 2 1down - 8 2down - 9 So I just converted accordingly. Gonna try it out in a sec.
  10. Hey Dom, heres a screenshot of what I was telling you abut with the program changes. Good news is there is a way to filter the midi list to just prog changes so that was helpful but check out how I have 1 8 9 and 23. I'm thinking the 9 may be what yours was listed as 7 since I still have 8. Also I don't have any zeros except for the "data 2" column. Do I have to change those too or just the values in "data 1" column. I guess it would be helpful if you open logic and look at what your third program change is being that mine lists a 9 in between two 8s. Like I said I'm thinking its 7 but let me know what whammy setting your third program change is.
  11. Yes you do it all in one file on whatever program your using. So you import the unsutainable audio and line up the midi automation timings with it. That way when that part comes in the song and you play it the midi automation happens at the same time.
  12. Yeah true. The reason it works well for them live with unsustainable is they get the orchestra backing track going along with it in the same file. Much like we're doing here with logic and cubase. It sets you up with something to time with.
  13. Yeah I had no idea how complicated it was. When I saw your file and all the overlaps and then went to the midi list editor I was just with how complex it was...you don't know how much I and others appreciate your work. Like if you get a whammy 4 version set up and I try it and it goes off without a hitch and sounds as good as yours I might send you money via paypal lol.
  14. There isn't really an setting for it on the pedal but in the manual it lists a bypass number for midi program changes by each setting.
  15. I agree. It's why I've been so obsessive in this thread trying to get this stuff converted over correctly lol. This might be one of the most fun guitar songs I've ever played and that was just learning the verse manually lol. Haven't even touched the drop yet but I'll have it as soon as I convert those program changes....the bad news is that list of midi data is LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONNNNNG and idk if theres a way to just show program changes and filter out all the expression data. If its easier for you to do in logic since you know your way around it more than I do on my first day with cubase I'd be extremely greatful if you did a whammy 4 version and reuploaded. heres the setting numbers for the 4 2up = 3 1up = 4 1down = 5 2down = 6 bypass is anything from 20-25 so you can leave it at 22.
  16. hmm well 8 and 22 are still there also lol. just also 9 and 23....should i disregard it and act like its 8 and 22? and for bypass is that just corresponding to what program was on before it. so if 1 is active and you have a bypass change is it the number that is next to it? cuz the manual lists a diff bypass number for each setting
  17. This is the post where you talk about program changes and I found them in your midi file using the midi list editor but its still a bit confusing. I guess I need to find out what settings my whammy calls 1oct down 2oct up 2oct down bypass and 1oct up are sound right? Also looks like theres more programs than that. I'm seeing 23, 9 and 2 on your list in the midi region editor. So I basically just need a list of what settings correspond with what number on both a whammy 5 and a whammy 4 and convert accordingly?
  18. I remember you saying its for a whammy 5. And I have a 4. So how would I change the settings for each midi region if I have to?
  19. So with these tracks running basically I just plug laptop into my whammy pedal with a midi cable and click play and as its scrolling what ever I play when it hits those automated pitch shifts it'll just do it. Nothing else I have to do but click play and play along with it right??
  20. That was it. Track tempo was set to 120. 135 lined up everything flawlessly. Sorry for being such a damn noob at this stuff Thanks.
  21. Nah I see all those there and the timing for each part is right. I'm thinking the speed at which your program scrolls across an imported audio is faster than cubase. Like if can zoom in on the track only and keep the midi regions with the same timing itd be fine but I can't figure out how to do that.
  22. Its fixable but I see a lot of splitting and moving and lining up in my future haha
  23. I got your midi regions going along side the audio track in cubase now but for some reason it doesn't time out or line up properly. Like when you got the down/up as the drop starts. those first few notes I line up to be timed perfectly and then the rest of that region is slower than the audio track. Its really weird and i can't think of why its like that.
  24. Ah thank you! Lookin forward to your cover video btw. Should be the first completely legit cover of this song that I can think of.
  25. you can dl it in this thread but I'm thinking he didn't upload the right data. The folder he has labeled as midi whammy just has documentdata.file and displaystate.file And his other folder is all the logic stuff.
