I've written a new a song in the last few days. I was inspired by Muse, QOTSA and Arctic Monkeys.

Pink Ego Box is an entertaining song in general
Worst Muse song.
-
Muse are playing at my house, my house.
That's still the Solar System.
-
Any chance for a gig in the middle of Pleiades?
-
i think they'll all stay. If anything, PS might get rotated with SMBH or UD.
I want Madness and Follow Me to stay.
They'll never drop SMBH.
-
MK Ultra. I love it. So underrated though.
-
So deal
with
it
It's ok. Just surprising because you are usually very critical in every subject and it's surprising to hear from you that Black Holes is better then Abso.
-
Imo Black Holes has more filler feeling songs, no matter how I like at those 2 records.
-
I stopped reading at Hoodoo. Also lol at you trying to pass "Abso is better than BH&R" as an objective fact.
"In my opinion Abso is the 2nd best Muse album."
Too bad you stopped reading. Also on every matter you think you are always right. And stating things like this record is better mastered than that, however the mix is slightly worse on that, etc. is a bit pretentious. Or maybe you are a professional producer, in that case sorry.

Black Holes better than Absolution? I hope that's a joke.
Starlight, Exo-Politics (and maybe Hoodoo) make it impossible (for me) for that to be true because every single song on Absolution is better than those.
I quite like Black Holes though, it was the 1st Muse record I heard but how can it be better than Absolution?
I mean just Stockholm Syndrome in quality is far superious than any Black Holes song, altough KOC and MOTP are close. And there's the epic B&H with the best piano breakdown Muse have ever done. And Ruled By Secrecy, one of the most beautiful and emotional songs, then Apocalypse Please is menacing and love the arpeggio, then Sing For Absolution is great, I used to love Tiro but I overplayed it, Hysteria is always nice to hear just like TSP and I almost didn't miss any other song.
In my opinion Abso is the 2nd best Muse album.

Are you implying that soundtracks are worse than "normal" albums by default?
You need to listen to some Clint Mansell.
Or Hans Zimmer.
You word-twister.heey you stole my line

So, first original with lyrics and vocals... albiet lacking drums and bass. I really struggle with getting a good distorted tone..
Comments would be muchas appreciated!
Cool! Sounds like it was inspired by Porcupine Tree.

I found a really interesting guitar tone (with freakin lots of reverb) and the result is this noise rock song. I could say it might have been inspired by A Place To Bury Strangers. What do you guys think? I might be heading this noisey direction now.

No. Just wouldn't work for them, or for pretty much any other band. Matt's voice is totally unsuited for it.
I was thinking about an instrumental version of it live. No singing:p

A Song for the Dead.
-
What about Micro Cuts? I find it quite difficult (except the outro riff)
-
SMBH is probably the easiest if you don't do the live non-kaoss solos.
Since I don't have a kaoss pad, I tend to use whammy pedal (octave shifting rapidly) while soloing randomly. Very similar effect. I wonder if anyone else does that.
-
Supermassive, Uprising, Knights are the easiest in my opinion.
But I just discovered that the Plug in Baby riff is easy as well if you practice it.
-
Micro Cuts, Forced In, Spiral Static, Megalomania, Ruled by Secrecy
-
Just improvise. When I play Supermassive, the part when Matt uses kaoss pad, I use the whammy pedal and you just fuck around soloing while using whammy, still sounds good whatever you do:LOL:

I just finished a Prog rock influenced song. I always wanted to create a song like this style. Altough it's not Drop D, I actually preferred the Standard tuning for the main riff, sounded better. Still feels like a prog rock song imo. Here it is:

Here's mine:
-Fender Strato Mexican (White)
-Boss ME-25 effectboard
-Roland Cube 40 Watt
The thing I love most about the ME-25 is that you can record the guitar and transfer to your computer by a single USB cable. Easy! And also the number of effect possibilites are really high.Personally I prefer this board than single pedals.

This is pretty good.
Thank you:)

The riff is basically the same, but in a different key, that's a bit more than influenced...
Also, Vimanas' verse rhythm reminded me of Trumpet Or Tap by Biffy a bit but that could just be me. Same as Kueller though, not bad!
edit: I like Two Suns, slightly weird ethereal feel to it. Tune dat guitar though
Haha, I don't know that Biffy song, so that was maybe just coincidence. However Montreal was totally Arctic, altough the riff is not exactly the same, different key and the second part is lil bit different.
Thanks, yeah since I got that guitar tone like on Two Suns, I tend to use it in most songs. It has a nice sound.
