Again, pedantry. It's a cool piece and I like the general aesthetic we're going into for this album.

I don't think it is. It's the main gripe people some seem to have here and on Reddit. The transitions are clunky, so clunky in fact that they may be a feature rather than a bug. And it's a feature that I personally don't like. So it's a matter of taste.

I don't like pineapple on my pizza, I don't like smooth jazz and I don't like clunky transitions in songs. Nothing right or wrong with that, nothing pedantic about it.

    Abso

    BH&R

    Showbiz

    ST/TR/T2L/Drones

Some outstanding songs, even some of my favorites on the last four albums, but also some complete crap. I can’t listen to any of those in one sitting and enjoy it. First four don’t have any skippers for me, apart from maybe Sober.

the drill sergeant screaming is also one of the worst things they have ever done. just pure cringe for me.

I didn't even remember member that was in the actual song, not just the live version with the video screens... that's how long I haven't listened to anything from Drones I guess.

Overall the lyrics aren’t awful for Matt but I did initially cringe at ‘now die alone’. On further listens I quite enjoy it.

now a nice run of the likes of hysteria - psycho - Uprising - WSD - SS - reapers - Assassin live pls

editing to add my favourite which I can’t believe I forgot - the handler ❤️

It’ll be WSD straight into Madness.

The instrumental feels like it goes from being completely brick-walled to waaaay rolled off in the chorus, in favour of Matt's voice. All sounds extreeeemely compressed as well, even by Muse's standards. I'm no audiophile or studio engineer, but that's how it felt to my ears anyway.

You don't have to be an audiophile or engineer to hear the jarring differences between sections. I thought I was being nitpicky, but people here and on Reddit are noticing it as well.

Tbh, it feels long to me and it’s only 3m30s approx. Only bit I think could be longer are the pre-chorus riffs - they could hsve been doubled. But then it’d lose some of the punchiness.

One of the repetitive verses could be cut, and then there could be solo and/or an extended freakout outtro that properly marries the synths with the heavy riff, Rammstein style.

  8. A vid with just Matt and all the extra's wearing masks. Looks like they made the best of working with restrictions in place.

Gonna give the song another go with lossless streaming on Apple Music, YouTube sounds was shit.

Song was.... Well, we pretty much heard the whole thing already in the lead-up, didn't we?

The Live Chat for this song on YouTube is nuts. We've got:

    - Someone repeatedly shouting that we need to stand up to the New World Order.

    - Two people debating on what constitutes a hardcore Muser.

    - At least one person making Radiohead-comparison jokes.

    - And a bunch of letters alongside one another which don't make a lot of sense to me. I can only assume they're the result of a non-native English speaker or a drunken-native English speaker.

    ...to be continued... lol.

Those comments are flying by so fast. Same whenever there's a Facebook live streaming event. What's the point?

Such poetry, such fine subtlety… /s

Oh, god… This is going to be Drones all over again, isn’t it? 😓

Yup. Generic sentiments of oppression jotted down while watching the World collapse from a wall-sized tv in a Hollywood mansion.

It actually encapsulates more letters if you look carefully. You can also make out an R and an A, for example.

Also, my personal theory is that it doesn’t refer to the album title, but to the name of the “cult” (or whatever it is) portrayed on the same cover.

Aww, damn. Now I have to revise my album name guesses.

    Maybe…. It’s a password…
