I suppose it depends if we're talking 'heaviest' in terms of sound/production, or 'heaviest' in terms of some of the concepts/tropes in the song. Matt seems to place himself in the latter camp going by the notes that came with KOBK (referring to it as metal, talking about growls, double bass pedals, etc). For me, I lean more towards the former in so much as KOBK is clearly nowhere near as 'heavy' as say Dead Star in its recorded form.

I maintain that Drones did an excellent job of capturing Muse's more live sound on record. Still think it's a great album, the first two-thirds of it at least.

Yeah, ‘heavy’ is a completely subjective term in this context.

Muse’s staple arpeggiated synths from the past, weaved in at the right moment, managed to enhance their dirty three-piece riffing sound and beefed things up a bit by providing contrast with the gritty guitar and bass sound. Their current stacking of layers doesn’t manage to recreate that same feeling, because it gets too muffled and it just sort of kneads it all together, taking away from the ‘heaviness’ rather than emphasizing it through contrasting sounds.

It’s like making your ‘freshest salad yet’ by adding pomegranate, feta and cucumber and then putting it in a blender. Doesn’t work that way.

  2. I'm never sure what to do with this. Engaging seems futile, as no one can argue with an infinite amount of fragmented snippets of out of context nonsense, complete fantasies, lies and a sprinkling of truth and real societal concerns. Pointing out the apparent disfunction in an online nonsense-victim's mind's workings would be ill-advised and wrong of me to do, as I don't have the background and moral authority to diagnose mental illnesses. But when a recent survey suggests that 23% of Americans believe that U.S. institutions are “controlled by a group of Satan-worshipping pedophiles” who traffic children for sex, one can't sit idly by and ignore this ever-expanding dangerous communal delusion either.

🤦‍♀️ I feel like you don’t know Muse or Matthew Bellamy at all. Clearly, you don’t get their songs. I know they’ve not written a song straight out against vaccines, but the rest? Matt Bellamy isn’t a ‘conspiracy theorist’, he just knows more than most and chooses to SEE more than most. Things are changing fast, for the better, and you will see he and us so-called ‘conspiracy theorists’ had been right.

Oh my, we've got a live one.

It's taken from a TikTok stream so I imagine there's an extra layer of compression there. I'll reserve judgment until next week but hope to God the mixing isn't the shitshow that Won't Stand Down is.

If it’s not a similar shitshow then listening to the full album will be the same jarring inconsistent experience as listening the OOS anniversary remiXX. I’m not sure if inconsistency with the occasional standout is better than consistent shittiness.

Now this is funny too. After 70 minutes in the queue for Amsterdam and the queue going down to "20 people in front of you", this message appears:

    image.png.47a67a38ae2a5ab8ae19c8f72a9ce97f.png

Paris progress after 80 minutes is 54% :D

My browser automatically refreshed and I've got 10.000 in front of me now (which is the maximum, it could be a million.)

Now for the first time Eventim Berlin lets me choose my place on the "Saalplan". But no single place is available 🤔

Now they're just toying with you.

Eventim allows "Fan-Sale" for worse than tout prices. So if someone wants to spend 700 Euro plus on 2 tix, have a go at fansale.de . Some only ship to Germany though. What a shitshow. F*ck Eventim, F*uck Ticketmaster

I've been following the discussions on Reddit about the US shows. Tickets are selling for $2000 there through Ticketmaster's exploitative Platinum Pricing feature.

Ok, that's even tougher :D I don't live anywhere near to any of those venues. So basically it saves me a lot of money if I can't go to any of them. Still trying anyway...

I'm just reading that the online payment system of my bank is down this morning, so I guess I should just give up. Only 7000 left in front of me...

I didn't have to click any Google Captcha on any of them... Weird

I had to do it on both my computer and my phone, weird. Anyway, it set me back 2200 spots in line, apparently. Not that it matters...

The lame thing is, I literally live across from Carre. I can see it out of my window, this unseizable fort of tickets. So close and yet so far away.

Amsterdam carre.nl crashed precisely at 10am, had been waiting for 30 minutes. Now it's "5500 people waiting in front of you". Berlin immediately not available at 10am. Were there even any tickets for sale? Paris slow like hell, I have reached 5 % progress after 15 minutes queue... Anyone with any success anywhere?

Same, only I've got 7700 people on front of me. I think it literally came down to who clicked through the Google Captcha the fastest.

Friend of mine managed to get 3 tickets at 17:10 today! I tried this morning, I managed to select tickets twice, but they were gone before I could click Continue. I kept refreshing throughout the day, but 'no tickets available'. I thought we had failed, but then my friend refreshed the site 'out of habit', and there were tickets! OMG!!!

I hope/assume you get to use ions of your friends three tix! If so, congrats! It was, as I suspected, a crapshoot, luck was required in the end.

I'm going to do that and try my luck again Friday, thanks.

Is that when the general tix go on sale (if there are any left?). I thought I read that somewhere, but now I can't find it anymore.

    EDIT: Never mind, found it...

  12. So what do we think? Cool exclusive benefit for the fans, or tricking fans into buying a box set with little guarantee of reward?

I’m not saying this kind of practice is exploitative since I know these days bands struggle to make money from album sales, so they have to figure something else out, but the cynic in me wants to know:

Do they want to play small venues and fund it through these pre-sale schemes?

Or are the smaller venues a scheme to sell more albums?

    I’m worried it’s the latter.

Either way, these shows can be sure to be packed with die-hard fans (of the kind that have some extra cash to spare) who will be super happy to be there, which should make for a great show and crowd.

I managed to get the queue down from 3000 people before me to 700 now, in 45 minutes. Now I wonder what happens when it's my turn. It's impossible there are still tix...

    Capacity is 1700 I think.

Curious if anyone on here managed to get tix for this show? Haven’t seen anyone post about Amsterdam success.

  14. With such small venues it’s essentially a lottery.

I forget what it was for now, but I’ve tried to get tix for a different show in the past that uses the same waitlist system as the Amsterdam show, and it crashed at checkout that time as well. Just have to be lucky I guess, and I never am with these things. Enjoy!

This is really confusing! I see a code of my members page … does this mean this IS the code, or do they think I‘m American as well ….

In the description below the code, does it only talk about intimate American shows? Mine does…

    Ooooohhhh!!!

And Murph made a comeback …

Apparently Will was en route to the Isle of Wight already. I guess that answers the question if Will is just Murph in a mask.

Matt being self aware? Has he'll frozen over?

It’s a good read, a relief actually, that whole interview. Also validating to see the interviewer bring up some of the concerns I’ve been having. Now someone just needs to ask him about Marylin Manson’s intellectual property and the world is in balance again.

It’s also great to see the exploding minds of a certain faction of Muse’s Facebook following in the comments when they shared this article. Poor souls went straight from “I love this band for standing up to the plandemic/woke oppression/WEF/Ministry of Truth” to “Stick to music and stay away from politics.” Love it!
