Yeah, and if I give up on that, I can afford a proper drum kit which I won't need then
-
It's a Swingstar. Doesn't sound bad though, the one I've had so far is a Swingstar too. It just wouldn't be worth it spending a huge amount of money on a proper kit. I just want to play for fun, and I'm happy enough with that thing @rage: too bad I don't have any expensive habits at all :'(

If my former bandmates and I manage to get a band room again, I'll probably get myself this one: For all of you who are about to scream DOM WANNABE, I'm not getting his cymbals
-
For this very reason, I demand Tama to send me a chrome kit with black hardware... *dribbles uncontrollably*
-
It would be nice to hear only a drum kit like that, without any other instruments. And then a regular kit for comparison.
-
There'd be no point in making them if they sounded crap though.
-
The die cast hoops and the thingies where the screws go in are Starclassic hoops and thingies too
-
The acrylic kit is a Starclassic kit, I'm 100% sure.
-
Hm, I don't know... maybe they'll be available shortly then. They're clearly Starclassic drums.
-
That would be a bit tiny though
-
I agree, it looks nice enough though. I think the white hardware suits it well. What's wrong with it?
-
Wouldn't that help to get them tuned more perfect? So far I've only read the opposite.
-
I don't know exactly , that's why I'm asking. According to the Tama site the drums stay in tune much longer with die cast hoops and they're also easier to tune with them.
-
Does any of you have any experiences with tuning with die cast hoops?
-
Maybe they're using a different method than the drummer at the gig, his cymbal was garbage after a few songs.
-
They're damn ugly! That's a bad idea. You're supposed to drill a hole at the furthest point the crack has gone, that should stop it from going further. Cutting out a bit will probably result in the cymbal going kablammo even faster, I've seen a drummer play live with a cymbal that had a bit cut out from the edge, and by the end of the gig the cymbal had become unusable.
-
Yep, all my cymbals are (Power) Alphas, 14" hihats, 16"/18" crash, 18" china and 20" ride. The 16" crash didn't sound as good as the 18", but they're all extremely good.
-
I liked my 20" Paiste Alpha (Power) Ride very much, it's only worth about half of what you're looking for though.
-
I was much more shocked by "Tamastar Maplestar Classic"
-
It's a Starclassic Maple kit by Tama...
