I personally find they have a slightly different effect.

But toms and bass drums don't sound the same, so it's not the same. Also, it wouldn't be very comfortable to play using a tom. It's just a lot smoother using double bass.

You can play that easily with one foot, just practice some more and you'll get there.

I've been using them for years (only about once a week, mind you) and neither my hands nor my cymbals are fucked up It's just propaganda from the wood industry!

Carbosticks are great. They sound and feel pretty much like wooden ones but last quite a while longer. Also, you don't get all those annoying chunks of wood everywhere, just some fine, powdery dust.

Fair enough. You should get some decent microphones and a firewire multi-track mixer That'll allow you to adjust everything afterwards.

Weeell I can always cut a hole in the head I have. They're just so bloody expensive Oh, and do you have any suggestions for Remo/Evans bass drum heads? I have a EUR 20 voucher for a shop, but they don't sell Aquarian heads... And do you have any suggestions for double kick pad thingies? The Remo ones are yellow and really wouldn't go with the rest of the kit [/woman]

Cheers! In the deed I do. They are. I think We had a discussion on those some months back. Oh, I meant the CS/X heads for the snare I had clear Emperors on my old drums and liked them very much, so I bought those again.
