Help! I can't do photos

I'm useless with computersy stuff so this is probably dead easy for most, but how do you insert photos into your posts?

 

I can manage to copy something already posted by someone else within a thread, but that's about it.

 

THese are the bits I'd really appreciate some help with:

 

How can i copy a picture and post it in another thread?

 

Upload something off my pc's 'my pictures' file

 

Stick something off the net in, either photo or video (say off Youtube)

right for a picture that is on the web you first need to find the url (it's location on the web) of the picture. this is done in firefox by right clicking on a picture and clicking copy link location, or in ie right click on a picture select properties and then select the address (url) field and copy the contents of that. this applies the same to photos on here and photos elsewhere on the net. with the contents that should be something like http://www.example.com/mypic.jpg you want to then place that in img tags like so: [noparse][/noparse]. or click the image icon and paste the image url into the prompt.

 

to upload a picture you can attach an attachment to a post which is one of the options in the reply page. An attached picture will appear as a link at the bottom of your post, if you want to actually include a pic from your computer in a post you'll want to upload it first at a website such as http://www.photobucket.com or http://www.imageshack.us those sites will provide you with the correct link to insert the picture into our forum.

 

to include a youtube in a post you want to get the url of the youtube (this is displayed in a grey box on the right hand side with URL next to it) this will look like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OvbgfnNEiWE you want just the bit after the = which in this case is OvbgfnNEiWE and you want to put that in yt tags like so [noparse]OvbgfnNEiWE[/noparse]

Where can I change settings, so that when i post a photo, it'll be in normal size?

If you do a normal reply, or quote, then there's the section underneath where you type called "Manage Attachments". IF you upload a picture through that it will show as a thumbnail in your post.

yep it's as mikey mike explained above if you attach photos to your posts they'll appear as photos.
