shotoku64 Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 I have most of Muse's Cd's, but I had to buy an MP3 of Spiral Static and Fury from iTunes. Can I get these (and whatever else) on a CD if I buy it off the Muse website?

shotoku64 Posted March 11, 2011 Author Posted March 11, 2011 The difference is CD quality vs. compressed audio. I like Muse to sound the best they can
LyraSilvertongue Posted March 11, 2011 Posted March 11, 2011 The difference is CD quality vs. compressed audio. shotoku64 Posted March 12, 2011 Author Posted March 12, 2011 Yes, I have those songs, but I knew you would get my point anyways, thanks Lyra
Hat Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Download them? If you feel the need to pay for it, just buy them on itunes and then download them, Much easier than to get the Japanese versions.
LyraSilvertongue Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Download them? If you feel the need to pay for it, just buy them on itunes and then download them, Much easier than to get the Japanese versions. He already said he'd rather not have compressed audio mp3 files.
Hat Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 He already said he'd rather not have compressed audio mp3 files. Yes? That's why I told him to download them.
LyraSilvertongue Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Yes? That's why I told him to download them. Download the mp3 files? How does that help?
Hat Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Download the mp3 files? How does that help? You are the only one talking about mp3s.
LyraSilvertongue Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 You are the only one talking about mp3s. M4a then, on itunes. What's the difference? Enlighten me.
Hat Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 M4a then, on itunes. What's the difference? Enlighten me. Let me explain it again. He downloads the songs, in whatever quality he pleases. This is what's so great about file sharing! If he feels that he needs to pay for them, just buy them on itunes. That way he doesn't have to feel bad for downloading for example flac files on a torrent site.

But aren't all iTunes files compressed audio? I don't actually know if this is the case so don't be patronising.
Hat Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 But aren't all iTunes files compressed audio? I don't actually know if this is the case so don't be patronising. I'll explain a third time then. He downloads the song ILLEGALLY through a random torrent page, in flac quality. Then he buys it on itunes just because he seems to be determined to pay Muse for it. What quality he gets in that song from itunes doesn't actually matter.

I asked you not to be patronising So what's the difference between flac and mp3/m4a? Yes, I don't actually know this stuff and I'm not ashamed

Yes, I don't actually know this stuff and I'm not ashamed I'm wasn't patronising because you didn't understand the compression and file quality on itunes, so I'm not apologising Well, the difference is the quality. Flac is usually a lot better. My basic point=You can obviously get CD quality songs on the internet(Not necessarily Itunes), so DOWNLOAD THEM!

Everything I download tends to be in mp3 or m4a format. I don't now what do do with flac files.
Hat Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Ok. Everything I download tends to be in mp3 or m4a format. I don't now what do do with flac files. Yes, because most people don't really care or hear the difference. It's too good to be played in shitty media players.
LyraSilvertongue Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Yes, because most people don't really care or hear the difference. It's too good to be played in shitty media players. Are you suggesting I don't have the ear for a good format?
Hat Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Are you suggesting I don't have the ear for a good format? That depends. Do you hear the difference?
LyraSilvertongue Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 That depends. Do you hear the difference? I do, but it doesn't make a massive difference to my enjoyment of the song. Feck, Prague just came one iTunes. Must get rid of it at once...
Hat Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I do, but it doesn't make a massive difference to my enjoyment of the song. Feck, Prague just came one iTunes. Must get rid of it at once... Normal quality mp3 is good enough for me. I don't have the speakers to fully enjoy flac anyway.
LyraSilvertongue Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 Normal quality mp3 is good enough for me. I don't have the speakers to fully enjoy flac anyway. Same. Mp3 in 320 mbps is usually good enough. Vinyl is better.
meweel Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 I read somewhere that iTunes will soon launch music without compression in a 24-bit format
miss_meadows Posted March 12, 2011 Posted March 12, 2011 You could also try to find old singles on ebay or wherever. Fury is on the Absolution single, Spiral Static on Plug in Baby and Futurism on Dead Star/In your world.
