Pig Man
So I just bought a Yamaha PSR-3 (bad, I know, but I just need something with nice sounds, and it was only 44$ including shipping). Â Anyways, I looked up online and it said it only had a 1/4 output, is there any way I can hook this up to my computer for recording purposes that would be efficient? cheddatom
It's probably a stereo jack output. You could buy a stereo jack cable, and an adaptor to change that to mini-jack, and plug this into the line in of your computer.
Pig Man
So I got the keyboard, and it only has a "Headphones/Aux Output"...would this work?

Flump
You'll get a better sound if you just get an inexpensive usb/firewire audio interface and use the actual 1/4" output. LIne ins on most computers still kinda blow. It'll be just fine for general purpose recording of your ideas though.
cheddatom
if the headphone output has a level control you should be fine recording to the line in. Yes, they can be a tad noisy sometimes, but for "demoing" it's fine.
edmunn
After a quick search, I don't think it had MIDI out, so recording from the audio jack on the back will be the best solution for you. You could probably get a better keyboard for $44 though.
