Butterflies & Hurricanes is criminally underused in this thread. Have you guys not seen it live or sutin like wtf
(it's miles better than CE)
(miles.)
I used to put in my sets, kinda forgot about it oops.
-
Wouldn't mind album 8 sounding similar to that CHVRCHES cover they did on Live Lounge tbh.
-
I hope Matt raps just to fuck with some heads.

Album 8 discussion from Dom:
"I think it's time to kind of lose our minds a little bit more in the studio and delve into some new areas of music that we're kind of not that used to or comfortable with. I think we should definitely do that and kinda go for it. Yeah, we've got small ideas about how we think we can evolve. That's the key thing: evolving."
Electronics plssssss
Bit early for album 8 ain't it?

On the short side, I always liked this one though.

That Belfort gig was the one they closed with Showbiz .
They need to bring Showbiz back as a closer, at the very least set closer. I don't care if they bring it a step down or not, just make it happen. Also Matt, get your shit together please for the arena tour, you sounded great on the T2L tour.

Knights into Bliss into Starlight at one of the early 2006 festival shows. Mega. The bass on Starlight sounds huge. In fact, all three sound brilliant.
That entire festival set is one of their best.
-
I don't hate Feeling Good as much as I used to, but they have better piano ditties.
Honestly, I like Feeling Good. The studio version more than it's live version, but it's had some decent performances.
-
Starlight was decent back then, fair play. TIRO and Feeling Good were only ever good on their respective album tours though imo.
Starlight had a bit more, how do I say this, crunch(?) to it. That might just be the mix on HAARP, but it sounded more gritty back on it's debut tour than nowadays. It's a bit auto-piloty today.
-
That set + BH&R era + Japan = actually perf.
Well, apart from Feeling Good, TIRO and Starlight.
This was back when (in my opinion) those three songs still had some umph to them.

With this talk of setlists, I think I just found my favourite setlist I've seen Muse play

After putting it in drydock for a while after over listening to it, I gave Citizen Erased a proper listen on my headphones today for the first time in about a year. Now I'm addicted again and the cycle is gonna repeat itself.

For me as soon as I saw CE was regular for the time being I got pretty hyped over seeing them.
-
Feeling Good, Resistance and Madness, may you all please kindly fuck off forever
I like Madness
-
Happy that CE is shaping up to be a regular.
-
Christ, if I ever put a band together, I'm probs gonna commission you to do some artwork

I always envisioned the solo in The Handler as the protagonist fighting their way out, and then Defector and Revolt was the protagonist inciting a revolution amongst other brainwashed people.
-
Semi-realistic set for the arena tour, partially based on what's been played so far.

United States of Eurasia
Butterflies and Hurricanes
Dead Inside
Starlight

Reapers
Stockholm Syndrome
-Encore-

I made an edit of the performance, because that's what I do best.

Looking forward to being a victim of second night syndrome! 👍👍👍

But in all seriousness, I can't think of a single good thing that's happened Muse-wise since this tour was announced. Maybe the fact that they played a secret gig, which I dunno if they've done before, but even then the set was pretty gash.
I don't know, the setlist didn't bother me. In those people's shoes, I would have been pretty happy to see them on the spur of the moment like that. Also, the Download set was pretty good right? And Rock Werchter to me also a pretty big highlight.

Everything is awful.
Attack of the melodrama.
-
Damn, that came out of nowhere.

Glastonbury 2004's performance is good, but I've always liked this one because it just sounds so massive.
