  1. Yeah, I dunno about that one. Why is Muse really the only band I've seen that has those kinds of issues there? Is there a significantly higher asshole troll fanbase or something?

There's a significant number of setlist.fm Muse fans that think they are "le epic trolololol" and that spamming Guiding Light is the funniest thing in the world.

  2. I think I know why you deleted the first post.

Is it really that bad that some people don't like overly upbeat songs when they come from certain bands? It doesn't mean that every Muse song HAS to sound a certain way, just means that people prefer a certain sound by them, which makes total sense.

No, I don't have a problem with people disliking upbeat songs, it's just that when Revolt first came out, a lot of people seemed to just go "too upbeat, worst song on the album." Which didn't seem like fair judgement to me, then again, I love the song, so what do I know, right?

  3. WHY is Revolt getting so much hate?!

Because God forbid Muse do an upbeat song! Every Muse song must be dark and broody and sad.

    Anyway, mine:

    Showbiz - Falling Down

    OOS - Screenager

    Absolution - Endlessly

Black Holes and Revelations - Soldier's Poem

    The 2nd Law - Explorers

    Drones - Drones

  5. In listening to Muse, i can see the progress they've made over the years. Each album is better than the last and Drones is the best, in my opinion. The purity of their sound is perfect. The command of the their instruments is outstanding. The songwriting is of great quality. They've matured and so has their sound. I always look forward to a new album from Muse and I've never been disappointed.

    Be careful, here be sharks

(When it comes to album production I agree with you)

  6. Nah definately not that, they played part of the globalist at glastonbury in 2010, maybe im confusing it with something else no idea lol

You're thinking of the alternative riff on Citizen Erased at Glastonbury 2004 which eventually became Supremacy.

  7. Not sure what im confusing it with in that case:stunned:

Sure its been around a long time evidentally and we all know matt is a compulsive bullshitter :L

Probably Psycho, that riff has been around for years.

  8. I really don't know why I'm getting sucked into this, but okay.

Uh, no. It was pointing out that people are paying substantial amounts of money (and, by extension, making substantial efforts), to see them, and the band should take that into account. Given that their major hits from over a decade ago are being played almost ubiquitously without rotation, I'm pretty sure they already do...

Hell, look at Download if you want explicit proof.

    ...

Uh, yes. They should. They're not jamming amongst themselves, they're professional entertainers whose job it is to entertain the people who go and see them.

No, you made that insinuation. Concocted it out of whatever bizarre, vaguely paranoid hidden agenda you feel the need to read into what I thought was a fairly basic point. And nor, as has been explained, were the people on the previous few pages "complaining" when they suggested that Micro Cuts should probably be dropped for the sake of Matt's voice.

Okay? I'm not aware that I had defined myself as "everyone", nor had I implied that people who wanted songs such as NSC played - which I hadn't even brought up - were somehow "lesser" and shouldn't be catered to.

But I don't think it's ludicrous to suggest that for the band to have no regard for the wishes of the people who are making sacrifices to see them would be a bit shit. Note that I didn't actually suggest that the band actually, y'know, does this.

So is repeatedly frothing over bewildering insinuations I didn't actually make. But you managed to make me spend five minutes defending what I assumed was immediately obvious, so well done on that.

    #smacked

  9. barely any of us are complaining though. We're simply discussing why he sounds the way he does.

I don't mean we're complaining now, should have clarified that. I'm talking more about the people who when a gig is happening just go "he sounds shit/forced/tired" and don't say anything else.
