  1. It's good to hear this was pretty much their own show and not a standard festival and that people were appreciative of what they were getting.

I do understand some people being sour about all this, but on the other hand I'm also really glad they're doing these sort of things at all. That together with some of Matts tweets kinda makes me hopeful for some sort of rarity tour in the future, but we'll see.

  2. That I'm here

    :shifty:. BHaR in full confirmed.

On a more serious note, have fun! Must be cool going to a gig being pretty much clueless on what's to come (unless it ends up being bad).

I haven't got round to watching the Glasto gig yet, as I wasn't around all weekend, but the setlist looked alright, loving the triple Abso section.

  3. I've seen 8 and all of them have had at least 1 song I hadn't seen before. Although at the Emirates 2013 gig, that song was Blackout with Matt lying down and Chris playing guitar.

Why did you have to bring up 2013 Blackout again :'(?

Better, or worse, than Matt fondling himself during Uprising?

Funnily, I never saw that at any of my gigs, even though I'm pretty sure it was mentioned here beforehand. But somehow I always managed to unintentionally only look at Dom and Chris. Maybe my sub-conscious saved me from it. But yea, definitely with Jobby on this, not even a competition!!!

  4. A year and a hour more or less

Welcome back Fabri :)! Good timing.

Hi we are Muse and we haven't played an arena gig here for six years. So here's a shit setlist.

Late reply, but yea, I was hoping they might do something "special", but ended up pretty standard. Sorry for you guys...

Also, it should be forbidden to not play Stockholm in Stockholm!!! Stuff like that really grinds my gears .

  5. Wow, nice setlist there Copenhagen!

But, without a doubt one the best Muse gigs I've seen! It's hard to say it was the best when Plug In Baby wasn't played, so I'll put it on par with Berlin 2013. Wasn't expecting Bliss again but sounded great as always, finally got to hear Citizen (even though it did dissapoint me a little because of the fan hype), Stockholm was absolutely mega and the outro jams were insane, and I think Take a Bow sounded much better than in London. Consider myself very lucky with that set.

Yay, Berlin 2013 :D. About CE: I guess that's always the danger of hype, getting disappointed a bit. Didn't happen to me, but I suppose it's just down to personal preferences in the end.

Exited going again tonight having a little hope for Assassin. I saw three groups of people in the crowd holding up signs for it and they definitely saw ours. We are also planning on singing happy birthday to Matt after Starlight.

Uh, that actually sounds like you guys might really have a chance for Assassin tonight, good luck!

Yeah Citizen gets a little too much hype. It's a really good live song though, and better than the vast majority of the set, they just have better live songs. Micro Cuts is a million times better live.

Both on-par for me. God I hope to hear Micro Cuts again someday. Werchter's still a dream.

With the Psycho Tour, I guess what I meant is, sure they did a good job preventing scalpers, but with the fan pre-sale happening suddenly and with no announcement, that really prevented fans from getting their hands on those tickets unless they happened to be in the right place at the right time.

But then they did go on to do a regular, general sale, didn't they? And that could easily have been full of people thinking "oh, I hear Muse is awesome!" and not appreciating the kind of setlist they got.

We did see people on social media, in the UK, complaining that they didn't get Starlight, or Madness, or didn't know many of the songs.

I found the whole thing very confusing.

Maybe the sale wasn't optimal, but I still believe that tour was absolutely meant "for us".

  6. I am starting to believe that the band have kind of regretted going for the 360 tour. :$

Could be that they're regretting it, I don't know. I guess they just wanted to try it out. But Matt saying something along the lines of 'the stage makes it really difficult for the moshpit' (which is what I was referring to in my earlier post, but I can't find the interview for that anymore) makes me think their conclusion is something like 'alright, a normal end-stage fits us better'...

It really does seem like Dom is not on the same page with the direction they are going, both sets and setlists.

When looking at the comment from Matt I just mentioned, I think that concerning the stage they might be on the same boat.

If the Psycho Tour was "for us" wouldn't they have done a better job at trying to get tickets in the hands of fans...?

It was still the same old same old tiny percentage for the pre-sale, and the rest into a general sale.

And the US got really fucked.

It was just a stunt to get people excited and talking about the band again before the album, and it worked.

Hm, I feel like the Psycho tour really was "for us", and not just a stunt. In Europe, there was said pre-sale and tickets we're personalised iirc, so touts would have less of a chance. I think that's at least trying to get the tickets in the right hands.

  7. I'm glad I was somewhat unspoiled for this tour. Had I known it was Defector vs. Stockholm Syndrome, I would have cried. I live for hearing SS live!

Speaking of more heavy stuff: I went with a friend and her husband, and he found the setlist too pop-y. I'm glad non-fans think so too!

I don't know what exactly it is with arenas, but I tend to blame them for the lack of fun. We stood at the back of the standing area and I had expected the crowd to move towards the stage and condense once the band started. But that didn't happen this time, so for me the gig lacked a bit of atmosphere.

That 360° thing fascinates me. It was so different to be the furthest from the stage, but still so close that I had a good view.

Yes, that last point is one of the upsides of the stage. I've never been this close to the band at a Muse gig before. However, what really annoys me about the stage is the point you made before: I don't know how far arenas are to blame for the lack of atmosphere, but it's been widely discussed on here (and even mentioned to some extent by the band), that the 360 stage thins out the crowd a lot as everyone is spread along the length of the stage, creating pockets of "hardcore" fans and jumpy people (obviously this is not the case for every song, some songs have more people jumping) instead of them all meeting up in the middle and thus resulting in a less energetic crowd and worse atmosphere. Another annoying thing about the 360 is how often you're singing to the bands back.

Really high quality CE video from last night. They seem to be enjoying themselves, I saw smiles from Matt and Chris.

:awesome:. Pretty sure I spotted my group jumping about under that crane camera. That really was one of my top Muse live moments so far. I'd love it if this and/or Map would feature on a possible DVD release, but who knows what format that thing would have anyway...

I don't miss it one bit.

Oh god I do. Those few times it was played on the 2015 festival tour looked absolutely fantastic.

  9. Great gig last night . Good setlist and band energy, I was with several mates, good times. I'm so glad we got CE, absolutely mind-blowing, also the second time round. That song just takes me somewhere else :facemelt:

    Highlights: CE

Map and its outro riffs (thought that two riffs were more than usual on this tour, but checked my London gig and realized it also had those two. But yea, really enjoyed it this time. Matt created some nice anticipation by delaying the start of the riffs, that was pretty cool)

    TaB

And I went to the barrier after the gig and managed to get a Hullabaloon

Defector was also really nice to hear, but to be honest, I was kinda hoping for Stockholm at that point, I just felt like some more heavy stuff.

Crowd was not quite as good as London, but pretty close. Mosh pit was a bit smaller, but other than that energy/jumping around seemed roughly on-par.

So, that was my last Drones-360 gig. I had really great times at all of them, but I'm also really really glad this silly 360-stage thing is over for me now (unless they do it again next tour, which they better not ).

  10. berlin is officialy sold out !

Good to hear it's sold out. I'm looking forward to tonight, hope we'll get a good set!

This will be my 4th time seeing them and I really would love a physical setlist, but the dilemma is that I'm in the seats. Is it worth hanging around when the stage is being dismantled, or have I got no chance?

I think if you're in the seats it's gonna be quite difficult, because there are most likely going to be a lot of people closer to the barrier than you that want the same thing. But who knows really, just give it a shot, it's not a very time consuming thing anyway. Soon after the gig's finished the standing area will be cleared by security.

  11. Dutch radio station 3FM interviewed Hans-Peter about the new concert film: http://www.3fm.nl/nieuws/detail/364657 (in Dutch)

The core bits are that he's the director of photography, they've already been filming in Amsterdam and Milan, and they will film more in Berlin (where they'll apparently be testing some new ideas) - so unlike Rome, it'll be made up of bits from different shows. He says about Rome: "That one was already awesome, but this film will crawl under your skin. It'll be more dynamic, heavy and more rock. It'll be more of an interpretation than a recording." They're also recording documentary parts for it, but he's not sure whether they'll be mixed in with the gig footage or a separate bit.

Huh, cool to hear that Berlin will definitely be filmed and interesting to see what these new ideas will be...

I think, I prefer live DVDs of a single gig, but as long as this turns out to be a good collection of songs I don't really care.

They will play Assassin at none of them, and Aftermath at all three. In place of Reapers or Defector.

Please don't say that ! Seriously though, has there been any Info on what they've been rehearsing? I could imagine that they might try to fresh things up a bit going into the fourth leg of the Euro-Drones tour + Festivals...

  12. Invincible is my favourite cheese fest they've done. I love the slide guitar intro and the whole build up t the solo and epic last chorus. Such a nice tune.

Oh dear, completely forgot about the slide guitar when talking about the song yesterday :$... that's what made me discover bottle necks

  13. I think my sign days will forever stay a two-time thing, otherwise there'd probs come a point where I just look like a stalker :chuckle:

Haha, maybe, but I'm sure they've already got plenty of those. I wasn't really being serious anyway though. I suppose chances for a sign working on a one nighter are pretty low.

On Invincible: I like it. Great build-up and solo. I can see why it was the GL of its time, but man, I'd love to live in a time where Invincible is the top of the cheese.

  14. In relevant news, seeing a lot of talk about people communicating with the crew filming this gig, saying that they're going to continue filming in Milan, Berlin and elsewhere, but that they don't think it's a full release, and don't know what it's being filmed for.

Interesting Berlin news, especially now that filming apparently doesn't necessarily equal bad set. Though filming several gigs really does leave the question of what is going to be released in the end. At least there's a chance that it'll be better than Rome song choice wise.

Bloody hell, they would start playing Defector regularly now :(

Guessing Paris will probs be my last chance to see it, fingers crossed but I'm not v hopeful tbh.

Ah, so you are doing Paris. Good luck with that! Maybe you should just bring a sign, that seems to work for you ;).

  15. Interesting tweets. It's about time Defector shows up again.

Also, him saying that Berlin's got chances of becoming a live DVD got me excited . Would be cool to attend a gig that's filmed for a DVD. I do hope this wouldn't mean we'd get a bad set though...

  16. Aaah you should go if you're going to be in Hamburg anyway... It's great seeing Muse in other countries. I'm from the UK but I saw them in Berlin a few years ago and the crowd was really up for it, I had a ball. And loads of German people speak English and are friendly, you'd get chatting. :)

Were you at the Berlin gig in 2013? That crowd was fantastic :D!

  17. I'm so torn about going to the Hamburg gig. There still seems to be standing tickets left, and it would feel so weird being in the same city as Muse and not being at the gig. But on the other hand I'm not sure I can justify the cost and I don't know anyone else going.

But if they played Assassin I'd never stop kicking myself. :(

I'll make a decision by next weekend. If I do decide to go I need to spam the absolute fuck out of #AssassinForHamburg. :chuckle:

I was just about to ask whether you're sure about standing being available, because they seemed sold out on tickets.de, but then standing tickets for Berlin suddenly became available again, which were definitely sold out before. Hamburg looks sold out at the moment, but it kinda seems to be going back and fourth...
