  1. http://muse.mu/news,the-drones-world-tour-2016_1677.htm

sidious, looking at the tour dates, do you think the US tour could be in that gap between the end of november and beginning of april?

That would fit rumours of some NA shows in february that I heard a while back. I suspect the tour will be a couple legs again. Probably do some NA stuff in that time frame, some festivals or stadium stuff in the summer then back here for some more touring in the winter.

  2. I've noticed a very small patch of "glossy" paint on the headstock right under the strings... not too bothered about it as I'm guessing it was something during the set up has rubbed against the paint. As long as it doesn't happen on the body ill be happy :)

It'll happen over time, nothing you can do about it but embrace it. Matte finish just naturally will get polished slightly by the rubbing and wear of use. I've yet to see anyone produce any sort of matte guitar that doesn't eventually get his effect. I've got a Gibson SG that does the same thing. Sadly matte black guitars show this gloss effect the most.

  3. Fretwork not being perfect is a concern. No issues with the frets needing levelling or anything like that?? Will seriously look into it.

They warn when ordering from them that a fret levelling may be required. Mine maybe could have taken the slightest levelling, but it wasn't nearly enough of an issue that I pursued it. Mine played great with just the truss rod adjustment.

  4. also, has anyone watched that sonic highways series or whatever it's called? they had the one for chicago on the plane when I was coming back and I thought it was pretty interesting... might grab the rest of them.

Yea I've got it all on Blu-Ray, watched them when it was on TV, and again when I got the set. Really enjoyable to watch, and can't help but love Dave even more.

Their NA tour will be interesting with Dave's Broken leg... I keep wondering if they will cancel Toronto since it is only beginning of July.

  5. I think you are going to need a lot more specific questions than 'tell me how to build it'. If you need someone to provide you a list of hardware, I'm going to suggest either a lot of research for putting a guitar together, or finding a luthier who can do the work.

Even doing a kit guitar takes some knowledge and work to get it playing well.

  6. Just saw this. To be fair, Muse have a long, long way to go until they're anywhere near Rush levls of changing time signatures, haha! Some of their older songs are just mental. :chuckle:

Can confirm, saw Rush play Friday, just insane musicianship.

  7. Any ideas as to why the pedal board has that cardboard sheet in front of it? I can't imagine it's because he wants to hide it

He has been pretty protective of his pedalboard in the past. Wouldn't really answer too much on it in interviews. When I saw them, his pedalboard was brought out on stage with a towel covering it. They played their set and soon as it ended, tech guy came out, threw towel back over the pedal board, unplugged it and took it away again.

  8. I take it you liked that gig more than iheartradio? I still wish I could've gone to that gig too, but considering there was only a slight chance of getting in, and I'd have to wait all day again...

So hard to say.. Webster was amazing, setlist, intensity, just crazy. iHeart was a solid setlist for being so short, just big songs. Seeing the guys in a room of 200 people was just amazing, and the energy was awesome, everyone singing every single word. It was less rough than Webster which I enjoyed because I got to watch the show a bit more while rocking out instead of dying from heat and being soaking wet. Getting to meet the guys again at iHeart was also a big plus.

Yea waiting wasn't a great option. I guess only the first 1-2 people from the queue got into the gig, and they got in line just before 12. Everyone else waited and was turned away which sucks huge.

  9. Did more people get to meet them this time? You know how it was the day before. I was lucky to partially get in a picture with Marx.

I really don't know why I didn't bring anything to be signed. Maybe because I don't have much that can be signed that isn't a guitar

Well there was a subset of people who got an actual meet and greet & actual picture with the guys. A bunch of people were successful in actually meeting them out back of the venue too. The guys hung out back there for a bit since it was a relatively small amount of people waiting.

  10. And nah I didn't see that picture before :ninja: How was the iheartradio gig as a whole? I'm guessing they toned it down a bit compared to webster hall... he didn't have the full stack either

It was an awesome experience. Obviously the setlist was short, but got 4 of the new songs, and then some big classics, PIB, KoC, TIRO, Uprising. Hysteria.

The crowd was still great, it wasn't as rough as webster though which was nice to be able to just rock out and enjoy the actual show. Everyone there was singing pretty much every single word to every song (aside from Mercy and partially Reapers). Was amazing to see them in such a tiny little room.

Plus getting to meet them again, and getting the light diffuser screen for my mattocaster signed was awesome.
