  1. I don't understand a lot of things about this tour... The lack of Defector, now dropping reapers back to back nights. Why Isolated System is a nightly track when the guys said they wrote those songs as their own 'openers' type music for T2L gigs. The set lists are pretty short and the production on the tour seems to be a disaster.

Last night I guess only two of the drones flew around during the first or second song? Then after that they just stayed parked in the rafters all night. I will be pissed if I spend money on this show, go out of my way to see it and their production is in the sink again.

  2. No idea, you sure that's not just a distributor or something?

And I was, but will be going to the Newark show instead. What I'm wondering about now is how all of these people are getting meet and greets...apparently it has to do with radio stations?

I haven't heard of this taking place at all actually? I'm getting pretty amped for this show. Even with the setlists not as great as I would have hoped, God damn the few spoilers i've checked out for this show look amazing.

I've come across a lot of people saying they thought this show was better than TR and T2L.

  3. I think you'll have more trouble finding another Canadian on here than you'll have finding a Cort MBC-1 in Canada. You'll have to settle for me unfortunately.

Nah any Cort dealer should have one. They're all over the U.S. eBay already, so if there's a place in Canada that is a Cort dealer, I'd try there

If you come to NYC next month you're welcome to try mine, but I'm guessing you're only going to the gig in Philadelphia and back.

Yea, I'm sure there has to be some local shops that deal with Cort, seems crazy that there is one shop in all of Canada. I would think that is bad for sales! Maybe their website just sucks. I could also jump the border down to Guitar Center or something since they do have them, or there are some online options.

I can't recall, are you going to the Philly show? I am only attending that one, and not NYC due to it being middle of the week. I'll be in Philly for the entire weekend though.

  4. Yeah but I thought you only had the X-Y paper autographed. Doesn't seem like it will come off or anything if you play it

Yea, just stopped playing it as much. Part of the issues is I've also realized how much I hate having a battery dependant guitar. I don't think I'll ever get another guitar with a sustainer due to this issue. Also need to make the hole for the 1/4" jack a bit bigger. The one contact pushes against the edge of the body slightly when you plug it in and over time it starts to bend. Once this happens the battery wont be properly engaged and you have to take the jack out and straighten it out.

Just having this guitar has made me realize how much I prefer a stable guitar I can always just use.

  5. If they're too bad I've always got a set for sale at the moment £55 ayyy

Ha, I don't even have a Cort, just debating wanting one. I used to play my Mattocaster I built a fair bit, but it has become quite the wall piece since it was autographed by the band.

  6. having spent 460$ on mine, I feel pretty gutted about having to return it because i got extremely lucky and received one with a super dark rosewood almost ebony like fretboard. But then again, since I am getting bonus money from work here in a couple of days I've decided it would be a lot better to order one from manson's with the sustainiac and gotoh 510's already installed and not have to worry about sending it to get routed and installed here in the states, rather have manson's do the job and get my money's worth out of it. I'll probably upgrade to the MBK2 sometime down the line, after I give the stock bridge pup some more trials at least.

How bad are the Cort tuners vs the Gotoh ones?

  7. But for now I'll just brag that I saw the last performance of hoodoo.

I imagine that could've done a lot more damage to the guitar if the amp head wasn't essentially an empty box

Damn, I am jealous of Hoodoo, would love to see that song!

Yea, if the head was real, would have really crushed the guitar! Although, I'm sure if the cabs were real, they wouldn't topple as easy as they did there.

  8. Who actually looks at the front of their fretboard while playing live on stage? I've found I can't even see the fretboard markers when I play standing up unless I go full hunchback to see it or something.

The saying goes, fretboard markers are only for the other musicians on stage to see what key you are in.

Many stages use Black Lights, can always use a little bit of clear UV reactive paint on the side markers so that on stage they will glow a little bit making them easier to see.

  9. Yeah, just looked at a video - the seats don't go all the way around, but they begin to

Were you there on the first night? I was on MB's side of the stage both nights, but closer to the stage on the second night. Actually a bit too close, as the railing was blocking my view

I was probably the section to your left in that video, nearly the same distance up. I was only there on the second night though.

I got the message from SiriusXM the morning of the first night show, so I drove down to NYC that night.

  10. Were there seats behind the stage at MSG in 2013? I was directly to the side of the stage on the second night, and I recall the area was blocked off with a bunch of empty seats. Pretty sure 2010 had seats all around though.

If they don't play MSG again, it'll be a bit of a shame really (assuming it's because they've played there four times in the past)

I'm not expecting a show there in January, but maybe later in the year.

It wasn't opened up on T2L tour at MSG. I was stage right, Matts side on the second night.

I just know that some T2L gigs I saw had the rear seats open. Same with Resistance tour, I know Toronto opened up the seats behind the stage.

  11. Yeah I thought the same. Is the stage rotating or...? Because it would be a shame if they were facing the other way the entire time...

Yea so apparently the stage rotates really slowly, so over the 2 hour show it'll do two full rotations.

On top of that, this time I'm sure the stage layout will be more focused on 360 than previous tours where they had seats behind the stage. During Resistance and T2L tours when seats were open behind the stage, they pretty much just were seats staring at their backs all night. Once or twice Dom spun around, and Chris or Matt might wander around a bit, but their focus was the front of stage.

This time I'm sure it'll be very focused on moving around everywhere a lot.

  12. Yeah I was having the same problem. There was a lever at webster hall last time, but I only saw two in the US yesterday (both are gone now)

Probably not worth it, unless they announce another date or five. I'm still considering coming to PA

You buying the ticket(s) from the presale at 10?

I got tickets for Philly and Toronto! Possibly see you there!

  13. "The nearest lever is 1171607 meters to the W"

Only two levers in the US? :erm:

Yea... so I thought the levers were really weird this time. I dug through the code, but it was really weird. First when they launched the site, they had a bug in the code so it failed to properly do any geolocation.

I injected a fix for that and faked my coordinates, got the lever but there was nothing connected to it in code. I assumed they really screwed up and it was even broken even more than I thought.

Turns out each of the levers had a signed deluxe copy of the album sitting at them. Couple lucky bastards got one!

Also James, looks like I might do Philly for my road trip date. Thought about Booklyn, but its a Wednesday, would need like 3 days off work for it, not worth it.

  14. An experience you'll never forget?

according to google maps, it's 2.5 hours from my warehouse to the venue in philadelphia... I think I will go to this.

But first, NY shows. I'm sure I will see you anyway if you come down for the brooklyn show (or NYC show if they announce it, which I'm sure I'd go to as well)

For some reason I remember when I was in NYC during T2L tour I recall hearing that tour would be their last one in MSG. Cannot recall where I heard it but I just remember thinking it was really odd.

And well, now they aren't playing MSG... yet at least.

  15. But Detroit is rock city!!!

In all seriousness, is it as bad as it's made out to be?

It really depends where you are. Right down by Joe Louis Arena is so so, I saw some sketchy shit, but wasn't the worst. I stayed right down town one time for a hockey game, that was interesting. We were in a really nice hotel, but right outside was sketchy. The entire downtown was mostly empty, very weird, could have filmed a zombie movie in the downtown centre without even having to close streets. Within a 3 block walk trying to find beer we had someone try to sell us crack & weed. We also had a black in his 50s stop us. He started to just rap to us and he was still wearing a hospital bracelet. My one buddy stayed back a bit to keep his distance and the guy started calling him a racist and dropping many n-bombs.

After the Muse show on the last tour we hit a bar about 2 blocks from our hotel (GM Building). On the walk back this van driving down the street suddenly slams on its breaks, throws it in reverse and stops next to a truck parked on the side of the road. Black gentlemen get out of both vehicles and start yelling at each other. They were fighting about who was a 'real nigger' and were claiming the other one wasn't, saying how they had grown up in the projects and such. One pulled a gun during the argument and we were very quick to start running to the hotel.

One the drive home I accidentally took a wrong street and ended up in a really scary neighbourhood. EVERYTHING was closed, entire strip malls, gas stations, everything I saw was just boarded up with graffiti everywhere. Only thing I saw in the neighbourhood was a single sketchy looking man standing in the middle of an intersection, and appeared to be selling news paper.

    So yea, was interesting visits!

I'm tempted to go to the show in Philadelphia...not too much of a drive from NY.

Definitely going to Brooklyn though. See you there.... :awesome:

Ha, I might see you there, I haven not decided what I'm going to do. NYC is always a fun trip, might be a bit cheaper to stay in brooklyn vs manhattan.

  16.

I don't know where else I'm going to go. I really want a pittsburgh show to get announced, I really enjoy that city, and is reasonable at a 4 hour drive. Detroit was announced but fuck that city is scary last few times I've been there for something.

NYC would be sweet, but it can easily turn into an expensive trip!

Still on the fence on where else I'll go...

    http://muse.mu/news,drones-world-tour-canada_1712.htm

it still says "More North American dates will be announced soon."

    New York soon?

Also, I like how they changed it from VIP experience to "enhanced experience" :ninja:

I'm pretty happy. Given that the dates are Middle of January I will be getting seats for sure. I was already on the fence given there is no longer a 'good spot' at the front because of the 360 stage. Now on top of that, no chance in hell I'm waiting outside in our great Canadian Winters.

I'm debating hitting up Quebec City too since its on a Saturday. Fingers crossed for Toronto Night 2 as well.
