  1. Hey, what stage set-up are they bringing along to Australia again? i know it was mentioned somewhere but i can't remember....:$ Ohh and where is everybody that has floor tickets aiming to get, like near the main-stage or the b-stage, etc? I think i'm still undecided, i guess it depends on where Matt, Dom, and Chris are most likely to 'interact' with us musers or throw their picks, drumsticks etc. :D. Where would you think this will mostly likely happen? (if it does happen, fingers crossed ). AHH 20 SLEEPS!!!!!!! :facemelt::dance::musesign:

Same as the Mexican shows I think, with the longer thrust.

I was thinking about where the best spot to stand is as well...if you're hoping for picks/drumsticks b-stage might be best. Main stage barrier is probably better than b-stage barrier overall though. idk I'm gonna decide after I see some vids from the first few shows.

  2. Multicams in general have been ruined for me after spending hours upon hours working on one myself, I can't help but notice all the camera changes and angles and stuff

    Anyway

But for the 'lack of live feel' i just don't care. When i want 'live feel' i go to a gig. When i see a movie i expect the best cinematography as possible, and looks like this is what we have here.

I have to disagree, I think it's important for the film to retain the excitement of the live performance. Cinematography is great and everything but it can easily coexist with more engaging editing.

  3. If you can't handle smooth viewing from the software itself, maybe render by parts if you can do that. Might be quicker than doing a full render each time.

Oh my god the preview in Vegas is so lagged that I can't rely on it at all, so I do render small sections when I'm fine tuning. Problem is when I think everything is fine and ready to go and it turns out it wasn't :p

  4. Any updates on this? I'm dying haha

Sorry, I'm in the final stages of finishing this. There was a lot of trial and a lot of error and I had to go back and fix a ton of stuff but now it's neaaarly done. It takes 7 hours to render the main vid and I've rendered it 3 times now but each time I see a couple small sync problems that I missed and I can't bear to leave them in there. It'll be done #Soon I promise :)

  5. Any links to the actual Billboard article?

And I feel like this is the second thing I've read on Gigwise saying Muse was "at a crossroads" recently...

You're probably thinking of the 'Radio 1 slams Muse' thing

edit: unless that wasn't a serious comment

  6. Update

So I've finished the first render of everything, next I need to figure out how to master the audio (???????/ i have no idea what i am doing) and go back and fine tune stuff, then re-render everything and contemplate the logistics of smushing everything together (my poor laptop is going to die)

The audio is holding me back right now. When I make changes I can't tell if I'm improving it or making it worse...

  7. Awesome :) Thank you again for doing this! :D I am so so pumped to see the finished product :)

By the way, I posted two of my friends' UD videos in the PMT, but you may already have them, since they're on Youtube. But I figured I'd try to help  The issue is that even though they're in two different spots on the barrier, they still have a fairly limited view, so the stuff that goes on on the far ends of the barrier are totally lost. :(

The only thing that may be slightly tricky with editing videos from other shows is consistency, since Matt is carrying a rose for most of the MSG barrier walk, and when you cut to other shots, he won't be holding it. (But who would really be paying that much attention? :chuckle:)

Yeah turns out I can't really use the LA footage either because a) there's not much of it and b) his hair's too fluffy  (never thought I'd be mad about that :chuckle:)

  8. I was about to say that I think he wore it at the 2nd NY gig, then I saw who was posting and guessed why you were asking

:chuckle: I'm hoping to make the UD barrier walk more exciting

Not exactly...but why do I keep thinking one of the LA shows? Could just be Space Dementia setting in... LOL!! ;) But maybe go back and look at those gigs...????

Ah yes, it was indeed one of the LA shows! Silly me I even have pics from that gig stuck on my English folder

  9. Any updates on this project? I know it's a lot of work, I'm just so anxious to relive the best night of my life (and part of the second-best night)

I'm doing it sequentially and have just finished TiRO :) so that leaves 5 8 songs including the bonus ones left.

  10. Don't know if either of you do this as I haven't seen much, but the pan tool can be great for zooming in to different parts of the video and making it look like you have more camera angles than you actually do. Keeps it from looking static. Lowers the quality a bit but for a fan-shot having perfect picture quality is already sacrificial.

I'd also say avoid too may crossfades, but I know I'm guilty of not following my own advice there.

Thanks for the comments, I could probably make more use of panning/cropping yeah. I think I use crossfades quite minimally, only where I think it fits/makes it less jarring ie. quieter parts.

  11. I bought a ticket for the G/A through the Muse.mu pre-sale for this show, and I have to say; I'm beyond excited! Just a couple of little issues though; I'll be just under 17 years old when the show's on, and this'll be the first concert I've ever been to. The problem is, not only will I be going to the concert by myself, but I'll be traveling to Australia by myself (I live in New Zealand). Does anyone have any tips or advice? It could be helpful for others too!

I'm in nearly the same situation as you, 'cept I'll be just over 17 :chuckle: I'm not sure if I'm going by myself or if my family's coming but if I go by myself I'd by staying at a relative's house too.
