I take it back, they must be starting with a click track which is then dropped because there is no way in hell Dom is perfectly keeping the same beat over three nights
-
Is that a good idea? I would've thought it would be better to stick to one show per song.
Combining shows works a lot better than I had originally thought. It's all about the cameras.
-
Which show are you taking it from?
I'm syncing performances from various shows, that's why there's a problem. Same goes for CE and PIB but they're easier to manage since they're mostly the same tempo throughout whereas US + Freedom lags and speeds up.
I was using audio from Sydney but there's a really good cam from Melbourne so I'm thinking of switching to Melbourne halfway through to simplify things.
-
Damn, Muse are so tight I got fooled into thinking Unnatural Selection is played to a click track. Little did I know everything goes out the window after the breakdown this is going to be super annoying to sync
-
Gosh, in my seated bay I swear everyone filmed the entire gig, it's amazing there aren't many YouTube clips.
I have the second half of Madness if that helps (featuring lyric screw up) but other than that I didn't film anything, sorry!
Yeah it's frustrating that only a very small percentage of what is filmed makes its way to youtube.
That's okay, I've found a clip I can use after searching the beginning/end of songs that are on youtube
-
Does anyone have a clip of Matt saying "hello Adelaide!" or whatever it was he said (probably after Supremacy)? For the tour multicam I want a sequence of "g'day Sydney!" "good evening Melbourne!" etc and it would suck if Adelaide missed out
Or any footage from Adelaide really. Going by the lack of videos on youtube compared to the other gigs you'd think cameras were banned or something.
-
I spent ages on this and I've submitted it on two years but it's still ignored
ffs look at the reindeer on the table!
I guess it's a little too plain for the judges' taste
-
Nothing wrong with that, it's always good to gauge people's opinions! This is just my view, I'm sure there will be an OCD sufferer or two out there cringing every time Matt's jacket disappears and rematerialises.
Will upload the B&H footage. Feel free to message me if I can help in any other way.
Thanks! Will do

I missed the encores at Brisbane and Sydney, but I'm pretty sure they weren't wearing red at Melbourne. Chris at least was wearing something different which is why the footage really annoyed me.
Ah true I just checked and he only wore the red jacket for the last 3 shows.
Anyway my point is, lack of continuity is integrated into the show itself, so I doubt many people will be bothered if you use different shows to get better angles.Yeah I was leaning towards better angles anyway. I don't know why I always ask questions when I already know the answer
As for footage, I only really have one decent recording of B&H at Sydney. Will upload if you're interested.Definitely interested

I have some footage from the Sydney show, would you like me to send them to you somehow?I also have some footage from the Sydney show, 2nd row from the end of the B-stage barrier, so pretty close. The audio's crap, but the video's pretty good (Although, a bit shaky). I haven't uploaded it anywhere so if you want it just let me know
EDIT: Just watched your YouTube vid's of the Sydney show, I was literally only a few meters away from you, i think I saw you actually :L

Needs less GL and more MotP.
Also continuity shouldn't be a huge consideration since they play the Dom-in-red-jumpsuit footage each night during Uprising.
Hey, I enjoyed GL at my gig . The FM-UD-GL combo isn't nearly as bad when Explorers isn't there. I think. I guess I'll decide whether to keep it or allocate it to the extras later.
MotP is another song that just wasn't recorded enough times
The band all change into the red outfits for the end of most of the shows, so that's not the problem. By continuity I meant how there are three versions of Matt during the main set: black jacket, black and white jacket, and no jacket. Is it better to have one version of Matt for each song or is it ok to switch it up a la the Follow Me video?

Oh. I was second row from the barrier on matts side of the b-stage, the crowd was great but I was completely flattened practically the entire time lol
You might have been right behind me
And jumping is quite difficult when you're being flattened into the barrier, I've learned

Yeah. The majority at the front I know, met from the board last time.
Glad to have met you zomuse.
Likewise :-)

So can someone explain how the cloakroom works? Hahah I AM SO EXCITED.
Yes please can someone explain it, and preferably reassure me that it will be open before gates open
-
Do you guys reckon I could get away with a small satchel-type cross body bag in the pit?
Also, does allphones let you take an unopened bottle of water in with you?
http://www.allphonesarena.com.au/Venue_Information/FAQs.aspx
For certain events, one sealed 600ml PET bottle of water per patron may be permitted entry – under no circumstances will an unsealed PET bottle be permitted entry. It does say 'certain events' though...I'll let someone more experienced clarify that. I won't be taking water in with me because I don't want to risk needing to go to the bathroom
-
Since a few people are worried they won't be finding the correct line, here's a rough guide to where everything is, including cloak room, ticket sales and where the train station is from the gig in case you can't find your way back.
Merch will most likely be outside under the tents there so you'll get a chance to get something probably after the gig.
EDIT: Beaten to the mark.
Thanks your map is much more informative

Any chance someone could post a picture of the Northern Foyer entrance? Or at least point it out on Google Maps? I saw Imagine Dragons a few weeks ago and lined up in the wrong line for 20 minutes, not keen to repeat that mistake
I've circled what I've deduced is light tower 16

Nice, I've been listening to that entire album lately, I definitely plan on actually buying it at some point. "Saddest Thing I Know" has to be my favourite track, but at this point I'm just trying to familiarise myself with their songs before the concert. Any idea on which songs they're likely to play?
It looks like they're playing the same 10 songs, just in a slightly different order each night.
This was the set from Perth
Silhouettic
The Others [edit: it's been replaced by The Gap]
White Witch
When The Night Falls Quiet
Broken Bones
Wild At Heart
Circles
This Fire
Plans
Lanterns
I'm pretty happy with it
-
Birds of Tokyo's latest album is so boring it makes me want to cry. Their earlier stuff is great though, right now I'm loving 'Circles'. The guitar there <3
-
Well... My mother decided that it'd be a great idea to book my flight to Sydney on the same day as the concert, so I won't be getting to the venue until around 3 - 4pm (Assuming there are no delays on the flight). Would I still have a chance of getting to the barrier? I'd be guttered if I was all the way at the back :/
Barrier will be unlikely, but you're still gonna be pretty close. Especially with the extended b-stage. I know someone who turned up half and hour before the first Melbourne gig and she managed to get to one row from barrier on Chris' side.
-
Of course we will. I might bring some drinks/nibblies AND SUNSCREEN for people because the shops at Homebush are expensive.
There's also a freaking Oporto there now, so I'm stoked.
Awesome and thanks for reminding me about sun protection haha
-
noob question: Subway/Maccas/etc is 500m from the arena according to google maps, will I be able to dash over during the day while you guys hold my spot?
-
The venue website says the earliest you can start queuing is 8am, idk how enforced that is though
2013.12.13 - Allphones Arena, Sydney, Australia
in Gigs
Posted
I transcribed some of Matt's gibberish for if you want to wank over how good an audience we were http://www.musewiki.org/Sydney_Allphones_Arena_2013_(gig)
Also if you want to hear the 'aussie aussie aussie' bit again, linky
I'm so glad the gig was recorded, in fantastic quality no less
