  1. Because Matt could just as well be miming if the main vocal melody is playback. If they can't do it live, either because the vocals are too hard or the instrumentals can't be reproduced live, they'll just have to rework the song to make it work.
  2. If there are three Matts in the song, and they can only do two, then so be it. Live performances are supposed to be live with the obvious limitations that will mean compared to a studio version. Vocal playback is never ok, instrumental backing tracks like violins, trumpets and so on aren't my cup of tea, but tolerable.
  3. So you'd prefer playback instead of Chris' vocals? That's ridiculous. And it's not an insignificant part of the song, it's the main vocal melody. In any case, playback should be limited to pop-acts who sucks live.
  4. Yeah, I'm pretty sure about that as well. It better be a one-off thing because vocal playback isn't cool at all and as far as I can remember, they haven't done that for a long time for such a show.
  5. I actually like it from the first listen from a shitty audio recording. Dunno if that's a good sign though since I tend to get tired of those songs first. Anyway that aside, what's going on during the last chorus? Matt's chest-voice vocals are playback, while he's humming some falsetto along with it? Pretty daring making a song consisting of countless G4's throughout the song when he struggled to do one single sustained one on Resistance five years ago
  6. Can't hear any obvious sign of autotune. The deliverance is very similar to the Bb4's in Big Freeze. I'm sure as a stand-alone song on an optimal day, Matt could pull off the vocals in Big Freeze, but not in a full gig or even less through a full tour. I think he'll do these vocals in chest voice for the first performances then give it slack through the festival-tour. Edit: We'll soon enough though.
  7. Quite fun that The Globalist is trening worldwide on Twitter while Dead Inside isn't. I think I like the song though.
  8. That's what I thought. Cool, even if it's for a split-second. Listened through some of the performances, his voice wasn't as bad as I thought it was. Definitely a bit rough starting up a tour, but give it a few gigs, I'm sure he's fully back. The chest voice parts in US middle-section sounded fucking great. He did pretty well on Uno chorus aswell, although some minor troubles during the last one.
  9. I think and hope the song will make more sense in an album-context. From the information and the album description we've gotten this far, it really seems that they've made an attempt on a concept-album in some way.
  10. Love it On another hand, these are probably the safest vocals Matt have done for a long time. I like them in the context of the song, but I hope he pushes himself abit more on the other tracks.
  11. Don't know if this has been posted or not, but here's a translation of an article from a German magazine: http://muse-soul.tumblr.com/post/112535862731/the-calm-before-the-storm
