Survival's lyrics are by far the worst. It's also one of the reasons why they were/are easy to mock now iirc

I don't think the lyrics are as bad as people are making out, one bad line in a song doesn't mean all the lyrics in that song are bad. But in some cases where lyrics aren't meant to be taken seriously and are for fun I just don't see the appeal. It wouldn't be bad if fun lyrics were a one off thing, but the last 2 albums seem to have so many songs with "fun" lyrics

I mean stuff like Panic Station, Reapers, Psycho, Revolt (jesuschrist), Survival lyrics etc, where the whole thing "isn't supposed to be taken seriously". a few songs like that would be okay, but there's just way too much of that. And it feels like when someone tells a bad joke and when nobody is laughing they say "ahhh come on guys it was SUPPOSED to be bad, gosh..."Agreed (even if I like some of these songs.)

The lyrics are a key part of it though. I want to enjoy Drones but I find some of the lyrics to be so jarringly awful that they ruin the song.
The music is a key part of it too though, obviously. Basing near enough a whole album review on lyrics....

I've saved $2000 for this tour so I'm probably going to do 20 this time and I'm on the West Coast. I'd be able to do a ton more if I were on the East Coast.

You don't get it, it fits so well with the Drones concept. The harmonica sound conceptually ties the Four Horsemen in BH&R with the western vibe of The Globalist, which connects everything to Drones.
