In Australia iirc? Was a charity thing for human trafficking I think. One of those 50/50 ones where it depends on your definition of a single though I guess.
Ohh yes, I remember now - they showed the video for it before they came on stage at Wembley in 2010!
Well I'll happily count it as a single if it means they'll play it live again lol
-
Count me in for Invin and MK then
MK was a single?
-
The setlist will change for sure. It'll be all the singles from the last 4 albums
Though I wouldn't mind seeing Invincible brought back.

Yeah, been thinking this for a while. I can see the US festival sets being fairly standard (because US) but R&L feels like it has potential, especially since it's a European exclusive. I mean, if they're just gonna be standard sets then why not just wait 'til the next album cycle to do it? As opposed to during a year where they're only supposed to be 'chilling out' and catching up on US dates they skipped.
Don't get my hopes up talking about albums in full tho, I've been down that road
Sadly not expecting any albums in full. But I would say it'd be somewhat safe to expect setlists with less Drones songs which potentially means more room for older songs.... though it is muse after all lol

Can we expect somewhat different set lists for the festivals this year? Seeming as they made a big thing about the Drones tour ending back in the summer or whenever. I seem to remember them saying something similar about wanting to do something different at R&L back in 2011 as it was after TR tour, which of course led to OOS in full.

Huh?
Rumours of a huge band being announced for a certain West Yorkshire venue. Most likely Weezer though (if the in-jokes are true) though.
Either way it sounds good to me, which venue?

I stand by the fact City Of Delusion was/is one of their best songs live.
Saw it on the '06 arena tour and then at Wembley '07. Both times with trumpet. It was so huge. Those HAARP visuals of the laser satellites blasting the skies. Amazing.
Imagine the Muse set of 'forgotten' tracks (loosely or soon-to-be) - Citizen Erased, Apocalyse Please, Butterflies & Hurricanes, Take A Bow, Assassin, City Of Delusion, Hoodoo, MK Ultra, Supremacy, Animals, Reapers, The Handler.
.
Except some of those aren't forgotten at all...(loosely or soon-to-be)..

Oh thought it was more recent/within the last year. Time flies, I guess.
Would still be nice to see, mind.

Why would they now record covers they played 3-4 years ago?
iirc Dom said they were keen to put out a studio version of SoTT and I'd argue that they'd be too lazy to release more than 1 new original song.

Probs an EP released this year which will probably include SOTT and Lithium covers

Acoustic is nice

I know it's old news but there was never any official confirmation.
Lol, as if it was a shocker anyway. Why does it even matter?

Well at least we know to keep our expectations low now

Endlessly.
I used to think this was one of the weaker tracks on Abso, but recently came across a live version of it @ Wembley in 2003 and it's absolutely spine tingling. I'd now say it's probably one of the best (if not, the best) song on Abso.

Electric ballroom tickets were still going on sell way after door open, think they were even cutting the price down to sell it iirc

What if this song is the last bass-drum-guitar base song?
Well it won't be... simply because there doesn't appear to be any guitar in it.

Worth creating a thread in the songs & releases section as it most likely won't be a secret gig as thought?

"For the next album we've got this concept, this concept where *giggles with Dom* where it's like the 1960s in Vietnam so I'm Elvis but the flow of time is convoluted so drones fade in and out, know wha' I mean?"
Thing is it's got to the point where I don't know if it's believable if this quote is real or not

Looks like they have covered over the little design Dom has on his bass drum?

I am a pleb. Who is Elvira? If it leads to a new Muse song, no matter how cheesy, I will be hyped.
A quick google search revealed that she lost her virginity to Tom Jones and as a result required stitches as he was such an "aggressive" lover.
Nice

Would be quite pointless building up hype for something that irrelevant? But then again they did something similar with the world war Z gig so...

It's probably going to be the cheesiest thing they've ever done, if I had to guess.

The song "Drones" is a work of art and musicianship at so many levels.
People criticising that song reminds me a episode of the Simpons where everybody is in a campfire and someone start to play a delicate song in the guitar, only for other guy to yell "Cut that crap, we want standard rock!"... then, the guitar player start to play some power chords and sing about getting a girl. Everybody cheers.
It really isn't though, if it was more of an original piece I'd somewhat agree, but the fact that it's basically a rework of a classic song with pretty childish/dumbed down lyrics is just bad

This. If anything, I'd argue the later dates should get the generic set treatment, though I'd much rather no one get that.
It's all down to luck really, of course muse could just play consistently good sets instead though
