The piano ballad wouldn't even be a problem if the song had good transitions and a longer heavy part (preferrably with vocals). Genuinely a missed opportunity.

TL;DR: The first half of the album (including The Handler) is without a doubt the strongest. The second half falls short in almost every way, introducing us to the new worst Muse song of all time (Revolt), while also destroying what could have potentially been one of the best Muse songs (The Globalist). The second half is where the album loses every bit of focus and just sounds like another ”hey let’s do everything we can think of”-experiment like TR and T2L. The second half ruins what could have been the best album since BHAR.

All the hype was wasted on this second half. The Handler is the best song on the album, by far.

If The Globalist just kept going with the heavy bit for another 2 minutes and ended on something big, it would actually be one of my favourite Muse songs. But now it's just three and a half minutes of wasted potential at the end, while the rest of the song is HUGE, but cut brutally short in favour of Explorers 2.0. Fucking Muse.

Revolt seems awful. I'm a big fan of Wicked Game though, so if Aftermath is along those lines I think I'll like it. Guilty pleasure and all.
