  1. Hey there. I don't know why FB isn't pulling up my blog posts lately. But I thought you might actually enjoy this one. http://evansgarden.blogspot.com/2010/04/everything-book.html As a fellow librarian and parent. I'm sure you have similar stories!

  2. Thanks, Nicole. We're trying to look at things as the open door instead of an open window, if you know what I mean. Part of the reason I wanted to have a garden for Evan is because I can have a garden just about anywhere. I knew there'd be a possibility of moving one day, so I wanted to give myself flexibility...and continue enjoying and remembering Evan wherever we end up.

  3. That's a bummer. I just thought a while ago that jaelu was thinking about switching her GA tix for seats. you can ask her if she's still interested. Her user name is jaelu. :D

  4. Hey. I just got an email from 99x saying that they'll be doing ticket giveaways next week. go to their website 99x.com and join the freeloaders. Supposedly, the freeloaders get a heads up on what time the ticket giveaways start. If that makes sense. Just thought you might be interested! I imagine these are GA tix.

  5. I think if I pm'd him, he might just get irritated with you. You could try again tomorrow, with a "Are we still on for those tickets? I got the money situated." or something. then maybe you'll find out if he's already sold them. Good luck!

  6. Hey! Did you ever get your ticket to the ATL show?

  7. Thank you for the birthday wishes!

  8. Happy New Year to you--in what, 40 minutes? Now if only the rednecks will stop shooting fireworks, I can go to bed!

  9. Haha! That's funny that you were eavesdropping...because I saw your mention of Burl Ives in a previous post, and thought of him singing "kiss her once for me!" in that song Holly Jolly Christmas. My husband thinks he sounds like a bit of a lech!

Anyway...Duncan is not one for trying new things. He's a terribly picky eater. So, I doubt he would try the slippery elm. even if it tastes good. He's 3.5. He did give us quite a scare. He's had the croupy barklike cough before, but it's never developed into the constricted windpipe. Hearing the labored breathing was frightening. He started to cry a bit, and he really struggled then. Thankfully those breathing treatments seem to work really quickly. Pneumonia is really scary. I don't think people realize it's so dangerous. I gotta get to bed. Take care.

  10. Duncan has the croup. He seems to be more prone to it than his siblings. He started sounding like something might be going on on Tuesday (he sounded a little barky when he cleared his throat), but he wasn't coughing, no fever, acting perfectly chipper. He was fine all day. At bedtime his breathing started to sound labored. He woke up around 2:30am and sounded really bad. Really constricted throat. He still didn't have a fever, and only an occasional barky cough. But the difficulty with breathing was very scary. We called the nurse's line. they recommended sitting in the bathroom with the shower on really hot. Did that. Worked a little, but when they called back and heard his breathing, they said to take him in. Justin took him (and I stayed home with Miranda, who was also up and cranky.) They did a breathing treatment with a steroid mist in it plus some liquid steroid. They were gone till a little after 6am (and I had just got Miranda down around 5:30..with all the flooding rain that night, too)! Duncan's still on the steroid, but overall sounds so much better. He's coughing a little more, but it's more a productive cough than the barky business. Ok, that's my novel!

  11. I thought about getting tix to Boston, because my sister lives there, but it would just be a pipedream. Justin's job situation is unstable right now, so I don't really need to go too crazy. He'd probably be ok with me going early in the day, but he'd think I'm weird. I'm not sure I'm going to go for barrier. i'm def. not tough enough to deal with the mosh pit. unless it's the conga line mosh! haha!

  12. Hey there. I asked Justin what time he'd want to line up in February, and I got a, "I don't know. We'll see how I feel that day." I said something about chairs, he said, "I don't want to lug things around." Ugh! Husbands! I'm almost certainly going to bring some sort of chair, unless we show up at 6pm. The one thing I'm worried about is I know I'll need to go pee once we get inside. I don't want to lose my spot!

  13. Yeah! Carpmeister was the hero of the hour. He came on with a "they're back on sale!" post, and we all seemed to luck on on the second wave. LMK if you want to line up together. i'll probably ahve to work on DH for timing. Folding chairs, blankets, and picnic. sounds fun!

  14. Let's do it, Renee! Let's get GA! Woot! And if I never get the password, I may have to wait to the Friday 99x sale. wah wah wah!

  15. I should say that I saw on the "Resistance Tour in the US" thread that people were talking about taking down the link, so it would be harder to get the presale info for people on on the boards, I guess.

  16. I know what you mean about the GA/seat decision. I'm feeling pretty wishy washy about it, too. The hubby is almost certainly coming. He's nice, but shy. :)

when I use the https link, my computer gives me security pop ups, The Muse resistance logo is at the top, with links for Ticket Home, Your Account, and Shopping Cart. When I click on "ticket" or "account info" or whatever, nothing happens. When I remove the s (from https), I get a screen with the performance dates and a login with the Muse resistance logo at the top. It's the same is the other, but with the actual info at the bottom. The links work on this one. I hope this makes sense.

  17. Ugh! I still haven't gotten the freakin' email. I'm trying not to stress, but it's not working! Wah! Let me know if you change your mind about standing, and we can get seats together.

  18. i've just been catching up on the ATL gig! So excited! I need to put aside a little Christmas money now, right?

  19. Thanks for your thoughts today. It was a good day. I wish the weather had been less gloomy, but what can you do? My parents took the kids for a couple of days, so we'll have a couple of days to ourselves. I will be getting together with another recorder player tomorrow for some playing. Very excited about that. Take care.

  20. I hope I didn't come across as being a jerk on the Dallas Cowboy stadium thread last night (re: the epic fail thing.) the comment I made about how it's a live performance, and errors happen was kind of just a general statement (and kinda aimed at the PIB discussion ducky was having with someone.) I think people forget that things aren't always perfect live. Some people want bands to play songs just like how they're played on the album, or it's a fail. I think these folks don't understand the creative process at all. Or the whole performing in front of thousands of people thing! :)

  21. We had an awesome time! There were a lot of muse fans (or people that liked them, even tho they were there for U2) around us. I have to admit, I don't think I'm good at the standing around for hours thing anymore. I think we'll get seats next time! It was fun being close, but we found out later that the back part of the GA section was a better place to be...fewer heads to look around, not as hot and packed. We actually were able to get good pics of U2 from back there. All the pics I took of Muse (for the most part) were crap. I thought, in spite of the smaller crowd, Muse was received well. Can't wait to the spring tour!

  22. Yeah! Thanks for your help. Again! I got my avatar. Now for a siggy....

  23. Hi! Another Atlanta area muse fan. I just saw a comment you made on a post (about muse's classical influences--from a year ago.) I thought I'd say hi, and ask if you're going to the show next week.

  24. hi! Thanks for friending me. I ended up buying the medium T with the eclipse on it. Hopefully, I'll get it in time for the show. If not, I'll get another one there!
