    It's the whole elitism thing with the 'I've been a fan since [insert first or second album].' Doesn't matter when you became a fan, doesn't matter what songs or albums you prefer. If you like Muse, you like Muse.

    Yeah, I just hope it wasn't written because fans were going on about it, rather because they wanted to. There's be massive difference in quality between the two scenarios.

    Yeah, I agree. I'm expecting to Drones to be upbeat like Psycho or Reapers riff. Obv with the depressing lyrics still.

    Not just pointing at this post, but in general... You have to remember, Muse aren't there for fan service. They write stuff that they want to write. Which is fair enough IMO, whether or not it is well received by the people, they're writing out of 'love' for it. Who knows, maybe they just don't enjoy writing long progressive tracks so much anymore, and would rather work on something fun and upbeat...

    Reapers is the only track that has taken time for me to truly warm to, maybe because live recordings. But I bloody love this now. It's great. And it was brilliant live!
