  1. Here is the thing...I told my friend to become a member today after the info was announced so he could get access to presale but when he goes in his members section it does not have the code for him... Will it stay like that or will it update? Anyone know?

Unfortunately if he was not a member before the presale was announced then he will not have the code. There is a second presale on Thursday that is open to anyone, see the News secion for more details.

  2. Did you purchase your ticket from from the venue ?

I got my ticket from Ebay and the seller got it from ticketmaster.

My hologram is more silver ( looks real ) and is just under where your number 44 is. The hologram is not on the o2 picture.

God I'm have plane tickets booked from Glasgow and paid for my hotel already. Please someone tell me I have a genuine ticket:$

Did the seller forward you his confirmation email? If so then you can use that to check on ticketmaster's website whether your ticket details match what is on the ticket itself. Failing that you may need to call ticketmaster and ask them.

  3. The only tickets available at gigsandtours are the Devon gigs and i'm getting married this weekend so that's a no go for me, unless i was to leave early which i'm sure would please my fiancee ;)

Can i ask why paypal would be a problem? I thought that was quite a safe method of payment?

Most reputable sellers of tickets have their own payment systems set up, the reason sites like that one use paypal is because it's cheaper and easier to set up than a full-blown internet payment system. Makes it easier to set up, get a few orders then fuck off without trace.

Try looking through http://www.scarletmist.com every now and then tickets will appear, and at face value. It's basically a fan-to-fan ticket service so you'd be paying the person selling the ticket directly by whichever method you agree on.

But DO NOT under any circumstance go through any site that is not an officially accepted ticket seller. You only need to look through most of the terms and conditions of these sites to see why. Mostly they offer SOUVENIR tickets - so you may not get them in time, or they may not be real, or other things. If you can't get tickets, then it's best to just hold your hands up and admit defeat. Of course you can go to a venue on a night you want to see a band, and about 5 minutes after the main gig has started you can get tickets dirt cheap off the touts who at that point just want rid...you'll miss a couple of songs but it's worth it for the savings.

  4. Hi everyone,

I have been desperately looking for tickets for ages now but at a reasonable price. Ebay is obviously very expensive and i'm not having much luck on musebay or gumtree.

Has anyone heard of this site?

They are selling them for face value near enough, not sure whether to risk it tho... :-s

Any advise would be very appreciated!!

    Thanks

    Steph

Dodgy as hell, I wouldn't trust any ticket site unless it's a major official ticket site. The fact that they offer Paypal as a payment method marks them down as a cowboy company.

There are tickets still available from http://www.gigsandtours.com so go there and get them at face value, rather than potentially risking your money on these dodgy sites.

  5. I was olly- I private messaged you. I joined on 15th July, I thought to both and it asked me to reregister on muse.mu yesterday and now I have 2 passwords for one username but no code. Im confused and gutted. If I did make mistake of only joining message board and not muse.mu (but Im sure I did!) does that make me not worthy of a code? i seems very unfair. Now touts will soak up whats left in Fridays sales and I'll not get to go

Thankyou for your help by the way- not sure if your in charge here or just know whats going on!

The pre-sale system was designed to minimise the number of people registering just to get tickets earlier than the general sale and then flogging them on eBay...although this has still happened, rather annoyingly. Unfortunately registering for just the messageboard wasn't enough, as the pre-sale codes were given to people who registered to be part of "The Resistance" duing the treasure hunt stage. It's not nice, but it's done for a reason. Best of luck with getting tickets on Friday!

  6. Touts will sign up to mailing lists for the 'fan' presales, so the system doesn't work.

If people didn't buy from them, they wouldn't bother, touts ren't the problem, the people who buy from them are.

This is why the main ticket sellers have started playing the tout game themselves, with their own premium ticket sales sites (known as scalp sites). They gave up on beating the touts, so they're trying to play them at their own game in order to increase their own profits. To the ticket agents, the touts are taking money that they believe should be rightfully theirs.
