In all seriousness, Muse are probably supporting U2 because it's an easy payday, they'll get a set fee and have to do feck all apart from turn up with instruments and pedals. It's very unlikely they'll do their own full shows as well, if they end up doing more than a couple of support shows.

Chris can't be arsed changing nappies for the next couple of years
-
that probably wont happen either.
Â
Realistically, they could do Pinkpop. First it was 2004, then 2007, so they would just skip 2010? It would happen if they do other festivals i reckon. If they dont, would it be in 2013 or something the next time?
Â
Lolwut? I doubt they keep to a three-year schedule of playing festivals. They could realistically play any festival in 2011, but I doubt they actually will. It's supposed to be a year off from what they've been saying, so I'd not be expecting them to play many gigs at all until they've got the next album ready for touring.
-
any lead as to whether they will play at a festival in the UK in 2011??
saw them at V08, missed out at Glasto this year, and would love to fly over for a festival in 2011
Doubtful, they'll probably be taking time out to write and record, or just having a holiday. I don't expect to see them back on stage after Aus until 2012.

Well from the looks of the latest interview, MM is a strong possiblity for the upcoming tour:p
I hope this happens, the backlash on the board will be pretty funny to watch

Rather than complaining on here, why not ask the store if there's anything they can do to speed things up for you...or ask for a discount/refund on the item given the delay. Ask to speak to a manager, they'll soon speed up any process when threatened with having to give you money back.

My point is that the song is still acoustic. I mean the actual whole thing played electric.
In the Hullabaloo version Chris used an electric guitar, did he not? And bass footpedals.

Sadly, this isn't the bitch about what you don't like thread.
It's also not the "tell people they're bitching about stuff you don't agree with" thread
It was an opinion, and one some may see as controversial. It fits the thread

Why all the Aussie hate??
The gigs haven't even started yet and everyone's saying, 'oh Australia is shit and Muse doesn't care about the other countries at all".
Pretty sure we had shitty 13song setlists at the BDO which were the worst of the tour, and these Arena gigs haven't even started yet.
And if Muse do play a few rarities here, then is it really worth the bitching and moaning, just to make those that went to the gigs feel bad about themselves that they got to wittness it.
I know Muse have been pretty shit this tour, but the hate should be towards them, not the fans who have paid about double the price everyone else has to go to these shows.
Saying stuff like "I hope the Aussies get shit setlists" is just rude and arrogant.
I too was pissed when they played a few rare songs in the Asian Tour before BDO and then my gig got the standard staple songs (- New Born and + Feeling Good). But I was at least happy that the Asians got to see these rarities at all.
So what I'm trying to say is, I know Muse are playing some pretty shit sets at the moment, but don't put all your hate on the Aussie Musers when our gigs haven't even started yet, cause it makes us fell bad about ourselves when we haven't even done anything wrong.
Hipbones probably should have said "I hope Australia get the same setlists that the European and American tours got".
In the interests of fairness.

Tired thread is tired
Dying thread was dying until you raked it back up

If that's the case, then I don't think writing personal songs is the way to go when you can't play them when you no longer feel like that...
Even Radiohead break out Creep on a reasonable basis, and they can't stand that song.

Bit dodge. Would explain partially why his playing is so... brutal, then, if he's not actually using a real piano.
Â
Bellamy has never used a real piano in the live setting.
-
Hmmm... onI can't get a decent shot of where the mechanism would be but from underneath it looks pretty similar to a grand.

It's a Kawai keyboard built to look like a grand piano

Matt doesn't need a grand. His style of piano play live is nowhere even within the same tectonic plate as the kind of delicate, precise playing in which a grand piano actually starts to make a difference.
He doesn't play a grand piano, it's a Kawai keyboard built to look like a grand piano.

The future tour will go either one of two ways, depending on whether the next album (if it actually happens, no guarantees it will) is any good or not.
1: If it's brilliant and full of rocking tunes then people will be a lot happier. It doesn't have to be like OoS or Absolution, it just has to be packed with actual rock songs rather than the chart-lite shite of the last two albums. The tour will go well, Muse will reclaim their live band throne and velvet robes will part across the land.
2: If it's another chart-oriented album with not enough rock in it then it will be a disappointing tour and the board will implode with complainants, because the good material will be further diluted by another set of disappointing songs.

They have 1 support act on the arena tour as all artist playing live do. They have the time if they want too. Open the doors at 1730, support from 1830 - 1915, Muse on at 20:00 and then they have 2 to 3 hours to play...
It's not that they can't or that the venue don't let them, they just don't want too.
I want Muse to do a Ken Dodd and play a 7 hour set every night
The man's in his 80s, how on earth can he do that night after night and still be as energetic as he is?
-
Bellamy could fart into his megaphone and it'd get rave reviews in papers and by diehard fans as long as the light show is there. This is fundamentally wrong. I think Muse need to get back to basics, scrap the crazy stage ideas and extra riff gubbins and just play their own music. I want to see them being actually innovative on stage rather than just playing the songs as they are on record pretty much.
-
I also think they should drop all the riffs and shit and concentrate more on putting more songs into the tour. I wouldn't want to feel like they really don't care about their own songs. It does make me wonder just how much of their live shows are taken up by riffs and fillers. Take them all out and you'd have a half hour show I bet
-
Matt should do something interesting with his keytar.
Something like throwing it in a bin. That'd be interesting enough for me.
-
It'll have to be a blindingly good album next up to make me want to see them live again.
-
The one thing that really pisses me off about Muse (in amongst all the other things that piss me off about them ) is the downkeying of songs when played live. They never sound right to my ears once they get downkeyed.

Floccinaucinihilipilification.

C) your a fucking retard.
If you're going to go around calling people retards, then it's probably a good idea to make sure your grammar is perfect.

If you're into that sort of thing, she does...personally, Lady Gaga can go jump off the Eiffel Tower without a parachute.
