  1. Yup 24th is a Monday. It's ok then. Anyway, I thought you may like Manics, Faz, if you observe their lyrics. They are poetic. Try to sample A Design For Life or Motorcycle Emptiness maybe? I also would like to recommend Travis' new album - Ode to J Smith. You can also sample it here While on the topic of the board, I landed here becos I couldn't get enough of the KL Muse gig, I was searching for more pics, the setlist, videos, gig review etc. My join date was a day after the gig. And I'm still hanging around here becos I've made friends with some cool people here
  2. Faz, me & Miele are discussing Manics Spore VS Bangkok Rock 100 I remember last time Bangkok Rock 2006 they had a lot more line-ups: Placebo, Maximo Park, Franz Ferdinand, Snow Patrol, Oasis, Ian Brown of Stone Roses....I knew about it but I didn't go... Liz, u & L weren't shoved off when recording Ash soundcheck..I remember Nut mentioning last time when Muse were soundchecking at Fort Canning, & someone was recording it, those people were being halau-ed Anyway, which way did u enter from in the afternoon (for Ash)? Did u have to show yr tickets? And what time did u enter for the proper show?
  3. Thanks Liz for yr awesome gig report !! Miele, sori for late reply. Check your PM ya?
  4. Miele...I've replied to u as well, with the pros & cons of Bangkok VS Spore...I'm arguing my case to a lawyer, tough one here Bangkok Rock tix will only go on sale 16 Oct, so still have time to think All hail to Liz for inspiring us all to heck, just do it!
  5. Liz! You are right smack at the front row! That's a very good view that you got there, awesome! Miele, I've just PM-ed you. Check it out !
  6. Yes, Liz is super awesome! The soundchecks pics are super awesome! Miele, I want to go. I prefer the Manics Spore gig (no need to book flights). Just FYI I checked return flight Bangkok cheapest is RM 445 (inc tax) Accommodation quite cheap tho - can get RM 26 pppn (with attached bathroom) Need to check my schedule too on Monday. Will come back to u
  7. Slmt Hari Raya! Have fun at Ash & Lifehouse Liz!! Btw, 2 things: Manic Street Preachers in Spore- Nov 24 Bangkok 100 Rock Festival -with Manics & Ash on Nov 30th Anyone interested? (for either one, Spore gig would be cheaper option) I've been wanting to see Manics since their Everything Must Go album
  8. Greetings! Wah but u gals want to wait for me......so terharu lah So okay next weekend then...er when's the Spore F1 race again? Don't want it to clash ya Liz! U got so much energy ya! Wow! 5 gigs + F1 Spore...now Lifehouse! Exciting year for you OK the hostel I stayed is Fragrance Hostel at Dunlop Street, near Bugis MRT. It's also near to Queen Street bus station where the buses from JB (Larkin) stops. Convenient! Within walking distance. I stayed at 6 person female dorm. Rate was SGD22 per person per nite. I booked it thru http://reservations.bookhostels.com/msltravel.com/
  9. Yes Liz, I have Song to Self album version. Got it from Travis messageboard Oh, no Travis in that Channel V show? Good in a way though...cause I missed it I actually have never met Korndamned in person haha...just communicating via email. We were from the Suede messageboard back then...yeah a pity the KL gig did not happen. But I did go the S'pore one On buka puasa, I'm not around in KL this weekend...appologies... Oooh Liz! U go girl! Where will u be staying in Spore this time around? If u don't have a fren/relative's place to bunk in, maybe u want to stay at the hostel I stayed. It's walking distance to Bugis MRT Wow..now I've got to go & listen to their Free All Angels album again...haha it was one of the soundtracks to my doing design project in uni...the memories Edit: I just counted. Liz, u have actually went for 4 gigs already (& 1 more coming up) in 2008 alone! Respect!
  10. Heya Liz! So are u going to the Ash gig? Owh I haven't got time to upload the Travis intro vids yet...will let u know once I've done them ;-) Faz, how do u know Korndamned is going to Ash gig? He told me too...knew him from Suede gig back then heheh...his gig list is memang impressive
  11. Hola! Just curious, Liz, how old were u when you liked Jason Lo's Evening News (I'm not going to mention the year)? 12? Wow! U were already exposed to indie (at that time it was referred to as alternative) music so young! I was surpised you knew Ash. And Why Does It Always Rain on Me. You must be 15 then? Haha...you might be revealing your age now by answering my question..
  12. Hello.. Camera Obscura - it's going to be at a private, small venue, the ministers won't notice. So, no need to worry there. Explosions in the Sky was held at a small venue.. Anyways, I'll always prefer a small, intimate venue rather than a big stadium where u can only see a microdot of the band. (Oh OK, u can view the large screen, but it's not the same feeling) Miele, your suggestions for activities sounds fun, but : - Fireworks finale clash with Olympics closing ceremony - Butterfingers showcase - aiyoh why start so late at 10pm? Also I need to check out their songs first. But I'm sure they are good :-) Funny that Debbie should mention she just downloaded Viva La Vida, I just did that too! (before she mentioned it lah ;-p). It's darker. It's good. Worth to buy the CD, of course! (Coldplay won't read this I'm sure, or they'll know 2 people just downloaded their album FOC ;-p)
  13. Eh? Owh......Death Cab alredi played Spore...hmmphhfffff...(what a bummer to miss them out blergh..) I read the gig review today on The Star - 2 hours! hmmphhff.... Your friend Andy is lucky again !
  14. Non-Muse related (sorry): Hey Miele, Thx for the info. I checked out Camera Obscura - reminds me a lot of Belle & Sebastian Maybe becos they are both from Scotland? Anyways, I like their folksy-tune :-) Ash - ah, those days circa 1996 ~ teenagers went gaga over Tim Wheeler I actually liked their Free All Angels album (2001) But I didn't check them out after that album (they had 2 more~according to Wiki) And oh Charlotte is no longer with the band Keep the info flowing ya Miele, thx!

The 4 new songs ! Pictures.....in next post Debbie, the Travis dude is Fran Healy. Sweet & funny Franny...he's very nice, I wish I'd met him. I actually waited at the airport for about 3 hrs, but no luck :-( He talked to the crowd before every song, explaining a bit on the songs & making jokes ! Ooh, with that lovely Scottish accent :-) Guilt Stricken, yeah, I saw Andy's pictures with Fran on Travis' messageboard ! So lucky! I'll super-impose my face on the picture haha !
  18. Congrats to Muse for winning the MAA ! Sidetracking: Btw, just got back from Singfest with Guilt-Stricken Nut, did u go? My highlight is Travis. :-) They played from 11pm- 12.30am. So actually they played on 2 days ;-) All together 20 songs, including 4 new songs from their upcoming yet to release album :-) Faz, I think it's quite weird if I post Travis pics here. Maybe I'll send you privately Thx!
  19. Hello, Just dropping by Guilt Stricken, I've sent you a PM, check it out ya
  20. Hello.. Sorry for unrelated subject... Guilt-stricken, Travis will perform from 10.30 - 11.45 pm on Saturday Are u going to stay in S'pore ? If yes, where ? Can I also join u & yr sis in S'pore to go together to the gig? (I'll be coming alone, I'm female) I haven't bought the tickets though, soon.. Nut, Still on? Thanks !
  21. Hello, Nut, do u know what time Travis will be performing on Saturday? Thx !
  22. I think I'm serious (of going) :-p Missing Travis/Coldplay combo in 2000 was not wise :-p I'm going for Saturday only Although it's cool if I can catch Jason Mraz also, but I can't I have to go back on Sunday
  23. Main acts will be at Stage 1 Refer link here http://www.singfest.sg/forum08/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=460&p=1512#p1512 'm not so sure about climbing walls, what if they detain us :-p LOL Yup, Sistic site says it starts at 12noon, last act ends 11pm OK so we can still catch the MRT if say Travis is the last act (Unless the rest aren't planning to see Travis)
  24. Count me in! I want to see Travis! Let's take zee bus together to JB first on Friday 1 Aug after office/school Then from JB to Spore on Saturday morning Nut, let's say if we don't climb, we can still hear from outside right? Anyway, last year they reduced the ticket price at the last minute to $100 or something So let's wait first Or we just listen from outside (or gate crash)
