  1. Btw, Coffee & TV had the guitarist (Graham-his pix is on the milk carton) singing instead of the singer (Damon Albarn)...anyway, ahhh glad that the younger ones (wooops heh) enjoyed the video I like another video by them - , the song sounds romantic (and another one Frenchy type- To The End)...and Morrocan influence... OK OK sorry about the Blur reminiscing Oh Coldplay Coldplay...I like them, but somehow feel they're just too big, good for them (in a way), but ah well, never mind..(I dunno why I didn't go to their first gig in S'pore in 2001 - a double bill with Travis! )...Nut take lotsa awesome pix OK? Happy for those going to Mraz, am sure you'll enjoy him! Wow I'm in a mood for videos, this is an awesome video by Radiohead - Random note: also sings woooo! (That's not Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins ya...)
  2. Miele, Faz & Liz, I sent a PM to you gals...check it out ya! Heh...I actually love Blur, each of their albums had always been different friom the previous one, the last one had Morrocan influences (they recorded it there), the album with the woo hoo song (self titled album - Blur) was recorded in Iceland, Liz' dream destination Wooo...my mom was probably right, she was predicting that Coldplay wud not come to KL becos their asking price wud be too high (dunno whether it's true or not)
  3. Thanks for the info Liz! Yeah, shud wait for confirmation first, don't believe their gimmicks! Oooh Alex likes to write about food he tasted? Coldplay: The $248 tickets are still available. I guess the free-standing ones must have finished already. In a totally unrelated matter, I just found out (it's quite old news actually), that Graham Coxon has reunited with Blur ! Their first show together since 2000 will be in July 09. Wow I hope I could catch them before something happens again, they did go to S'pore in 1996! (someone here may not have been born yet )
  4. Hello, can't resist to drop by to say I am jealous of u Nut!! So nice of your boss!! I won't be going to Coldplay's S'pore gig Sunburst? Lost hope alredi Ooooh I didn't know Franz went to S'pore last time....hope they'll come again, just got their new album - Tonight- going to listen now On another note, here's a Radiohead Japanese gig poster - see the note says there no jumping, no moshing, no crowd surfing...they must be very polite gig goers
  5. You're not alone there Faz, I've watched them 4 times already! (3 times on TV & once on You Tube yikes!) So are u glad or not they performed at the Grammys? I'm confused myself, but I surely can't get enough of them rite now! Jonny himself is confused, read here Yeah yeah I love Thom's dancing too haha! Haha yeah lol about Chris' urm, short ripped shirt, & his wife introducing Radiohead instead of Coldplay heh Just another appreciation of Radiohead, 's a clip of Bangers & Mash where Thom played drums! Oh yes Nut, your theory made sense Btw, I remember someone asking for recommendations on Mogwai, their latest lbum Hawk Is Howling is really good, also try to find Happy Songs for Happy People (this someone recommended to me, I haven't got it myself yet)
  6. Hey Nut, amazing stage set they have there! And pink drums! Did u get their setlist? Oh, & Keith still looks scary la heheh... On another note, found a link on Radiohead rehearsing for the Grammys, accompanied by a marching band here
  7. Oh dear what a mess ! Coldplay / Prodigy still not confirmed, am not buying the tickets. No confirmed dates on both their official websites. Btw Prodigy’s site is cool heh…find the right doors! I doubt Prodigy will be coming though, from their gig dates, 15th Mar they’ll be in Paris, next one 26th Mar in New York. They already finished their Asian leg of their tour Feb 5th in Tokyo.. Cool that Nut to got to watch them. Still waiting for Nut’s pix! Better watch for Radiohead & Coldplay on TV instead this Monday, 9am for the Grammy Awards. Radiohead will be performing wooot!!!
  8. Liz & Faz, thanks for telling about Capital fm….I didn’t know its existence yikes! They play Suede? Cool ! I’ve checked out the station, & they were playing Indie 101 – today specifically on American Indie History Special – so they played REM, Pearl Jam, Pavement, Jeff Buckley, Lemonheads etc… ah reminds me of the 90s ! Also, glad that everyone enjoyed their CNY celebrations/ holidays
  9. Liz! That's a really good review of Mogwai you wrote there ! You summed it up brilliantly! Can I quote your review in my blog? I especially love the quiet moments being climaxed with an explosion of noise, brilliant! So cool u got to talk to them! And you were the only one giving them sumthing...awww... I actually have a Mogwai doll at home, came to my mind just before the gig, haha it would be fun if I thought about it earlier & hang the Mogwai at the barrier in front of us Ooooh yes...we got right in front of the stage, it was awesome! The only thing that spoiled it was that Mr Canon photgrapher who blocked my view when Stuart was tweaking the errr effect knobs /pedals grrrrrr....he was right in front of me! It was also cute that Stuart took a pix of the crowd before the band left the stage We didn't get the setlist proper, but we did take a pix of the setlist, will post it later! No, they didn't play Glasgow Megasnake. They played 14 songs altogether. 2 encores Also...ooooh... "adoration" for Butterfingers
  10. Mike McCready is Pearl Jam's guitarist I'm hooked to Butterfingers' latest album -Kembali. I haven't got their earlier albums though.. Dunno if Brian Molko really was bi, but he has a son now. Btw I think this is the stage Placebo performed last Dec 6th. It was still there last week
  11. Faz, not putting too high hopes for NIN tho...betul ke? Ya Trent is good looking, haih I shudn't talk about that heh Ya lah cool poster by Nut there, happy belated bday Deb! Nut, thx for the Manics review link...although not really a review, but I appreciate the effort! Have u & frens finalized your trip to KL?
  12. Hi! Eh Nut, no reviews of Manics gig from your local papers so far? Here still none, oh well... Faz: Oooh, that feather boa on the mic is a must for Mr Nicky Wire. It's permanently stuck on the mic stand, I saw it myself Nut: Wow! Prodigy! Yes yes, Fat of the Land was brilliant! Wow, that was 12 years ago! They were revolutionary when they came out with that album! Wonder if Keith (the Prodigy singer) still wears the things he wore last time? My friend told me, he was an accountant! Anyway, I dunno if I want to go or not, I only have 2 of their albums hmmm... Wah, Radiohead got played in Twilight? Does Thom knows about this? OK, is there a link of the clip when SMBH was played in Twilight somewhere? (I'm too old to watch this kind of movie yikes!) Miele & Achi: So sorry you gals don't get to go to Bangkok. Maybe I should have bought the Manics t-shirt in Spore now that Bangkok didn't happen. So Miele, were u able to get the ticket refund? For the gig, train & flight? Btw Achi, did u go see Ash in S'pore? Oooh I haven't check out the Muse Q&A yet
  13. Oh dear I'm so sorry Miele, it's officially confirmed that Bangkok Rock is cancelled Read here
  14. Hi, this is non-Muse related, sorry. Most pix are copied from the girl in the pic (not me ) Soundcheck Setlist. This setlist is missing Everlasting (acoustic). Btw, the HK setlist came out already, exactly the same as S'pore, minus Everlasting. Now Miele, u remember this girl right? I wish I was as brave as her! She met up with the band after the soundcheck Her with Nicky James Sean James on guitar James acoustic Nicky on bass James & Nicky James again Btw, sad news regarding Richey, the missing member of Manics since 1995, is now legally declared dead. Read here
  15. Hello! Yes indeed Nut was a really hospitable host to us!! (He even put up to us pestering him whenever we got our hands on a public pay phone - We were so obsessed with pay phone!!) And he was a greeeaaat tourist guide!! Plus his 2 friends!! So Nut, thank you soooo much again for showing us around (esp on how to go to Fort Canning Park!) & treating us smashed chicken, it was really smashing yeah! Faz, we actually camped out at Fort Canning since 2.30pm, amusing ourselves reading the local newspaper (Miele's idea!) Great idea becos we cud use them to sit on the grass Manics came on to do the soundcheck around 4pm ...we tried to get near to the stage (I got some brief recording) before those LAMC (or LAME rather) ppl shoved us away! Actually, without Miele I wouldn't have dared going nearer to the stage Thanks Miele!! Anyway, we sat at the walls (near the entrance) & continued recording from there. So most of the soundcheck recording only shows trees haha..but important thing is we got the sound! They soundchecked around 7 songs...1 of them was not played during the actual gig They played 20 songs total - including 2 covers, Penny Royal Tea (by Nirvana) & gasp! Umbrella (by Rihanna) They made sure they played at least one song from each of their 8 albums The queue started around 6.40pm, there were not many ppl yet, & so we got right in front of the band for the gig !!! Awesome!!! Here's the setlist: 1. Motorcycle Emptiness 2. Autumnsong 3. La Tristesse Durera (Scream To A Sigh) 4. Faster 5. You Stole The Sun From My Heart 6. Everything Must Go 7. Ocean Spray 8. The Masses Against The Classes 9. You Love Us 10. Pennyroyal Tea (Nirvana cover) 11. Send Away The Tigers 12. A Design For Life 13. Small black flowers that grow in the sky (solo acoustic) 14. The Everlasting (solo acoustic) 15. Your Love Alone Is Not Enough 16. Umbrella (Rihanna cover) 17. 1985 18. Little Baby Nothing 19. Motown Junk 20. If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next Pix later (but one pix of the beautiful Nicky Wire went kaput ) Dang! Luckily James Dean Bradfield's pix was intact, phew.. Oooh, as usual Nicky's got his feather boa on the mic stand & silver glittery eyeliner, lovely!
  16. Thanks Nut for the info! I Anyway here is LAMC's reply (from Mr Ross Knudson) & he replied without a subject (seems like he's in a rush, or maybe too many complaints to reply to): "The 50% discount was not for the general public. This was a special subsidy for 200 tickets allocated to Students, Seniors and Singapore Military only. The offer is now closed and all tickets are still same price $95." Well it certainly is different from the link u gave, Nut, where it says the general public are eligible: For General Public Ticketing Counter: Quote valid Keppel Nights password Phone & Internet Booking: Quote valid Keppel Nights password I can find the password there, & it's : "Keppel Nights Rocks" Yes, I replied to Mr Ross, saying he was contradicting himself -by saying it was not for the general public. And I also said the offer should have started from the 1st day of the selling period instead. Anyway, to u ppl, next time, buy tickets at the last minute, especially if it's by LAMC! What an irony!
  17. Stanley Climbfall = Lifehouse's album (Liz/Faz will know # what album, I mean 1st or 2nd or 3rd etc album?) Sigur Ros = Band from Iceland, plays beautiful, haunting songs, but with indecipherable lyrics. One of their albums was titled [ ]. Now how do u tell the CD shop I want the Sigur Ros errr [ ] bracket? album Btw, I thot I heard an Ali Cafe ad with Mawi (local singer) - yikes! ripped off one of Sigur Ros's songs (I'm not sure the song title - with the piano sound, then soaring vocals), changed it a bit for the ad. Well a lot of Malaysian advertistements do that actually. Wonder if the original artiste/songwriters get credited/payed for it, maybe not Ash = Band from Ireland, been around since around 1995 I think. Rocky, with catchy tunes LAMC = gig promoter in S'pore. I've emailed them on that bitter episode, see if they reply, and how they wud explain it, if they care to
  18. Now I'm pissed  Me & Miele bought the Manics tix last week for the full price ! I haven't told Miele yet, she's on vacation rite now, don't want to spoil her mood Nut, if u hear LAMC are going to compensate the early birds, please let us know...thanx for pointing out though... Nonoor, glad u're being so positive rite now...I need some positive energy too Liz, thanks for the Sigur Ros link, will check it out...I haven't been following up on them for quite a while Oh, LAMC did that also to Ash at the last minute? They should have offered discounted tickets for early birds instead!!! Edit: I've posted my unhappiness of feeling ripped off on the band's official site. Wonder if they'll read about it? Nut, if u know any of the fans who felt being ripped off, maybe u can ask them to post on the Manics official site too? Thanks again anyway for notifying
  19. Thanks Faz for the pix It's OK...Canon compact cameras always turn blurry at nite (I've learnt my lesson well ) Oh I mean upload it on you tube then give the link? Or wait, maybe I should search on you tube first, I'm sure some kids would have uploaded something LOL to our trying to 'box' those wild kids away
  20. Sorry I always sidetrack - Faz, can u upload the Butterfingers vid last week? Poor Emmet got his forehead bleeding, he probably bumped his guitar onto his forehead, but he continued to play, what a pro! Miele, I got sumthing for u in yr inbox!
