MBK2 / Nailbomb pickup heights

How high do you guys usually set your pickups relative to the strings fretted at the 22nd?

 

I usually keeep mine pretty low, 5mm or more usually. Currently I'm annoyed with the balance between my bridge Nailbomb and neck Mq, which is much louder.

Not sure, they vary a bit, but I think less than 5mm away. The neck MQ is a bit loud, but I think that has more to do with the amount of low end than anything else

Thanks James. I think the low end on the MQ has a lot to do with the perceived level differences, I was just a bit shocked at how wimpy the NB sounds having just gone back to it from using a JB/Jazz combo on my E shape. I'll have a play around with it later hopefully and see how I get on.

Yeah it is a brighter sounding pickup. What about lowering the MQ? I set mine further away than the nailbomb. I know Phill also sets his MQ neck pickups pretty far away from the strings.

It's flush with the pickup rings! I usually set my neck humbuckers that way.
