Halloooo! I just wanted to share something which I think would make all of us happy! Stephenie Meyer (who is the famous author of the Twilight Series) mentioned MUSE's TIRO to be included in the Twilight Soundtrack if ever there is one... She even mentioned MUSE in the acknowledgment part of the Series =P

Here's the link:

She's a big fan of Muse, that's why. The only reason that made me read her books was because of Muse. Yes, I know I'm a hopeless fan.

It would be good to have Muse some exposure even in the soundtrack, we all know how successful her books are here. If people starts to recognize Muse, even though I don't want that to happen as I'm a selfish Muse fan, it will give the boys a chance to shine here and us seeing them here.

And TIRO is my ultimate favourite song from them, that's what made me a fan right away.

^ Even if given more air play, Muse songs imo does not really fit in the usual Pinoy music craving. However, TIRO is really that super duper catchy, pwede na rin madadagdagan tayo. :D

You know, I've been looking for ages for that silly book but it's still nowhere to be found. They're giving me a hard bound copy but see, I can't afford it :(. I just want to hop in the Twilight bandwagon. The later books though are available.

@ Audrey, my my my, you own matt's in Monterrey! Gawd, he looks super hot there. No, I don't fancy him, really, hehe.

*clears throat*

I knoooooooooow!

Can't resist the temptation of owning one of Matt's shirt, that shirt made me mental. :ninja:

You are defo right about it. Most of Pinoys like RNB or bands similar to PATD, FOB etc. Hindi sa minamaliit ko mga Pinoy pero if you're not open-minded to other music genre then defo people won't appreciate Muse because they're so much different from the other bands. Who would have thought that rock band can mix a bit or rnb and electronica in song eh?

Have you tried Fullybooked? I know they still have loads. :D

Matt always gets me wowed, idk. :D

How'd you know na August 2? No, haven't checked Fullybooked, too far from our place. haven't gone there at all really.

I think it's not only the genre of music or how good they are that accounts for in totally liking the band. You have to add Matt's take on things that basically shapes the whole of their music. And that really takes a hell lot of receptiveness. The usual Pinoy taste in music always revolves around love, heartbreaks, and relationships that is easy listening. Everything I'm basing with my experience to over 75% of the people I know, hehe, so I apologize for my generalization.

Its his voice and his talent at least for me. I always go speechless just by watching them play.

http://twilightcovenph.blogspot.com/ - check that site, its like a street team/fan based here in Manila for Meyer's work. The details are there. But the philippine release of the book is on August 4.

I do agree. No wonder some of their songs aren't radio friendly or given an air play because people will just ignore it. Based on experience when I was still listening to Magic 2 years ago, Starlight went to number 1 spot for a month, people liked it because they perceived it as love song. But after that single they released SMBH, didn't get an air play here at least not in pop radio station. I've heard Francis Brew plays them in his show at NU but that's because he's a fan.

All in all, Brit bands have a different take in making music.

And Pinoys are so emotional that's why they prefer listening to songs talking about heartbreak/relationship/love.

i'm kinda excited for breaking dawn and midnight sun already! and the movie of course hahaha wheeeee..

yeah i have to agree with your observation regarding the pinoy music taste. most filipinos who know muse just know of their song STARLIGHT. (and gosh most of them even pronounce it as "ISTARLAYT")

Hmpf!

Well pag nagshi-share ako ng Muse sa mga friends ko I'll always give them Megalomania because I know it sounds dark for their liking, haha, pero at least I let them hear one of Muse's most beautiful songs (at least for me). Di ba ganun nga yun, you condemn your close friends/sister/brother for liking this certain band/artist that you feel a little obsessed with, tapos eto pa I'm starting to hate my sister for playing Muse, di ko alam kung trip niya lang mag sound trip pero pinapatugtog niya mag-isa, I'm starting to get irritated, and when I went to their office nakita kong Muse ang wallpaper niya, grrrr. No wait, she only like SMBH, Invincible, TiRO and is obsessed with Starlight.

Oi! Presh, anong kay Chuck at Casey yun?! :indiff: Hindi ako papayag. Dapat sa kanila SMBH.

I shared Muse once to my friend, told her they're great band and all. Excitedly she searched for their pics, liked what she saw. I let her fangirl for a few days then I dropped the bomb one day, telling her they're pervert. I love the way she reacted. Since then she stopped listening to them, ghad! I hate it when people like bands just because of the looks.

Ah no no. Nako ayaw nga niya ng Showbiz and OoS. I just don't like the way she skips tracks and those tracks talaga yung magaganda, doesn't even play a single b-side, tapos mangunguha ng pics eh di niya nga kilala yung 3. I'm just over protective, that's all, hehe.
