ashdawson
This is my first recording and I'd like feedback I was really nervous about posting this but I need to take the leap! So, here it is: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvOD1h2j1L0 It wasn't recorded in any sort of professional environment. I would like feedback on whether (or not) I should pursue this Please be gentle!
Hat
You have a really good and unique voice, the problem is that you overdo it a LOT. At certain points it almost sounds like you're taking the piss. But like I said, good voice and loads of potential, just hold back a bit on the dramatic style. ashdawson
I see what you mean - it is a bit dramatic. I think I'm probably trying a bit too hard to sound like Matt. I can assure that I'm not trying to take the piss though! I appreciate any feedback. What song should I try to sing?
Stewez26
Being overdramatic would almost work during the heavier parts of the song really, but while you're singing to a softer track like this, you are best off trying to sing as smooth as possible until it kicks in. Actually curious to see how it would sound though if you sing to the original instrumental of New Born, in the similar style as this!
ashdawson
Good point - I guess I've been over hasty with the emphasis during the demo. I'll try to record this with the heavier parts of the song. Just realised - I f**ked up the lyrics during the first few bars. What an amateur!
