    Obviously not gonna get a set like this BUT it has given me the Muse itch! Is that Bestival set happening? Or was Matt just having a brain freeze? Don't see them announced on the line up and still no official news, would of thought it would be out there by now??

    I finally crawled in at 11pm last night after a nightmare of trains, buses and taxi's from Donington to Aberdeen! These things happen, for the extra expensive, I probably should of stayed and bought a Sunday day ticket :p

    Loving reading everyone's great experiences! I've said a bit already but just to add a bit more, we were about 20 from the front, on the left side and were in moshing and rocking central! Thought the sound mix was superb from there! Knights mix sounded best ever!

     

    Just back from download. Muse totally killed it. Everyone i spoke to in the campsite said they disliked muses music or it wasnt for them (actually most were a lot worse than that) and after the gig everyone was blown away. "Matt bellamy is a guitar god" was a common saying. A lot saying it was one of the best, if not thee best, headliner they had seen, even coming from some monsters of rock goers. Set was incredible and the bass was heaviest ive ever seen for a festival. Made me wonder if download stages are louder than other festivals because sometimes i feel the bass can get lost in a total open air environment like t in the park. But even dead inside was a monster. Micro cuts and CE were unreal. 2nd time ive seen both dead star and agitated i feel very fortunate lol. I also used to hate screamo but im now giving it a go after seeing some good bands.

     

    GREAT! Hopefully they've been schooled now! ;)

     

    BTW, how much of the crowd were Muse fans, do we think? It's hard to judge when you're fairly near the front and that's likely were the hardcore fans are! How was it further back, was it jumping back too? I don't believe I ever got a full look of how many were there, was it packed right back? Matt did say "Oh wow,they're tons of you fuckers here" though...

     

    They won't play the full gig unfortunately, just a selection of songs. Headliners usually get 2-3 :I believe :(

    Well, you never know! Aerosmith just released their full Download set in cinemas, and DVD soon....Do we think it was a good enough gig to get a release? I DO! It was very special! Would they care about the slip at the start? I didn't even notice ! I'd love to see the whole thing from the comfort of my sofa as u miss a lot when you're jumping up and down like a madman!

    What happened? Bus not turn up?

     

    Exactly that! Too tired to be furious! I'm used to lack of sleep but my friend, Sarah was really struggling...the ultimate comedown after the high!!

     

    Citizen and Micro were highlights but thought everything was turned up a notch to 11! Matt's voice sounded powerful from where we were!

    Wow wee!! Could of got closer but we decided on about 20 from the front! Those first 7 songs, hot damn! Best start to a set ever? I enjoy the whole thing! Matt was sounding great and were I was standing, everyone was into it and going nuts or all,especially during the encore!

    True story by the way, but I turned to my friend just post agiatated and said "if they play citizen erased tonight, I'm gonna loose it big time!"...seconds later the chords rang out!! Amazing amazing night!!

    Microcuts had Matt screaming all kindas of freaky!

    It's wet

     

    Just flew over the festival and landed! It's raining but nothin that's gonna kill ya, meant to be (hopefully) dry by Muse time and that's all that matters!!

     

    We're chilling at the airport and heading out for around 10, not sure about acts we want to see beyond rise against, black star riders , faith no more and obviously Muse!

    Any suggestions from you guys better in the know, of bands to check out? Or interesting acts? Anyone have a game plan on what time you'll be staying put the main stage?

     

    Have a rocking day everybody!! This will be momentus!

    Hahah great choice :D

     

    You know where the bus back goes from? What will you do in Loughborough?

     

    I have the location on google maps, just wondering if it'll be far from the bus we get from Donington to Loughborough! It's outside the Uni, isn't it? Is it obvious?

    Really interested in what people are planning to see throughout the day! There's quite a bunch of acts I don't know much about, so planning is less easy than I'd imagine! If anyone has the inside on anything that it is worth checking out or would just like to share how they plan to hop around, I'd love to hear what's worth checking out! Also when you're planning to get in position for Muse and how close you expect to get?

    The Handler's been pretty much confirmed along with Dead Star by Dom iirc. It'll probs get played tonight anyway though.

     

    When was Dead Star confirmed? Was that to a fan?

    I think Fury has a good chance as Matt has mentioned it a few times

    of late in interviews...

    So since a few of you chimed in with set list predictions I'm gonna do mine.

    1st list is what I'd love, 2nd list is what I expect.

     

    There's been some (expected) nay-sayers about Muse headlining Download! It's a "metal festival"! Truth be told, a lot of softer acts have been chosen to perform at the festival in

    recent years, so don't know what's the deal! I also suspect most people that say they don't like Muse or whatever, are probably still pretty familiar with some of the work, especially early stuff...I Think if they kicked off with something nobody expected they'd do, it would really get people on board from word go....if there's any doubters!

    Guess it's worth a try seeing as it looks like we'll be getting some rarities anyway, why not go for another. There's a chance it could work, they're already well aware fans want it back. Might have left it a bit late now though.

     

    In other news - hype levels at 60% and rising. 48 hours, kiddos.

    Just read the Kerrang article on Muse at Download! It's quite funny as it has a sub-section with Matt responding to twitter nay-sayers on Muse being a headline act at this metal festival!

    From the main interview, Matt says this is the heaviest they're likely to ever be! So that's really promising, can hardly wait! So glad I took the plunge! Just need some heavy wind to blow the rain clouds away, please....

    They vary in size. The large ones (£3) can fit a suitcase. We fit two backpacks/gym bags into the smallest ones

     

    Thanks for all your help again Mozza! We are flying down first thing on the saturday with the decent priced flight and then taking the hit on the way back with the 4.05am megabus from loughborough! So all fun and games, now just to get a last minute locker, same all the ones with the phone charging are sold out! :D

    Thanks again to all the helpful folk on here that are giving the best advice to fans that want to make the journey!

    RE: Weather.

     

    Just have to wait and see, I would be surprise if we had NO rain what-so-ever, but

    I have seen other reports saying it should be fairly dry...So these are just predictions, cycles can change slightly which set the weather on a slightly different pattern, as we know! So will just have to see on Saturday!
