I've listened to it a couple of times now. It's not bad. Definitely better than Dig Down, but that's hardly an accomplishment.
Not a fan of the 30STM-chanting and the electronic drums, but I like the guitar and bass. Wish the guitar would be a bit more prominent though. The solo is fun, but could've been so much more.
All in all: Not bad. Not great, but certainly not THAT bad.

Oh no...

I'm really, really curious at this point what the difference is in Matt's vocal struggles from tour leg to tour leg.
I thought he sounded pretty damn decent on the amphitheater tour in the fall, and that last Oz gig had one of the worst Mercy's of the era.
Yeah, that Instagram clip was extremely rough. He sounded like he was ready to pass out from getting out of breath.

Was this the best Muse gig since the Abso tour?
Does it rank among some of the GOATs like Glasto '04, Earls Court, R+L '11, Tokyo '07?
questions
Can't stop watching vids, it's like one of those 'BH&R in full @ SBE' dreams I used to have and go on about all the time. But this actually happened, like, tf?
In my opinion, definitely. But maybe my view is a bit subjective, since I was actually there.
The Earls Court and Glastonbury '04 shows have something magical to me. They were/are 'legendary' Muse shows. The band was at its peak there. Sure, nowadays they may not be as good as they used to be quality-wise. But this SBE gig still feels like a dream and, imo, can rival shows like Glasto and Earls Court in terms of atmosphere and set. This was unique show. But again, I'm pretty fucking biased.

Holy shit, Muse and Brian Johnson? That's fucking great!

Updated after the most disappointing gig ever. Just 12 songs, nothing new. First time no Resistance, so that's something...:
Just realised yesterdays show was EXACTLY one year after the ^shit show^ at Lowlands 2016 ^. The contrast couldn't be any bigger. Yesterday was fucking amazing. I NEVER expected to ever hear the songs I saw yesterday! Still feels like a dream.

Got back home (Netherlands) about two hours ago and watched the IG-stream back immediately. I stil cannot believe I was there, yesterday seems like a fucking dream. Unbelievable...
This was the best gig I have ever been to. I've seen some fucking amazing shows (stuff like Metallica, A7X, AC/DC and whatnot), but I don't think any show will ever top yesterdays. The crowd was just fucking insane, my god... I really hope this gig opened the guys' eyes and they'll keep some of the songs around!
(Also, the fact nobody around me (LVL2) knew Too Many Puppies and thought it was a new song was pretty funny )
-
Fucking hell, that was amazing. Was trembling the whole fucking gig. What's the best place to grab a beer around here, btw?
-
Loudwire (of all sites) wrote a review about the NY charity gig and called NKOK a highlight. What. The. Fuck.
I wonder if they were actually there...

Which everyone will definitely vote for
I would've happily chosen COD! Shame it wasn't on the list
-
Just did my and my +1's vote! We both decided to settle for:
Muscle Museum
Assassin
Invincible
SFA
Easily
Eternally Missed
Yes Please
Showbiz
Futurism
Do We Need This
We kinda wanted to pick Hyper Music instead of Assassin, but somehow the list wouldn't let us choose HM and DWNT. Only one of those was an option.
-
Maybe they changed it to five to make it more easy to monitor? They didn't really specify how many songs they would play out of all the votes, in the first place. They could still pick the top 10 most voted songs, even if people can only vote for five.
Or am I just wishful thinking...?
-
That would be pure bullshit...

I GOT THEM!!!! Level 3 seats, but still! I've got six weeks to plan a trip from NL to London now

Haven't got an email yet...

Hmm, why not call TicketMaster and ask?
Yeah, I'll try calling when I get the chance and can find what it costs (it's a foreign call, so it'll probably cost a shitload of money).
I read in the FAQ that when your card gets lost or stolen, you can sort it out at the box office. So it is possible to enter the venue without a physical card. They'll check if the barcodes on your tickets haven't been used yet and you need to present your ID, so surely it'll work out. I hope.
I'll still be able to show all the needed info: my payment info, card number, etc. are all on my phone. Plus, I'll have my photo ID with me of course.
-
Try adding your card as a payment method in your Ticketmaster account now. (If you don't have a Ticketmaster account, then create one first). I suspect that if it allows you to add the card now, then it will be acceptable for payment later. This way, you remove one stressful step from the buying process.
Just tried that, but that only works for credit cards. Apparently, you need a card number and security code for a payment with a debit card as well. Mine doesn't have that, so I guess Dutch debit cards are different than UK ones...
Now I could use my virtual prepaid credit card, but that would mean I have no physical credit card to show at the door...
EDIT: Was able to ad my virtual card as a payment method, so I guess I can buy tickets with it. Still, the 'no physical card'-problem remains
-
Maestro is good!
I typed Maestro into the search bar.
Ah great, thanks!
are people getting their passwords?Haven't received anything either.
-
Usually when they say that they mean Visa or MasterCard. If your debit card has one of those on (mine is Visa) you should be right.
Hmm, my debit card is Maestro. I do have a virtual prepaid credit card though, which is Visa. But it's not a physical card. Wonder if that would be a problem, since I could show all my payment info at the door, but it would be on my phone.
-
Reading all the info, I only see credit cards mentioned as payment method. Can you not buy tickets with a debit card? 'Cause in that case, I'm fucked. Credit cards aren't really common here in the Netherlands...
-
Worse really, since it looks like we're going down from 17 songs to 15.
Expected the set to be pop-filled since it's the US but didn't think they'd be shortening sets even more tbh.
Oh yeah, your right. Past US-tour at least had UD+Revolt, or the occasional Map/Reapers. I'm just baffled by the fact they still managed to disappoint, even with expectations being this low.
-
Plus the absolutely insulting playback of NKoK.
It's embarrassing. I thought the setlist at Lowlands Festival, where I saw them, was bad. But that was a festival gig. This is an actual headline show and it's almost just as bad. I'm lost for words...
But then again, did we really expect anything different?
-
Knights now. Well, that's it. The tour's gonna be the same boring minimal Drones-tour set, with Dick Down added to it.
EDIT: And the NKoK playback of course! How could I ever forget that highlight!

Yeah, I started thinking that as well... Didn't Matt actually mention the idea of VR/AR gigs in the past?
