  1. Can't make heads or tails of this one. To me the verse and pre-chorus are the best the album has to offer while the chorus is probably the worst. Really, weak choruses is an unfortunate theme of the album in general I think, but never is the chasm wider than here.
  2. Literally right as I read this I heard it for the first time.
  3. The best song on the album we've heard by far and the only one that doesn't have a part I kind of hate. The middle section I do think is weaker than the rest and it drags but it doesn't make me want to just immediately skip to another song unlike what comes after the second chorus in just about every other Drones track yet.
  4. The last section of the song just kills it for me. I actually like the rest of it, musically anyway, but unlike SfA, RbS, Madness or a million other songs of theirs that kick into high gear at the end, it doesn't really feel earned at all. It just starts flailing around for a change of scenery and falls flat.
  5. I'm all for them taking a cue or two from NIN. As well as a lot of the Muse bombast is put together, and it's certainly more spectacular than a lot of bands, I don't think there's a single band that manages to marry the visuals with the music as well as NIN does. is part of a show from their most recent tour for anyone unfamiliar.
  6. Oh, duh. That would probably go somewhere in the middle. I like it live, don't really listen to it otherwise.
  7. Showbiz and OoS were the hardest. The main reason for OoS is that it has a bunch of songs I think really work live but fall flat on the album. And with Showbiz, half the album I don't even listen to at all, ever. There's a touch of the live thing too, Muscle Museum is ten times better live than in the studio version for example. I tried to half-ass some kind of composite together where I had to average. Under the right circumstance I like CE the most on OoS, but I don't feel like I can put that at #1 if I never really seek out the album version. The 2nd Law 1. Animals 2. Panic Station 3. Madness 4.
