Pretty sure What's He Building > Showbiz would hold the title for best opener ever, for all of time. Even ignoring how great it flows, walking on and effectively saying "Right, you wanted Showbiz? Here yer fuckin' go then." would just be such a perfect way to start a gig like this. The room would go apeshit.
As for What's He Building itself though, I'm pretty confident it'll happen. If not opening then maybe for the encore like Zepp and Montreux.
Honestly I don't think that it is the smartest choice for the first song, it is way too difficult not to warm up just a bit with a few songs.
...but yeah that would fucking rule.

I mean, the hardest part is probs those two long G#4s in the 2nd chorus and, if they take it down half a step (which I expect them to), that's only a G4 - which he does in Mercy every night tmk.
The third chorus switches to falsetto so he should be fine on that and the infamous final falsetto can probs be covered up with guitar fuckery on the upper frets. Or lowered, which honestly wouldn't be a big deal imo since the rest of the song is fucking amazing anyway.
I sang it when we were doing a tribute gig... And man, that 2nd chorus really is killer... Because the notes are toooooo long....
-
Don't worry, it will be down 3 steps, sound like mud and Matt will get Chris to do the screaming at the end
Jobby, this.
-
Anybody slightly worried Showbiz might disappoint?
-
It builds with every verse/chorus and the vocal melody isn't mind-numbing
It is not mind-numbing, it is haunting. (SFA)

Sing For Absolution is a beautiful song.
To me, to be honest, I don't see why people are so crazy about Eternally Missed. It is the only of the top voted songs that I really don't find anything special about.
-
FAWY is the exception for me - I reckon it could sound beautiful live. Strip it down to just the basic guitar, bass and drum parts and add some swirly synths. Unfff.
Exactly.
-
Seriously, where does all this S4A love come from
It's had it's fair share of votes, dawg.
I thought that it would be voted for most alongside Showbiz and Glorious. Kinda bummed that it might not get played... They never ever performed it live... :(
-
Are you guys really not gonna vote for Falling Away With You?
-
I am really not a fan of The Killers, but that was a class move. And a pretty decent cover! Don't understand the hate, really. They did a nice thing to the band and the fans who were not lucky enough to hear them.
-
I mean, we're less than 3 weeks away from a by request gig where all of those are likely to finish v high in the vote so it's not that surprising. Lotta people expected that they might start popping up at soundchecks.
I thought the same, but when I saw showbiz I was suspicious.
-
Real. People at the gig claimed those were soundchecked, followed shortly by Muse posting a clip of them playing Fury.
holyfuckingdamnbloodyshit Showbiz. Others too, especially Glorious, but... SHOWBIZ! God, is this really happening?
I am pretty sure the pitch will be lower, though.

This can't be real, can it? The soundcheck, I mean. Gotta be trolling??

FECK
FECK FECK FECK FECK FECK
My best friends wedding is on that date
FEEEECK
Don't go. If he/she is REALLY your best friend, then he/she will understand.
-
Now for those of you get the tickets, and do NOT request Showbiz, just... I don't know, I hope you never get to see Muse live anymore.
-
Am I the only one here who thinks Matt's voice has gone downhill a lot lately? He seems to be struggling, and his falsetto is very weak, too.
-
I really don't get why people talk about the solo as a redeeming quality or best part. Isn't it like 5-10 seconds of nothing?
That's why it's shit.
-
What the fuck is wrong with Matt's voice?
-
Is it just me now or Muse seriously needs to take a break from touring and making music? Like a year or two or three to clear their minds? Not only is their music uninspired, but they even look tired and bored. ANKOK playback is the last straw for me. .
I agree so much.
-
The worst part of the song for me has to be the guitar solo. It's completely pointless. It's as if Matt just threw it in to try make it more of a rock song.
Oh how I agree...
-
The song is shit, I will not focus on that. But I will focus on this -> It is the most boring, dullest Muse song ever.
-
God, this is the worst their concerts have ever been. The setlist is short, and what is it with the jams, interludes, NKOK, etc?? I guess it all comes down to this - Matt is struggling with his voice, and he can't pull it off anymore as he used to. I am wondering if that laryngitis from 2014 might have taken its toll on his voice...
...or am I crazy?
-
The fact that they refuse to play ONE of these songs at their own arena gigs (or even CE or Bliss if you're US) and then they do shit like this for no reason is indeed a dick move.
I agree. Their setlist in Prague was disastrous, with same old stuff over and over again (you CAN lose one of the singles), and with a snooze-fest in the middle including Feeling Good, Revolt, Starlight, Madness... even though I like some of them, I went to a fucking rock concert of a rock band with such a rich catalogue of rock songs, I just wished for at least one more song like Stockholm, MoTP, Citizen... I think they are terrible at conceptualizing their setlist, flow and energy wise. Make the shit more equal, ffs... We too gave money to see you rock out, at YOUR OWN show.
-
As much as I like Panic Station, Tom Waits into PS must be really disappointing
With this setlist I wouldn't give a flying fu*k if they went straight into Guiding Light.

Yeah I meant like, put it in... 3rd slot or sth.
