I am doing this cover for someone of Mr. Jones by Counting Crows... i don't have any monitors, just a cheap pair of headphones and some basic recording equipment.. decent mic.. guitar rig is for the guitars, a guitar with a octave pedal for the bass lol... so here is a quick minute clip of it...
can anyone tell me what obvious recording issues you can hear right off the bat that i might not be able to really notice through my headphones and/or something i just don't know because i'm not that good at it

finally got the bridge so could drill all the holes and route for the pickup. its so much easier when your drill press can reach all the holes.

the neck is being glued in now, and will be carved into the heel so its nice and smooth. the body back will be bursted, so do i tape the neck off and leave it natural or burst the neck as well?

i hope thats not strung through ferrules i see... please use a TOM bridge! it looks sooo much neater!

the charity one is the sakura hanami (the red one with all the inlay on it).
im just making this to use that bit of maple! and i plan on giving it to chantel mcgregor
oh and i use an airbrush to do sunbursts
how much would this go for if you were to sell it?

this is a bit more like it is
its gonna be an almost opaque black/dark brown on the back and sides, running over onto the top to hide the two little bits of maple that were stuck on the get the width right
how do you do a sunburst finish? thats beautiful

hehe. erm....i still need tuners, but they're the three aside ones. and i want small buttons. not the massive ones that come with the three aside ones. some people (like mansons and stewmac) do the three aside ones with small buttons, but they're the small tuners with the screw hole at the side, and they dont fit.
iv emailed mansons about getting some small tuner buttons, as i figured they'd have a few what with doing the special hardware on some mb1s, and they've said they're gonna have a root around and see what there is.
apart from tuners theres just three pots, switch, capacitor, jack and thats it i think.
EDIT: oh, and a case!!! i forgot about that. bugger
i asked them the other day about spare tuners
theyve just ordered a shit load but have none in stock right now

Didn't they auction off a signed amp or something quite recently?

i want to get the sakura hanami finished so i can auction it off in aid of the people in japan who need it more than i do. so if anyone knows any rich people who can fund me to finish it, or any famous people who like to be seen to be doing good deeds to ramp up the auction price, you know where i am!

we did an acoustic jam a last week at this strange bar in the nothern quarter of manchester, literally just a chilled out night with a cajon and a few guitars, don't really post much band stuff here but seen as though its a muse cover i thought i'd give it a whirl!
i haven't heard it myself yet as i am still in work but my guitarist siad the recording isnt that great and that the guitar sounds like a banjo...no idea how it was recorded though
