Really? read your post again then
And also, "and I only argued with you cos I had just read your TSP qoute"?
But this is getting very off-topic, so I'll finish with another "controversial opinion"...damnit, I've already written them all
fine. I was annoyed, but mental is an exaggeration
-
Radiohead do their fans more justice and do better gigs, but I don't like their songs...
-
Says the person going mental because someone hates TSP?
I didn't go mental, I just did
as a unhappy response
-
Oh well, you DO know that a joke on the internet would require a little more sarcasm to it to be spotted?
"I hate Exogenesis"
"really?"
"...No, it was obviously a joke"
Oh and btw, The Small Print should never be played live again, and Hysteria really should take a rest from the setlists.
Thom Yorke is a better pianist than Matt.
... whoa clam down
-
i was joking...
-
Oh and Radiohead > Muse.
End of debate.
go away then.
Muse >>>> Radiohead
-
Oh, and Blackout >>> Exogenesis
I would say:
Blackout > 90% of exogenesis
but the middle bit of redemption > pretty much everything
-
Fair enough. It was a little over the top. It is in my top 5 most disliked Muse songs though.
well each to there own;
Koc is in my 5 top most disliked songs
-
The poo I did this morning > TSP.
I know you are joking, but I actually hate you for that comment.
The Small Print > KoC , CE , Exogenesis , Plug In Baby, Space Dementia , Hyateria , Blackout , RBS , TIRO , New Born , MM , Showbiz , B&H, Assassin, Sunburn, MK Ultra, Bliss ect.
It is my 2nd favourite song in the world, after SS
-
They need to drop 'Hysteria' from their live set. It's probably my favourite studio track but it's lost its impact live in my opinion. No way near as epic as the performances in 2004. But then again what isn't?
They need to drop 'Starlight' too.
For me 'Knights of Cydonia' and 'Stockholm Syndrome' were the two songs that blew me away the most when I saw Muse live.
they will never drop hysteria and I am glad of it.
SS and new born will be the next to go unfortually.
starlight, tiro, fg, gl, resistance all can go
and koc can close the main set rather than the show (if i was muse's setlist writer)
-
It's an alright song, thats pretty much it. The first ever live version of it was incredible but then they ruined it when they recorded it.
which live version is this??
do you have a link?
and imo. when koc turned up, SS died
-
I know I am the only muse fan who doesn't adore KoC .... but why is it soo good?
It has a riff and some good vocals but I've always thought it sounded a bit on the light side..
-
No, but I think musically it's a better song. If that makes sense.
TSP I like. But it's average.
fair enough, musically I would go:
KoC > UD > SMBH > Escape > The Small Print
but for enjoyment:
The Small Print > UD > Escape > SMBH > KoC
-
KoC>SMBH>Escape>UD>TSP
nah, I love the small print and UD .... I thought you loved escape (in the name) do you actually prefer SMBH ??
-
The Small Print > Undisclosed Desires > Supermassive Black Hole > Escape > Knights of Cydonia
-
Showbiz (the song) should grow on you
+1
.... for me it is ashamed
-
I think Glastonbury 2010 was better than 04, from what I've seen on youtube.
Drums and vocals are miles better in '10. Say what you will about Muse's live show these days, but I think they're at the top of their game right now.
not one song was performed nearly as well in '10. In '04 every song was amazingly mind blowing. '10 was a let down after what it should and could have been.
-
The Small Print > CE + Exogenesis
-
Probably man, SS just comes off as a recurring theme.
yeh sorry, I just can't help it
-
I think the ups and downs of Muse's performances are more complex that where and how Stockholm Syndrome is performed.
fine replace the word SS with new born and all of my posts still are true (maybe replace scream with end falsetto and piano intro)
and I care more about SS than TR or BH&R
edit: and I swear I mentioned showbiz??
-
I definitely understand what you're saying.
And for the most part, you are 100% correct. But there are a select few who insist on the whole "everything post-Absolution Tour is just terrible sell-out Muse." If you know what I mean. Opinions are great! But why bother being on the boards if you hate what Muse is now?
because old muse dose still exist and those people can still go and listen to absolution tour by themselves in a dark room if they want. I can imagine if you absolutely hate BH&R and TR and had been a fan of Muse since Uno then u must feel let down and that is why they troll.
I personally prefer Absolution and OoS but I like the new stuff too
-
Of course, I'm just saying that I understand why he doesn't do it. But I would love it if he did of course
ok agreed, but I do think that his mind set would be different if he hadn't got in to the whole Starlight, UD, resistance, GL, NSC thing..... and they could still play SS with more passion even if he saved his voice.
Showbiz in '06 was a shadow of its former self for example and there is no reason why it can't be passionate...
ok I'll stop complaining before someone complains at me!
-
Okay then, losing his voice over time and having him sound like James LaBrie on the next album
but wouldn't you prefer a '04 style SS performance even if it was only at wembley rather than never at all (once wouldn't kill him that quickly..)
-
SS almost always gets about 2/3's of the post riffage. I think it's to do with the publicity and accessability of the glasto performance that people believe it was head and shoulders above the rest.
This tour, people were worried about the Glitteratti being broken in a New Born post riffage destruction spree where he'd smashed the guitar and thrown it into the drums again. And that was just a standard arena date with handcam rtecordings on youtube.
I'm not expecting them to be as outrageous at Glast next Saturday, but it's not a stretch of the imagination at all for them to go ahead and do it again.
SS nowdays is so restrained cos he is always saving up for Koc which imo should be earlier in the set.
Although we get riffs they are not so mental

I actually know the radiohead bass guitarist, and get on with him, but I really don't like radiohead at all. and I LOVE muse
