  1. I don't think matt hesitated when introducing bliss. That just seemed his usual awkward self. Most he spoke all night. Performance was top notch. Lots of energy all over. Maybe the most energetic crowd I've been in outside of Webster hall and a couple others.

  2. Ok great. I've just got some tracking numbers for my tickets as well.

And I don't know about the whole VIP deal. Last time, it was only really appealing to me because of what you get to see (I did take 86 pictures  ) but you could easily get a decent seat for the standard price.

...now it seems like if you want a barrier spot, it's going to be difficult otherwise. I recall most people actually skipped the museum bit completely, and went to the arena as soon as they were allowed to.

yeah doing the VIP once is enough.

Where you from on the Island? We've been to all the same shows I feel like we must've seen each other at some point

  3. Good to know...I got tix in section H and was kinda disappointed at the time....but if they're yanking out all those seats, I'm ok with it. Traveling in and never been there before, but kinda surprised that's the case, pictures and diagrams I've looked at just figured those front sections were anchored in and couldn't be moved.

If section H is in the orchestra you'll be in seats. Sections G-H are all in the orchestra and I was told they would be seated. I originally got a seat there and wanted to clarify.

  4. I think it's the first one. On that bit that lets you choose your seats on ticketmaster, they didn't have the option to choose anything in A, B, C, or D - it was only GA pit in that area.

I got a ticket in PIT1, but noticed there's also PIT2. Not sure if there's a difference or not, but hopefully not split into two different sections like MSG a few years back...

I spoke to live nation yesterday to find out about both of those things. It is the top diagram. and I was told PIT1 and PIT2 are all the same, just split up for counting purposes.

  5.

The whole idiot fans thing... yeah, to say "hey, just remove yourself from the situation" is dumb. You waited for that spot all this time, and you're just going to leave because some annoying twat(s) is being annoying? You shouldn't have to leave.

never said "leave your spot". as i stated before, everyone that's responded to my comment has filled in the blank/inferred what i said, which is ridiculous since i was as general as possible in my statement.

  6. Ignore shitposts like his lol who is he to tell anyone their complaints are invalid because of some arbitrary rule he came up with

I didn't come up with any arbitrary rule. All I said is if someone is acting inappropriately your choices are to confront them or remove yourself from the situation. Pretty basic shit, you all are putting words in my mouth

  7. You seriously think someone who doesn't have the common sense/decency to not act like an asshole during a song/entire concert will properly react to being confronted about said behavior?

No idea, completely variable situation. I also made no such reference that someone would react appropriately at all, so I don't know why you're assuming that's what I was thinking

  8. This is true but this mindset is becoming more and more common and in some gigs it's becoming impossible to escape the talkers.

    So confused by it all.

evolution of american rock concerts? i'm not saying that it's right or respectful, but it is what it is. if you don't have the gusto to speak up to ask them to stop then you can't complain about it happening

  9.

There were a group of VIPs near me who raved on and on about what big fans they were before the band came on, but really just spent like an hour squealing about how cute the band members were, and talking shit about Matt's girlfriend.

They knew enough facts about the band that I was thinking "okay, they're just young, at least they know their shit..." and then it became completely obvious that they didn't know a single song off of Drones, and really only sang along to SMBH, Resistance, and Starlight.

The gig was hard to hear enough as it was, at least the guitar and vocals, and they talked about Twitter and being drunk through pretty much everything else. Loudly.

Thought my bf was going to murder them during The Globalist.

    .

amazingly, people are allowed to do what they want during a show, including talk. so you could've moved away from them if they were annoying you

  10. I mentioned in a post yesterday about how Green Day still play a few songs from their pre-Dookie indie days for the hardcore fans. They don't really consider that some of the crowd may just be there to hear Time of Your Life, American Idiot and Boulevard of Broken Dreams.

Their attitude is not to act apologetic about performing a rarity as much as encouraging the newbies to check out Kerplunk.

yeah i remember seeing that. i dont disagree, the only way Muse could get people to get into older albums more would be to play songs from them, but for whatever reasons they seem hesitant to do so

  11. The flip side is that, for the same reasons, it didn't make much sense not to play more from pre-Absolution. If fans were only there to see Madness, Resistance and Starlight anyway, it couldn't have hurt to play Origin songs with more regularity. Are Hysteria, UD and Map so much better known among casuals than PIB and CE? And, in the end, who cares? They still got to hear the handful of songs they wanted.

For better or worse, it's probably more surprising that they barely acknowledged The 2nd Law.

yeah i think about that often. i guess the bands prerogative seems to be just get them involved as best as possible. yeah i actually have been very surprised at lack of T2L, especially with how popular panic station was here and follow me was also well received

  12. I'm not complaining about it. I just don't entirely agree with the assertion that their sets were so constrained by the theatrics of the show. They may have been to a point but their non adherence to the Drones theme meant that they could have been more flexible. That's all.

yeah i feel you. im sure they couldve been more flexible, but as i said from fan reactions most nights it wouldn't have made much sense to play anything pre-absolution sadly

  13. I'm just saying that a concept album like Drones and Matt comparing the production to The Wall suggested that they would do something different than what they did. If they truly put on a show to fit the theme and concept of the album, it would certainly limit the flexibility of the sets. As it was, I don't see how the concept or theatrics would have really constrained them at all.

right, suggested. a lot of people on this board take things the band says in passing too seriously and then get mad when it doesn't unfold how they want. if matt had said "we are going to do this production just like the wall and play drones start to finish, blah blah" and then we got this tour, then you'd have a legit gripe. seems silly to complain about stuff that the band never promises. obviously the band plays the set it does for their own reasons

  14. All due respect but that just sounds like an excuse. Muse strayed so far from the whole Drones theme (that could have been very engaging) that it became fairly irrelevant. It would have been simple to tone down the theatrics for a 10-15 minute section and just play a few more random songs. Most of the set was just a greatest hits run-thru anyway. The theme-inspired playback and visuals appeared out of context and just caused the show to drag in the end.

well, like i said it was my opinion. plus there's no rule that every song had to be related to drones nor do they have to be related to the theatrics. plus saying that it's an "excuse" implies that Muse knows they should've done something different but chose not to; which is not at all the case (and if anyone thinks they can claim otherwise, unless you have a quote from matt/dom/chris/tom contradicting me i dont wanna hear it)

edit: that last part is basically directed at ADL

  15. If that truly is what the audiences are like, and if Muse are genuinely unhappy playing to that audience, then why don't they just ditch all the fancy production, ditch playing arenas and go back to touring the US in 1000-2000 capacity theatres.

i do believe the theatrics of this tour and the playing of the globalist limited a lot of what they could do. imo the next tour will be more a step back toward what t2l tour was.

  16. i saw shows in Quebec City and then the shows from NYC to Philly. Quebec was no more energetic than the crowds in the states, the only difference I noted was way, and I mean way less people on their phones. I had two experiences that sum up the type of crowds Muse attracts currently.

In NYC we walked into the GA 10min before Muse came on, we were able to effortlessly shimmy our way all the way to the near barrier of the catwalk mic. people we're eating food, on phones, basically not paying attention. Throughout the gig I saw very few and small groups jumping up and down sometimes but my group was the only one that legitimately moshed (and we got a load of evil eyes for it). one woman even threw punches at my friend for hitting into her. she didn't realize she was at a rock concert.

In Philly i was in seats and jokingly said before madness "i hope they play madness!" and when it started no less than 5-6 people turned to me to high five me and be like "yay they played it nice job!" and I was sitting in the VIP area.

Loudest fan reactions for all 3 america shows were for madness, resistance, uprising and starlight. Muse is attracting a more casual music listening crowd, so yeah it makes sense their sets are designed that way. is it annoying that OoS and showbiz aren't played? yeah. but i honestly can't blame them, people BARELY jump around for hysteria and tiro as it is, and AP was treated as a piss break in philly. bands feed off their audiences, its hard to rock when the audience does nothing.

  17. I haven't been on the boards in a long time and I'm mad at myself for coming back. This place is an absolute mess of negativity and complaining. Its the same lot of you (for the most part) complaining about the same things in the most cyclical fashion possible. Either come to grips with what the band is or don't. It's not like were a union that can go on strike against an unjust employer, Muse is gonna do what Muse is gonna do. Unhappy with the sets? Don't go to 7 consecutive shows. Europe shows seem better? Save the money from doing 9 shows here and take a trip there to see one. Feel slighted the shows aren't long enough or there aren't enough rotations? Well, tough luck. If life's biggest problem is Muse then I'll let you know, you're pretty lucky. Yeah, I know I chime in on stuff with my own opinions but I know I'm not on anywhere near the level some of you are. I feel bad that some can't genuinely enjoy the show and experience without ripping it to pieces, which not only casts the band in a negative light but gives others trepidation as well. We all have visions of what we want the band to be but at the end of the day it's out of our control. I hope everyone enjoys their shows going forward and that everyone gets what they want

  18. Stating the fact that The Groove, a song that is like two and a half minutes long is not equal to Assassin is not a complaint. It's a statement that's quite true and I think it would've been nice to see you guys get 17 songs since the crowd was amazing and it'd be nice to have parity across the Psycho tour sets since some people were upset with how the Mayan got a better show.

Also who cares if I've seen them in 2004? Gives me all the more reason to be disappointed in the direction they've gone (from a room of the most die hard fans that knew every damn word to every song and went nuts, could've played the most obscure b-side and we'd know it) and to see those same people drop off the face of the earth after a certain album in 2009/2010?

Its amazing how I was happy with the festival sets but I'm magically unhappy with what I got five times three months later. It's as if they went in a different direction than expected.

news for you buddy, life ain't fair. get used to it. not happy with the product (which it seems you never are) don't buy it. don't know more simply it can be put
