  1. I'm looking at this gig (ticket prices are cheaper than Dublin & also I want to have a look at the 360!) but I have my Dublin tickets anyway.

How does free seating work? Clue in the name? I'm looking at tickets for Balcony 1?

    Thanks in advance!

(Oh and reason I want to know is in case I drag my mum!)

Seating is unreserved and Balcão 1 is the lower bowl.

    Ticketline still has tickets :)

  2. It fits, it's just quite a boring way of covering the topic.

Then again, I suppose Matt wasn't really trying to make some kind of thought-provoking commentary on the subject of drones/lack of empathy and whatnot. Just sounds like he thought it was a decent metaphor for him to use and say "Hey, come on guys, let's all be happy and feel love and live our lives, man."

Exactly, I think he just takes subjects that interest him and uses them for his own purpose. He obviously has his own opinions on these matters and he brings a bit of that into the songs but I think with him ultimately it's more about "how can I use this to express a parallel to ___ " rather than giving his own input about it through a song.

Still, it's a fact that he easily turned people's attentions to a matter (drooones) that maybe many would not have paid attention to otherwise. Which is fine, as he's a musician not a UN embassador lol

  3. The wording is direct but the topic is hardly covered directly. Everything from The Handler to the end has almost nothing to do with the topic of drones or modern militarization.
True but I think that has more to do with the narrative. From that point on, it all becomes about fighting the oppressor and free oneself from their ruling. Who this oppressor is and their methods, that was dealt with in the previous songs; from that point on is how to liberate oneself from that. Fits, in my opinion.
  4. There's nothing on the song that requires the protagonist to be male, if I recall correctly. It's pretty ambiguous regarding that.
Well funnily enough, Matt just said last night on Xposure that he often imagines the protagonist as a female lol I don't know how serious he was, given this was right after being asked whether the story's protagonist had a name, and he kinda dodged the question, but there you go.

He said she could be called.. Mary

  5. I think the lyrics are too in your face lately, but maybe it does need to be clearer for some?
I think they're really quite clear too, blimey, this isn't exactly literature. Now if people like them or not, that's up to personal taste I suppose.

For what it's worth, I think the lyrics for Reapers are pretty cool. I like the first verse the most.

  6. I heard that interview too and yeah he said the babe thing was to "throw people off" but he said it more as a joke in my opinion. Because then he continued talking about it after that and explained the same he did to at least another interview that I read, which is that that word refers to the more personal meaning of the song.

The whole album is like that, there is a double interpretation. Yes, the album is about drones and deals with some heavier topics, there is a story, etc but, as usual with Muse and "themes", these bigger subjects are often a metaphor to express more personal things. It's a formula Matt's been using since forever.

I see people going over the lyrics and overanalysing the meaning of the songs and somehow this, which I think is really obvious, still seems to escape some people *shrug*

  7. Against my predictions the first time I heard it, the solo/ bridge part doesn't get boring or tiring after a few listens. I've lost count to the number of times I heard this track and I get so incredibly pumped up when it gets there. It builds and builds and leads perfectly to the final part of the song.

This is just a masterpiece. I don't have a favorite Muse song, just a few I hold higher (such as Showbiz, Stockholm Syndrome, Eternally Missed, among others) but I have a feeling this one, with time, could take the number one spot for me.

  8. They can threat to cancel the show though right?
Without a valid excuse? Unlikely. There are contracts for this stuff.

I hope this matter is addressed by the band/ management. I have no doubts that the responsability for this outrageous situation falls on the promoters but in the end it is the band's image that is affected.

Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if the result of all this is the band not bothering to return in the future. A hassle to negotiate, fans get ripped off and blame the band too - and this for gigs where it's likely they don't make as much money as they do in other parts of the globe.

Good luck to all the Brazillian fans.

Tbf it's not the first time it has happened. IIRC there was a similar situation and outburst a few years ago by Ukrainian fans about the extortionate price of tickets for the gig in Kiev but I don't think anything happened in the sense of change to the tickets price.
I'm pretty sure that something did happen, though? Didn't they sell cheaper tickets after the complaints?
  9. Really? I liked that lyric.
    I do too.

That choice of words, it definitely strikes me as something he could have heard or read about himself. As in, how he'd be viewed in general, rather than by someone in specific.

It's the whole point of the lyrics, really. That what someone shows or looks to the others isn't exactly what they are like inside. She's "ablaze and alive" but dead inside; in the end he's "the greatest guy" but also dead inside. Basically, empty shells.

  10. I honestly think Dead Inside features the best vocal delivery Matt has ever done imo.
I was telling this to someone today. It's a masterclass and on top of that, you feel genuine emotion in the way he sings.
  11. Crawling out of my lurker ways once again.

I actually love this track. It reminds me of a Prince-like groove mixed with Depeche electronica, expressed through very modern pop textures. The dramatical vocal delivery gives a really cool touch to it, and it's also kinda darker than their other pop stuff. It works very well.

I think it is a lot stronger than any single from the past two albums and I guess the really beefy rythm section helps.

    This so much.

I like these lyrics. I'm not much of a lyrics person tbh, I definitely focus a lot more on the music, and am baffled at what many times people consider to be good lyrics. Matt's may not be at the same level of his compositions but he's definitely not as dreadful as most make him to be imo.

  12. Those IG vids sound so good. Looking forward to listen to this live. Really digging it. Don't care one bit that it doesn't sound like a typical opening track, all that matters is that it's good.

Thought Madness was bland as hell when I first heard it. It grew on me but I always found it meh live. This has tons more potential. Very pleased with what we've heard from the album so far tbh. Reapers is my fave but I love the other two as well.

  13. I'd stopped thinking quite awhile ago that these gigs would happen and I never felt entitled to them anyway. The band probably tried to make them happen and for some reason it didn't work and now they prefer to go to the studio anyway. Cool, new material soon.

But I don't quite get why some people are so upset about the petition. I've read some really nasty comments towards the band and IMO some people are exagerating in their disappointment at the lack of the tour and THAT I really do not condone... But I don't see any of that or any sense of entitlement in the actual petition..? It's just fans asking the band for a gig, that's all. There have been other "petitions" far more errr ridiculous. As long as it's asked nicely (lol), really don't think it comes across as being disrespectful or entitled. Or are people who sign the petition leaving nasty comments?

Besides, this is Muse. They always do as they please. They won't do a gig or a tour only cos we asked on a petition online :p Tbh, I'm kinda thinking that if they realise how badly fans wanted a gig, though, perhaps they'll gives us some bonus stuff that wasn't in the plans, like Zepp or other stuff :D

  14. ^Basically this.

I think they get excited planning stuff, start talking to fans about it and don't think that people take their words religiously and will be upset if it doesn't happen.

I have to say I prefer it this way though. I prefer that they share what they want to do and their hopes, etc, than communicating with us via "official announcements" It's just a matter of taking with a grain of salt what they say LOL, especially when they're talking about future plans.

  15. Even dom and chris talked about them planning gigs around teignmouth for weeks last year, wasn't just matt

And then it stopped and they started talking about making a new album and how 2014 was only going to be a couple of gigs.

We've had plenty of hints. I suppose the problem is that in no interview they were asked especfically about it or we'd have known for sure sooner.
